- doctorfungi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+57They're not THAT bad...
- psevium, on 10/10/2007, -0/+39Taipei 101 looks awesome!
- JonnyTrombone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+368, 3, and 2 are all pretty awesome. I take it the submitter doesn't know much about Post Modernism (or art in general).
- juicebag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27The Taipei isn't that bad. And the elephant one is epic.
- bigman11, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16I don't get it... He says they are ugly and then points out the things that make the buildings awesome...
- Tokkii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13His overreaction to these buildings is ridiculous.
- cyberwiz01, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13I actually kind of like the Green Citadel in Germany, It's so over-the-top tacky that it kind of makes it's way back around again. Kind of reminds me of something from a Dr. Seuss book.
- briansearles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Some of those buildings are awesome - this guy has horrible taste.
- AntBing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Who the ***** is this guy to be rating buildings? The architechs of these buildings probably have more experience and talent than this smug wanker could ever hope to.
- diggface5000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I've built tuk chang in tetris before. In fact, I think there should be MORE animal-shaped buildings. I'd lease space in a giraffe.
- drizzlelicious, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10This person's taste in buildings suck. Taipei 101 is amazing. If you've been there, you'd think it's even more amazing.
Just so you know, 101 is designed to resemble a pagoda.
#2 is awesome too. - hayashi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10any building that doesn't have a normal shape is ugly to him.
- eatupmartha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Having seen Taipei 101 in person several times, it is magnificent.
- roastedbagel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Call me crazy but personally I think #'s 3 and 4 are pretty cool. Im surprised the huge salmon colored CO (Telecom building) in NYC with no windows didnt make the cut.
- If someone has a link to that please post, it was on digg not too long ago - Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The Ryugyong Hotel (#4) looks pretty cool, too. I don't know about "cool for a hotel", but it could definitely be some evil villain's corporate headquarters.
- DMDekoth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6..Repulsive? They look creative and different. I'd like to go see any of them.
- patch6, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6How can there be a top 9 list of ugly buildings without including the monstrosity of http://www.kunstler.com/eyesore_200311.html ?
- cyroxos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yea, they are creative. I like every one of those buildings more than just a simple cube.
- lotuseater, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I think they're all kind of cool.
- jay0312, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Those buildings are just too damn cool for the author..
- Tabou, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5You can't be an architecture "critic" when you don't know anything about architecture to begin with. (addressing whoever made the list)
- canewediggit, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10i think they got the idea for #8 by just piling up all their take-out boxes for the trash.
- lunarworks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Personally, I think the OCAD building is wonderful.
Want repulsive? Try all the generic-as-***** condos going up all over town. That's what's repulsive. - dissident, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4dugg for having all 9 on one page.
- TridenTBoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I think most of them are pretty cool too... Buried, inaccurate.
- Puffball, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They really aren't. God for bid if we should use some funky buildings and make a generic urban scene look interesting! Though #1 truly looks like dog *****.
- Delber, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5They forgot the OCAD building in Toronto. http://www.ists11.org/ocad_h436.jpg
- Fusi0n, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I personally think all these building's look pretty cool, at least there different. :P
- ItsMyWii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42 isn't that bad, and neither is Taipei 101
- JoshuaH, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4...Are they rat infested or something?
- Machters, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4nah!! this kid doesnt have any taste .. you should do sumthing else for living since this is not your strong side.
- suprxtragrav, on 12/09/2008, -2/+5hmm its nice to see buildings taht are unique.i liek them all...
- mlwarrior, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Someones feeling bitchy today.... I seriously hope you aren't male.
- ButterBuddha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+310. Any built in Las Vegas
- ttfadia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I think some of them are quite interesting. Numbers 2 and 4 are odd but nice.
- roastedbagel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3dyslexia is a elbirroh disorder
- ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Laughable Ayn Rand-esque wankery on display. Sometimes original is just plain bad regardless of public opinion.
- tmjoen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The green citadel one looks like something out of Leisure Suit Larry.
- MacGyver2210, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think they're mostly fine. There are some real bad ones, like #1 and #7. The rest are actually quite avant-garde type architecture, and are quite cool. As the first commenters say, you have no taste. Buried as lame.
- whoadave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24 and 3 are amazing in my opinion.
- macamatition, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3The first one is cool, looks haunted.
- badjoke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Which kinda looks like the Experience Music Project in Seattle:
http://www.hohpe.com/Gregor/Travel/2002/Seattle/em ... - tastypickles, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Maybe these were training projects for DOS designers?
- nephari, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm surprised Seattle's Experience Music Project wasn't on there: http://www.sswnews.com/images/building/projects_se ...
- buyvalve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think the only really nasty one was the last one. It looks crooked...
- Dramamine, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I liked most of them. Number 8 was one of the buildings I thought was really cool when I visited New York.
- jhshukla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1not #3 (elephant). it is not the worst but one of the worst.
- jcaino, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1im surprised he doesn't have the jd stone container building because the top is shaped like a diamond.
or ppg tower because the top is castle-esque. i think some of these are awesome (most, actually) and reflect different ideas in design and art. - somewherein72, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't know. I'm glad that there are some unique buildings like that scattered here and there. Makes things interesting. It would be a dull world if everything looked like the Chrysler Building or the GE Building.
- Sevets, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Is this a Joke? I hope so
