Go digg that one instead, not this dupe which points to some weak forum server.
(oh, and the captions are in English on this one) - roromx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23The original page is this:

All are like 6 years old and all are real. - bwesterman, on 10/12/2007, -10/+27*****. Why doesn't digg cache *****' links? Every *****' front page story is always down. Do us all a favor and cache the *****' links, please.
- diabolicdiablo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I have a sudden urge to play Simcity.
- joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I've always been fascinated by the stilt house:
http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/.Pictures/vistasaereas/CornerHouse.jpg
Anyone know the details about that?
I'm assuming there are no building codes in Mexico City. ;o) - manano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@str3ama
It's called low income housing...... and yes, it seems like it is built with photoshop, even when you see it upclose in person - khsdestroyer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14That is cool. They had better put up a wall to keep the Americans out.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+12They aren't. They leave border towns.
- rac3r5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I wonder what Mexico would have looked like if the Spanish didn't invade. Mexico city is built on the ruins of 'Tenochtitlan'. Apart from the human sacrifices, the native Mexicans were quite civilized and advanced. I still don't get how all those ppl could blatantly attack, loot, enslave and destroy another culture while spreading Christianity at the same time.
- BlkGuyAtThePrty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11These are pics of Mexico City, not Tijuana.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Chilangos.
- matthewaaron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Thought I was looking at Trolley Land from Mr Rogers Neighborhood for the first few pictures...
- danielrh9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8You know, eventually there is going to have to be a point where Digg ponies up and offers a cache backup. Or at least an indicator that something is down with a duggmirror link when a link goes down. This is getting to be a really annoying and continual problem. It's just a bunch of "hey here's something really cool that you'll never be able to see".
- JimV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Mexico City is a giant brightly colored toy land...
- mbondr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6As an American, people like this make me so embarrassed. W and his friends have made it hip to be racist.
- glui2001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6holy crap! yea!!!
- Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I actually was thinking of going this summer to visit some friends, when asked about the kidnappings they said 2 things. One: "Don't worry man that's part of the adventure!" and Two: "If it goes too far we stop 'em, we know most of 'em anyway"...so yeah...re-thinking my trip after that lol
- Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Yah, in Mexico everyone hates people from Mexico City (called Chilangos by everyone else). They're (stereotypically speaking) are the kind of people that always know what you're talking about and just happen to be experts in that field. If you say something that is contradictory to whatever they're saying regardless how far-fetched they are, it just means that there is much for you to learn. *sigh*
Edit: Well, not hate, but dislike... - fishbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4And that wall had better be pretty tall to stop those new-fangled airplanes.
- tmcpheeters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_population
- LuceroVan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Been dugg before, but dugg again because the only thing better that looking at DF from above is living in it for a while... It's crazy as hell.
- nakmario, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I am from Mexico City and I am f*en awesome...
haha. but seriously there are like 20 million of us, you will find all types of peeps - I would say go visit but I don't want to be responsible for your kidnapping, you know?
I hope that when I am ready to retire (i am 23 years old) Mexico will get its act together and that it will be safe for me to move back. It is too dangerous of a place to live in and raise kids! - Devilhorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Looks like a very futuristic city, I've never been there, architecture is cool....rivals any American city I've seen...
- XSforMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Umm.. that list is taking into account only a state through which Mexico City spawns. Hence the listing is only at 8 million. A more correct figure would be 20 million people, considering the full extension of the city (estado de méxico + DF)
Take a look at the main article for Mexico City
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico_City - tumoas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4man mexico seems like a weird place
- royeiror, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4believe me that junkyard is all true, lack of space an high rate of vehicle accidents cause that
- chicbicyclist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I must say, Mexico City is quite an underrated city based on those pictures alone.
- Surfer51, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Let's all pack our bags and go 'el sur.'
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6It's http://www.duggmirror.com , and they don't have it anyway. You fail at Digg.
- fastmode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Loved the pictures, went there like 10 years ago and I had a great time. Want to go back again and visit the sites i didn't get to see.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Out of all the "picture-compilations" submitted to digg, that is the most wtf and awesome set ive seen. I will have to go there one day now. I thought it was a joke at first, it looks like a heap of pictures taken of some minature concept models that you would show to a marketing firm or something.
- XSforMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There are building codes in Mexico City, albeit some of them were seldomly enforced years ago. This particular house is located in a part of the city called Lomas de Chapultepec, that part of town is at least 30 years old.
Now a days, getting away with this kind of structure might be trickier, I guess people just got fed up and demanded the local government to get its ass in gear. Still lost of builders are always trying to sneak around the building codes and are always asking for "amparos" (judgements vs an authority) to prevent the authority from foreclosing them. It just boils down to how much money you are willing to dump into the lawyers. - PopeAmadeus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Down already.....Jesus
- unitedstatians, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@starphish your wrong
If jthomp3120 was speaking portuguese, he would have said, "Meu Deus" - Crazytree, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I believe that these are real pictures but the colors have been modified to show colors that do not exist in nature.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2"please"? I feel that "for *****'s sake" would be more appropriate.
- unitedstatians, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Simply answer, the natives thought the Spanish were gods, their credulity level fail them.
- InvisibleKid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2these pictures are a 100% real, i live in Mexico City(DF) and boy!!! is it crazy!?
and @ dalaudi
there's not too many people who leave Mexico city, i mean a small part of it leaves, keep in mind that this is the biggest city (in population per square mile) in the world - rac3r5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1all I have to say is WOW .....
- FenrisUlf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It may have been winter, or in late summer... I'm not sure when the "green" part of the year is for DF, but the time of year that google's satellite source made its pass makes a big difference at what you see.
- elegidito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2More like 22nd biggest in population density.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and my terrible joke flops as a misunderstanding.. or my humor just sucks that bad.
- furrycloud, on 01/19/2009, -0/+1Largest metropolitan area in the Western Hemisphere.
- matador0, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1Since the 80's pollution has gone down for more than a half
- mkameli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty sure I saw Un'goro in one of those pictures...
- XSforMe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well, the view from above is different from what you see on the ground. I live here, and couldn't identify some of these pictures!
- simpson2050, on 03/04/2009, -0/+0Great pics. Mexico is really cultured and beautiful place to live.
See some more pic (rocky point, mexico) my dream place to visit
