- jaxomlotus, on 02/09/2009, -4/+39I'd love for Digg to integrate with something like this so we could make our own Avatars instead of just uploading pictures.* I'd also love it if Digg could install a free money-printing feature, because free money is awesome.
*Of course, as I am affiliated with Aviary my opinion is probably a bit biased. - NyteStarNyne, on 02/10/2009, -0/+12Don't worry, with the amount of money the Government is printing these days, it will be free in no time.
- BradOFarrell, on 02/10/2009, -1/+11Really? I thought it was made in DHTML. Tell me more, Professor.
- deepthought21, on 02/10/2009, -0/+10Superd work guys, first rate app completely in the browser!
- mikek814, on 02/10/2009, -1/+11I just tried it on Mac OS X using Safari, in less then 15 seconds I had vector editing running. Impressive.
- DBeta, on 02/10/2009, -0/+8One vector art program feeling like another? Non-sense!
- jaxomlotus, on 02/10/2009, -1/+8If you love Vector Magic so much, maybe you should pay for it, or at the very least not help people steal it?
They aren't a big company, just a couple of guys trying to make a living. - annjay, on 02/09/2009, -0/+6It's really wonderful...
- tommasz, on 02/10/2009, -4/+10It should be mentioned, in case it wasn't obvious, that this is a Flash application and a big one at that.
- mgalpert, on 02/10/2009, -0/+6You can also export to SVG which can be edited further in desktop apps
- ChiefUCF, on 02/10/2009, -1/+5What's your vector Victor?
- palmer, on 02/10/2009, -0/+4Your needs must be really, really rudimentary.
- lateralus, on 02/10/2009, -0/+4cracked, i bet.
- jaxomlotus, on 02/10/2009, -0/+4That's not a design flaw in terms of capability - that was a deliberate choice we made (and can just as easily allow users to specify on their own in their preferences). We defaulted it to this method because we found most users had an easier time selecting items this way.
- palmer, on 02/10/2009, -0/+3Then again, like Illustrator, this thing selects everything the marquee touches when doing a drag selection. It should select only the objects that are fully enclosed by the selection box. Otherwise, working with overlapping shapes or enclosed shapes is so tedious as to make the app not worth using.
Looks like it's still Inkscape, or Corel Draw under Fusion. Good effort, though! - synapzgap, on 02/10/2009, -0/+3This rocks, as do their other apps.
- mkppk, on 02/10/2009, -0/+3Cool, too bad I still don't have any artistic skills.
- mrBitch, on 02/11/2009, -0/+2Tower : Flight 2-0-9'er, you are cleared for take-off.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: L.A. departure frequency, 123 point 9'er.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Victor Basta: Request vector, over.
Captain Oveur: What?
Tower voice: Flight 2-0-9'er cleared for vector 324.
Roger Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence.
Captain Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?
Tower voice: Tower's radio clearance, over!
Captain Oveur: That's Clarence Oveur. Over.
Tower voice: Over.
Captain Oveur: Roger.
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: Roger, over!
Roger Murdock: What?
Captain Oveur: Huh?
Victor Basta: Who? - SpencerFry, on 02/10/2009, -2/+4Saw this demoed at the 5th Ave Apple Store a few weeks ago. Looking good!
- ManJackson, on 02/11/2009, -0/+2A great little app - nice to see stuff released for free too. You can tell a lot of love has gone into Aviary.
Nice site too, although not sure about that greeny/grey background colour though.. - vagarach, on 02/10/2009, -0/+2Wow. Very, very impressive. Not as intuitive as inkscape (whose bezier curve tool is far easier to use than photoshop and raven's) but it doesn't hog the CPU even using flash 10 on mac!
- rentmitchum, on 02/10/2009, -5/+7Get a Nintendo DS, I've heard they print money.
- goldsaturn, on 02/10/2009, -2/+4Does this feel a lot like Inkscape to anyone else?
- LonelyTylenoL, on 03/15/2009, -0/+1Hey, Inkscape works to you know....just sayin'
- mikedaul, on 02/10/2009, -1/+2So it basically replicates all the functionality of the drawing tools in flash - and then publishes them as a flash-based tool. Interesting...
- sloppychris, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1Do they plan on charging for these products down the line?
- Atomic1fire, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1Capitalism is great, Isn't it.
expensive ≠ Right to pirate - abakis, on 02/10/2009, -0/+0What a nice way to launch your product. I wish I could get digg appearance for my stuff ;)
- palmer, on 02/10/2009, -1/+1It can't be worse than Illustrator.
- mparker21311, on 02/10/2009, -3/+2Make a living selling their product for $300.
- abakis, on 02/10/2009, -3/+0Could have been Silverlight ;)
- CoD4, on 02/10/2009, -7/+2:::::goes back to illustrator 8::::::
- KickTheBobo, on 02/10/2009, -9/+2I tried twice to create a new document to mess around in, and was denied.
Don't think I'll be visiting there again any time soon.
good try, though! - mparker21311, on 02/10/2009, -9/+1Vector Magic > All
