- jjamminjon, on 05/29/2009, -1/+23Dugg for the loose fitting outfits not showing cleavage, at all....
- JinxCrow, on 05/29/2009, -0/+20I just love the way he draws women, not as stick figures cause he remembers women's boobs rest on the ribcage...*le sigh*. And girls with hips, yay!
- duniyadnd, on 05/29/2009, -1/+19WTF - why can't you just go to his profile on deviantart??
http://adamhughes.deviantart.com/ - DonAlfred, on 05/29/2009, -0/+16He likes Audrey Hepburn, big boobs and Indiana Jones.
- Geordae, on 05/28/2009, -0/+9These are pretty cool, Adam is no doubt talented
- das7282, on 05/29/2009, -2/+11They're good and the guy definitely has talent but I think the word "breathtaking" is an over statement...
- bpwrinn, on 05/29/2009, -0/+8Should've just submitted the video at the very bottom.
You don't draw a hand that quickly without having drawn the same hand at least 100 times. This guy's got tons of raw experience. - jhumbug, on 05/29/2009, -2/+9He's got the Surprise Buttsex! look down pat.
- fiji5555, on 05/29/2009, -10/+16Meh it's ok but not breathtaking
- mannypdesign, on 05/29/2009, -0/+5Actually AH art is very well done. The realistic nature of his work, however is not when it is drawn, but when it's coloured in Photoshop (which is done by mouse from what I've heard--no small feat).
And since when is realism suddenly deemed unworthy? That, somehow, it's actually easier to make things look "realistic" (even though AH's work actually is a pseudo realism with a decidedly unique flavour in itself.)
Deeming an artist a master is without expense to other artists. There's plenty of room for everyone. No need to piss on it. - burningrobot, on 05/29/2009, -0/+5What man doesn't?
- Subduction, on 05/29/2009, -1/+5They are by calling this guy an "illustration master."
Apparently their only previous exposure to illustration was the opening screens to GTA. - SifuMoKung, on 05/29/2009, -2/+5meh, I read comments as stupid as yours almost everyday.
- failtrain, on 05/29/2009, -0/+3So just Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones then?
- inactive, on 05/29/2009, -0/+3What about Darth Vader with boobs?
- fartcarcas, on 05/29/2009, -1/+3wow havent seen this guy in years...I loved his work on the justice league years back
- dougle, on 05/29/2009, -0/+2All five parts of the video here http://www.adamhughes.tv/anatomy
- burningrobot, on 05/29/2009, -0/+2Far from it actually. It's just that's all I ever see on Digg.
- thePTS, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Agreed! Floating "bubble boobs" suck.
- ginetteginette, on 05/29/2009, -0/+2if fantasy art and comic art are your only ideas of illustration you're really missing out on more.
- inactive, on 05/29/2009, -3/+5this is not "breathtaking"
- SifuMoKung, on 05/29/2009, -1/+3Milton Glaser doesn't work in the comic book industry.
- Subduction, on 05/29/2009, -4/+5Yeah, Hockney and Rockwell were total punks. To be a breathtaking genius you need Darth Vader and boobs.
- musicbear, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1His work is typical boobs ahoy 13 year old j/o material that is pretty standard in comics today. A master? No, the guys giggling away at their drawing board drawing boobs are a dime a dozen. In this day and age of boob filled comics, it's a real master who can get attention without resorting to the exploitation of women.
- burningrobot, on 05/29/2009, -1/+2I dunno, compared to the normal crap illustrations and fantasy art I've seen posted on here, this is kind of refreshing.
- nirvanix, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1It is meh
- whiledo, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1http://www.onedigitallife.com/images/darths-in-lov ...
You're welcome. - arcangelgabriel, on 05/29/2009, -1/+2No ones knocking Hockney and Rockwell you ding dong.
- nirvanix, on 05/29/2009, -2/+3Honestly, I've seen better. 'Master'? give me a break.
