7 of the Best CSS Resources on the Web
sawse.com — Design professionals once ignored CSS, chalking it up to nothing more than a fad that would eventually fade into the background. Over time, its ease of use and wealth of design applications have made it the new favorite of media designers everywhere. If you haven ’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for?

- JPBimmer, on 01/14/2008, -0/+29Surprisingly, alistapart.com isn't on there.
- Dradis, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Yeah, I was surprised too. "Fisticuff Design co." but no ALA or meyerweb ?
- suxmonkey, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1Maybe too obvious? Dunno.
- 31213121, on 01/14/2008, -0/+7And he forgot http://csseasy.com
The site offers 8 CSS skeletons (4 fixed-faux and 4 fluid), fully commented source and no ads in the layouts! It's great for beginners and I also use it sometimes when I want to create a basic layout and don't want to write that skeleton again.
(why only 8? well, I don't know, but it prevents the site from getting complicated, and you don't really need more)- alberto24, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1another site is htmlcenter - bunch of css tutorials in the css and usability categories (the usability ones are better):

- Nanobe, on 01/14/2008, -2/+3A List Apart has had too many bum articles in my opinion. The one I remember most vividly was the utterly uninformed "solution" to the problem with the "q" element. Their solution was basically a "screw you" to certain (relatively) major text-based browsers and accessibility agents, in order to use an element of little to no practical benefit in a way it wasn't meant to be used.

- BarbaraKolbe, on 01/14/2008, -2/+1Sux, not obvious to those of us who are not designers. Great overview and resource for me. Thanx!
- girlscout, on 01/14/2008, -5/+0For those who don't know why you'd want to use css:
http://murphymac.com/slib/what-is-css.htm - Hemingrubbish, on 01/14/2008, -1/+7Is it me or are we not convinced that css is a good idea by now? Articles about CSS being the "new thing" have been around for ages. I love CSS - it is a very powerful and time-saving tool - but its by no means new, and I would imagine there are very few designers out there who are oblivious to the fruits of CSS.
- seantubridy, on 01/14/2008, -1/+2That's true. Unfortunately, I still know a couple developers who use tables for layout. They've adopted CSS for font control but that's it. Kind of scary.
- MScrip, on 01/14/2008, -0/+3Hey... if tables work, they work. There was plenty of web design before CSS. I've been building websites since 1995. I used tables because that's all there was. Now, of course, I use CSS for layout. But I can't go back in time and forget that I used tables for layout. I guess some people are resistant to change.
