AltonBrown.com - Site redesign and hint of an upcoming podcast feed
altonbrown.com — Alton Brown (kitchen technology guru) of Good Eats fame has had a significant revision of his web site done. It doesn't use standards compliant CSS layout techniques but AB's new site redesign is a big step forward creatively and hints that "Pretty soon there will be a darned clever podcast, video, all sorts of goodies..."

- orian76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree, he's like the perfect nerd chef.
- dukem72, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I went to a book signing last year. He was taking questions from the public and someone asked "Alton, PC or Mac?"
His response was "If I had a boat I will take any pc and use it as an anchor for it, enough said".
Now you can imagine the laughs in the audience.

- tgiles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would happily listen to an AB podcast. A good buddy of mine at the NOC (has all his books, cooks like Julia Childs on speed) nearly had a stroke when he heard the news.
Yep. AB rocks. - Mister.Joshua, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Did koolaidguy get this on the front page?

- DonWilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Alton Brown looks like Adam Sessler!"
No, Adam Sessler looks like a retarded Alton Brown. - redawgts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Semi-old news but still good news. I'm very much looking forward to the podcast. Dugg.

Exactly. - Nessguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good Eats is the only cooking show I watch. AB is great.
- CTSPatrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AB brings a geeky perspective to cooking that I can understand.
Dugg. - distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Alton Brown is my hero! He rocks, and it rocks you guys know and appreciate him!

- Serendipity, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I hate his show.
- sgtpinky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wait for it: I am an Australian, I have never heard of Alton Brown, so to me his site is so UN-special that I had to look at the comments just to find out who the hell he is. lmao.
- ektmqqysixhxr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0http://koolaidguy.blogspot.com/ 26144
- sTiVo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0+digg but I don't think this story really has 241 comments!! digg having some computation issues this morning
- andy78, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hmmm.... "Pretty soon there will be a darned clever podcast" that isn't a hint, that is pretty much saying clearly that there will be a podcast.
- Kiltak, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Hun, who cares???
- AppleLuva, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1donwilson, I agree, he is a good reason to watch Food Network. However, I have to say that Giada DeLaurentis (Everday Italian) is the main reason why I love to cook. Besides, who wouldn't like looking at a pretty little italian girl cooking with nice, low cut tops!! She's just plain HOT!
- bubba9999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sgtpinky: You'd know him better as Brown Alton, since everything is topsy-turvy south of the equator. He's the guy that chops onions counter-clockwise.
I hope new episodes of Good Eats are coming. I have already seen every single episode like 3 times. It reruns more than Gilligans Island did in the 70's. - TunnelRat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good Eats is an excellent show for those of us that like to know the tech behind cooking.
A Video pod-cast would be an excellent addition. - 177emc2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Master of Food
- thing-fish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Frigging HOORAY! For the podcast. Site design is silly; was hard to find content on old site, is hard on new site. But hooray for a podcast I'm all over it.
- ScrapNancy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Alton rocks, plain and simple.
- iupetre, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0um.... WTF with spam dude! can we ban this guy?
- clemonator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3we have the power within us-hit the X to the left of that persons image and poof, they're gone.
As for AB. I think it's funny this even hit-I mean I LOVE AB however I didn't think to post it the day I noticed it had changed 2 weeks ago so for me this is old news but it's not about the news, it's about social digging.
I have met AB several times and he has always been a wonderful guy - I actually went to NFM's first store where he was demoing some GE products and the area was absolutely packed. I mean hundreds of people and he made it clear it would sign each persons book/whatever if they wanted to and am sure he was there for hours afterward - definitely knows he's only there because of the fan's.
He is why I bought a food processor, a mixer, and begged my mom for my grandma's iron skillet and am a better cook because of him. - badnewsblair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First off, Alton Brown is so awesome. Good Eats has been Season Passed on my Tivo since I got it!
But yeah, I saw there were 600+ comments and knew it was that d-bag spamming, but I had already used the "X" on a previous post and I only see about 20 posts. Learn to use the digg features guys! It will become your friend - Refrag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'm not going to digg a site redesign -- especially when it is this lackluster. Re-post when the podcast is available and I'll digg that!
- thegoodknife, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great
- elpipetuanis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think the site redesign is great!! +DIGG
- kimos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've always said that Alton Brown is my food-related hero...