- ginetteginette, on 05/29/2009, -4/+5totally on point. what a shame that anyone who can draw photo-realistically is deemed more artistic then people who have carved a real spot/style for themselves. christ, the comic book industry is so full of it.
it's real shameful this fanboy junk overshadows what's going on in the graphic novel industry: people like ron rege jr, seth, marc bell, paper rad, c.f. and so on with untouchable styles.

^all have great selections for those who don't know anything about the other side of comics - RealmDown, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1More like lack thereof.
- Lordrust, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1its breathtaking when you realize he colors it all with a mouse
- whiledo, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1Man, Audrey Hepburn has a much nicer rack than I remembered.
- seanayb, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1His covers always make me audibly say "dude".
- Fudgefactor7, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1Surpisingly, not one pic of his Wonder Woman...
- RobotCitizen, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1A young Audrey Hepburn as Catwoman. Hot damn!
- Odonthe1st, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1Adam is awesome. So far above any other comic artist in drawing beautiful women and his grasp of design. He doesn't just draw the same face for everyone, he can make you appreciate a variety of facial types as beautiful. Unfortunately he's too so slow to get any full books done these days. But his con sketches cost $600 and take him an hour or so, so why bother working a full day or 2 (or 3? 4?) for the same money? Lots of detractor's saying Adam's just okay and that other illustrator's are better (Milton Glaser?- apples and oranges comparison, Adam's an illustrator, Glaser's a graphic designer--Aidan Hughes? all style, no substance) but I think the subject matter cheapens the work Adam does. He is a master draftsman but the finer points of his skill are clouded by the boobs and campy humor. But I happen to like boobs and drawings of boobs and how Adam draws boobs. His rough sketches have a wealth of information for other artists in them, like looking at Rockwell studies.
- brinkofjon, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1I always wondered who did the artwork for Russ Meyer movie posters
- Noein, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1To the above negative comments
1. these paintings, which you considered to be "technically proficient", artistic merits aside are still products of great craftsmanship many of us appreciate, if they are so easy to duplicate, they would be dime a dozen, most of us consider this guy better than average, hence some calling him "master"
2. while AH's style is realistic, they are clearly also very stylized, to me they look like artistic renditions rather than just simple attempt at photo realism
3. an artist's technical proficiency does not diminish his artistic merit, or "soul", or "style" or whatever abstract arty-farty term you want to say that's missing from these paintings. Are you going to discredit the artistic value of all Renaissance paintings because their greater realism comparing to impressionism and modern art?
4. we can have an endless and pointless debate about what's art and what's not, because art by definition is hard to define and very personal, even experts can't agree on the subject. You can call this not art, i can call the crude drawings with technical proficiency of kindergarteners you appreciate not art, but what's the point. Can't we all just be happy with the artists we like and not force our own idea of what's better art onto others? - JayD16, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1Wtf is raw experience?
- inactive, on 05/29/2009, -3/+3I know alot of people can draw well but alot of them aren't talented. Art is feelings and emotion, what feeling do I get from this guy's work
"ooh that's kickass!"
That is what a 12 year-old says about the upcoming GI Joe movie. - inactive, on 05/29/2009, -2/+2You don't know very much about art, do you?
- regeya, on 05/29/2009, -1/+1For the first two, gay men openly hostile to women, maybe?
*shrug* I like me some bewbs. - ChHa7bd6, on 05/30/2009, -0/+0Good....
- inactive, on 05/29/2009, -1/+1That's probably the worst rationale I've ever seen. Are you a first year BFA or something?
- SusanaRedshoes, on 05/29/2009, -2/+2Amazing
- m1ndvirus, on 05/30/2009, -0/+0Quoth the video:
"Who needs air anyways?" - JDLamb88, on 05/29/2009, -2/+1Look at that hand control in the video, by the time I get there I'll have arthritis and it won't matter.
- ChHa7bd6, on 05/30/2009, -1/+0serious?
