- MadAce, on 03/15/2008, -2/+127Where's Starfleet HQ?
- AHHHHH, on 03/15/2008, -1/+114So... San Francisco will be impaled by knives?
- daizaru, on 03/15/2008, -1/+99It looks like it's under attack from giant next-gen xbox's
- sneakeykop, on 03/15/2008, -3/+86wow i was expecting sooooo much more...
- Austinh57, on 03/15/2008, -2/+73I was expecting some impressive material. These images weren't very satisfying.
- cubbiesx, on 03/15/2008, -0/+56100 years from now we will discover that thin, awkwardly balanced towers are best in an earthquake prone region.
- KingGorilla, on 03/15/2008, -0/+55and guarded by floating xboxes
- digggggggggg, on 03/15/2008, -1/+52... than badly photoshopped pictures of weirdly shaped thingies glued onto buildings.
- Sucka27, on 03/15/2008, -3/+54Those buildings on the hill are earthquake bait.
- antonio97b, on 03/15/2008, -1/+51It's the 22nd century and it's still not as impressive as Dubai.
- Ploosheeta, on 03/15/2008, -1/+321.) Sporks
2.) Xboxes
3.) ???
4.) THE FUTURE! - PFrocker, on 03/15/2008, -2/+31So in a 100 years, aliens will invade San Francisco?
- Mudger, on 03/15/2008, -2/+29Absolutely disgusting.
- erkokite, on 03/15/2008, -1/+25I actually find it lacking in diversity of architecture. Looks like someone chopped up a giant squid and glued it to the landscape. Pretty much all the same style.
- Aurabolt, on 03/15/2008, -2/+24Where's the giant penis tower?
- Caalro, on 03/15/2008, -0/+20Blade Runner is the only acceptable answer.
- gage006, on 03/15/2008, -0/+17Somebody needs to practice with photoshop a lot more.
- cusoman, on 03/15/2008, -5/+22Which is to say they fit perfectly in the city of San Fran.
- Railz, on 03/15/2008, -0/+16And NYC will still be made out of Concrete and Brick.
- Coolmatt49, on 03/15/2008, -0/+16Looks like the entire city is filled with giant wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men.
- inactive, on 03/15/2008, -2/+18Hey I am gay and I think they look like *****! I guess they look way too hetero to me then :)
- schweeet, on 03/15/2008, -0/+15Looks more like humongous future xboxes
- riyehn, on 03/15/2008, -1/+16Alternate universe, this is the one where architects are all on crack.
- delooka, on 03/15/2008, -2/+16Trying to scope out Danny Tanner's house but can't quite make it out.
- sum33t, on 03/15/2008, -2/+15I'll digg you down instead of suing you.
- DjViral, on 03/15/2008, -0/+13so i'm an architect but i frequently do LSD
- ggnictee, on 03/15/2008, -3/+16Those aren't buildings guys: clearly thats are the new Xbox
- erkokite, on 03/15/2008, -1/+13They were there.
- Doomsan, on 03/15/2008, -1/+13worst.photoshop.ever.
- inactive, on 03/15/2008, -10/+22These futuristic buildings look way too gay.
- KibibyteBrain, on 03/15/2008, -0/+11You can't even tear down a condemned mansion in the bay area anymore because of historical preservation hysteria. It really would take assimilation by the Borg to get the residents to make such a 180.
- kickingvegas, on 03/15/2008, -0/+9Big WTF. Being a San Francisco native, I'm blown away by the notion that 3/4 of the city is still no more than 3 stories tall by the 22nd century (unless those alien curvy tall structures are actually living/office spaces which then beggars the aesthetic question). Seems like this "design" project focused way too much on the "green" infrastructure questions and not about what kind of spaces should people live in the 22nd century. Meh.
- sittered, on 03/15/2008, -1/+9And if you're going to build a structure that obtains geothermal energy from waaaay deep underground, why place them at the highest elevation possible? Silly.
- delooka, on 03/15/2008, -0/+8Lord Xenu has made his second coming
- maybeishould, on 03/15/2008, -0/+8Mayor Gavin Newsom would never approve of this.
I really hope San Francisco doesn't look like this in the future. Whatever happened to the dark, cyberpunk cities of Blade Runner and Aliens?
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." -Blade Runner, 1982. - blackfeathers, on 03/15/2008, -0/+7in the future, fake looking cgi becomes reality. i agree they missed putting starfleet in there.
- Spartycus, on 03/15/2008, -1/+8My god those structures are ugly!
- IllBeBack, on 03/15/2008, -0/+7Does this take into account the 9.x earthquake that will devastate San Francisco in the next 50 years?
- ihatethedekoys, on 03/15/2008, -1/+7I hope in the future I won't have to reload the entire page just to view the next image in a slideshow.
- inactive, on 03/15/2008, -1/+7Non-Californians?
- RickStarr, on 03/15/2008, -3/+9really?
- inactive, on 03/15/2008, -1/+7these buildings suck ass. aesthetically vulgar.
- FreddieD, on 03/15/2008, -0/+6Yeah. Apparently the HISTORY channel has ran out of historical things to show, so now they're reversing direction.
- MaxMWood, on 03/15/2008, -0/+6What are those Xboxes doing down there?
- DanOnTheMoon, on 03/15/2008, -0/+6Protoss attack!
- oo7b0nds, on 03/15/2008, -0/+5whats funny is, in 2108 people will look back on this and laugh at us.
- vertinox, on 03/15/2008, -0/+5And where is the 300ft sea wall? I mean... Global Warming and all that.
- georgetds, on 03/15/2008, -1/+5In the future buildings will not be earthquake proof because, just like today, technology is expensive and people are cheap. May I digg you down now?
- inactive, on 03/15/2008, -2/+6I though California slid into the ocean after the big one.
- georgetds, on 03/15/2008, -0/+4NoCal for short, I think.
