that makes me wanna smoke weed. - gettothechoppa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'd have to say what's actually lame, is that when a person points out a site that has as its purpose to make people not take drugs, and not ruin their lives because of it, that you'd want to bury this as "lame".
Seriously.
I'm sure you didn't mark as 'lame' the "PICTURES: A three layer wedding cake made out of MEAT!" article which is now on the front page.
Yet my pointing out a site I think is pretty neat that gets people off drugs is lame. Come now. What's your purpose anyhow? Get more people on drugs? - johnlandes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Or at least visit this site after
- Phrag, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I actually like keeping people from ruining their lives. People like Lisa McPherson who not only ruined her life by joining the church of scientology but, effectively ended her life by trusting those people. Those same people who are behind the website that you claim is trying to get people off drugs.
What you fail to realise is that my 'purpose' is to establish a reasonable drug policy based on fact and scientific study instead of the fearmongering and lies that your site if full of. The vast majority of people who take drugs do not ruin their lives. If you want examples, simply look at the people in the American government that are creating and upholding the drug laws. Both Bush and Clinton smoked weed and did other drugs yet still managed to become President. Many pro-athletes, artists, musicians, actors, scientists, doctors, and people from other professions use or have used drugs, both legal and illegal. What destroys that lives of some of these people are not the drugs but, the drug laws. An addiction can be helped and, with time and effort, overcome. A criminal record is not as easy to deal with.
If you honestly were looking to help people with drug abuse problems, then I would support you. Instead of coming here with honest information and sincere goals, you bring lies and propaganda so I don't. You don't help people by lying to them and scaring them into doing what you think is right. You help people by respecting them enough to tell them the truth, letting them make their own decision and being there when they decide that they need help.
As for the meat cake, I have better things to do with my time than even look at that, let alone take the time to mark it. - Phrag, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Stop spamming your scientologist propaganda on digg. Burried as lame.
- gettothechoppa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Hm. Perhaps you should read the site, as well as look at the pretty flash. I think the point of it is the "don't smoke weed" idea.
