- JPBimmer, on 01/14/2008, -0/+29Surprisingly, alistapart.com isn't on there.
- 31213121, on 01/14/2008, -0/+7And he forgot http://csseasy.com
The site offers 8 CSS skeletons (4 fixed-faux and 4 fluid), fully commented source and no ads in the layouts! It's great for beginners and I also use it sometimes when I want to create a basic layout and don't want to write that skeleton again.
(why only 8? well, I don't know, but it prevents the site from getting complicated, and you don't really need more) - Hemingrubbish, on 01/14/2008, -1/+7Is it me or are we not convinced that css is a good idea by now? Articles about CSS being the "new thing" have been around for ages. I love CSS - it is a very powerful and time-saving tool - but its by no means new, and I would imagine there are very few designers out there who are oblivious to the fruits of CSS.
- Nanobe, on 01/14/2008, -0/+4Taking a look at W3Schools' table-based presentational markup and frequently invalid/bad-practice examples, I wouldn't recommend them. Try this instead:

- clayeaston, on 01/14/2008, -0/+3so many ads, such an ugly site. i mean they're talking about css, while using some basic wordpress template stuffed with ads?
- MScrip, on 01/14/2008, -0/+3Hey... if tables work, they work. There was plenty of web design before CSS. I've been building websites since 1995. I used tables because that's all there was. Now, of course, I use CSS for layout. But I can't go back in time and forget that I used tables for layout. I guess some people are resistant to change.
- Dradis, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Yeah, I was surprised too. "Fisticuff Design co." but no ALA or meyerweb ?
- LilFotherMucker, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2http://www.everythingcss.com is a quick reference, but no depth
- gizmo12688, on 01/14/2008, -2/+4Dugg down for inaccuracy. This has nothing to do with Counter-Strike Source.
- fadeout, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2http://www.cssplay.co.uk was pretty helpful when I was trying to learn CSS.
- suxmonkey, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1Maybe too obvious? Dunno.
- alberto24, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1another site is htmlcenter - bunch of css tutorials in the css and usability categories (the usability ones are better):
http://www.htmlcenter.com/tutorials/index.cfm/usab ... - Nanobe, on 01/14/2008, -2/+3A List Apart has had too many bum articles in my opinion. The one I remember most vividly was the utterly uninformed "solution" to the problem with the "q" element. Their solution was basically a "screw you" to certain (relatively) major text-based browsers and accessibility agents, in order to use an element of little to no practical benefit in a way it wasn't meant to be used.
- hifiDesign, on 01/14/2008, -2/+3Linkbait. There are many more sites that could be added to this, just as if not more worth your time.
Here are just a few:

http://particletree.com/
http://www.thinkvitamin.com - wassim2k, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1not again...
- sariss, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1Always a good one to get started.... - http://www.code-sucks.com/css%20layouts/
- seantubridy, on 01/14/2008, -1/+2That's true. Unfortunately, I still know a couple developers who use tables for layout. They've adopted CSS for font control but that's it. Kind of scary.
- ellisgl, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1float:left; clear:both; for first column
and then
float:left; clear:none; the columns next to it..
Works great for me. - zephc, on 01/14/2008, -3/+3http://w3schools.com/css/css_reference.asp Keep it in your bookmarks bar
- Trollhammaren, on 01/14/2008, -1/+1Oh good one! I bet you're the first person to ever say that!
