- kierucom, on 06/11/2009, -0/+20So they are (mostly) all very pretty and show an excellent grasp of design and imagination. But did you notice how many pieces of typography were extremely difficult or nearly impossible to READ? Maybe I'm crazy... but generally when I I use words to convey a point I hope that someone can read said words.
- serif69, on 06/11/2009, -1/+19What's stunning is how similar half of these are to each other. Adding swirls to letters isn't stunning.
Some of them are nice, though, which is a change from the norm for lists like this.
/cynical designer - gabbagabbahey, on 06/11/2009, -0/+13Just because it looks hard to do doesn't make it good.
Some of these are illegible would have thought that was important. - blackgt93, on 06/11/2009, -1/+14Of all time? Really?
One of the marks of creative typography is the fact you can, you know, READ it. Some of these aren't anything really all that special. Plus, many of them follow design trends that I wish would die (I'm looking at you scrolly letter graphics that look paisley-ish). - techobo, on 06/11/2009, -1/+14I don't know about of all time, a lot of these look like club flyers.
/grumpy designer - jfarrell, on 06/11/2009, -0/+11These all look designed in the last few years. I was expecting to see a great overview of typography throughout the century. This is hardly stunning typography. It looks like the designers just played around with 3D and Photoshop — this style is going to look dated really soon.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -2/+10"Of all time", at least it means they never have to make another one of these ever again.
- seantubridy, on 06/11/2009, -0/+7OF ALL TIME! BEHOLD!
Er, actually... if you could just wait until the server comes back up from all the digg traffic in a few hours and then...
BEHOLD! - tonychenyj, on 06/11/2009, -4/+11I like the "3D Font Tank" most. Nice list.
- bluerei, on 06/11/2009, -1/+8Of all time?
4 of them have the same style with different tweaks to it. Where is the great typography of Americans from the 20's and 50's? How about the typography of the Japanese toy market in the 80's and even today? The cold war-era typography of Russian propaganda? This list is grossly inaccurate. - frostbyt, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6meh.
- chessthecat, on 06/11/2009, -4/+10Of all time? A few of these are by the same dude. These are just graphic arts students submitting projects to their profs. Absolute garbage.
- BeatPunchbeef, on 06/11/2009, -1/+7Most of these are just letters with ***** coming off of them.
- chopeh, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5Bit of a mixed bag really. Some are great, some aren't.
In fact putting them all together in a list has made me appreciate the style less... So thanks for that. - alpha94, on 06/11/2009, -3/+8Terrible.
- dmoffitt, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5Of all time? You're kidding, right? Nevermind they aren't really "typography" so much as using type to create imagery, to me typography is more about laying out content in a pleasing way through use of face(s), techniques like whitespace, leading, kerning, yadda yadda, not "look I made a picture with a font."
- Pushkin, on 06/11/2009, -0/+4The W in Playwell cannot be created in LEGO without superglue
- nem0, on 06/11/2009, -2/+5"Stunning" is the new "Awesome"
- Natnie, on 06/11/2009, -1/+4Am I the only one that is perplexed (and kind of horrified) by that one with the mouths??
- roostersheep, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3It's using a singular long thin piece. But good eye for detail, regardless.
- Asvetic, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3SO SENSATIONALIST... I guess they weren't getting much traffic to their little site.
- TommyBoy919, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2Some of these are what I'd consider nice, but more than half of them are awful. You can't even read the highly stylized text, which pretty much defeats the purpose.
- Tibin05, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2I wouldn't exactly call it a logo design, just a design.
- JantjePietje, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2a little thing about all these lists
the top 5 ... ok
the ten best ... ok
the 25 greatest ... acceptable
the SIXTY most blablabla ridiculous - frostw, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2Nice try
- banmeagaindigg, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2exactly. More trendy *****.
3d extrusions? Check.
Flourishes? Check.
Slab fonts? Check.
Garbage. - liquisoft, on 06/11/2009, -1/+3Of all time? Give me a break.
- banmeagaindigg, on 06/11/2009, -1/+3You sir are wrong.
- kierucom, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1No, no you are not the only one. It scared me too.
- banmeagaindigg, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1PS nice portfolio , found it myself:
http://www.foolishstudios.com/work
(key words for Google searches in the future under your name so this page will come up: Mike, Dunn, Texas, Design, MikeDunn, Foolish Studios,) - banmeagaindigg, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1Ha! I've been working doing this for years, awards, etc in an ACTUAL agency. show me your portfolio or STFU.
Its NOT a logo because it doesnt have any scanibility, black and white reproduction or low res ability.
Not familiar with these terms? Thats what I thought. Owned. - Tibin05, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1I like the "a" with the muscles and spine sticking out!
- f54280, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Yep. The website was down, and I provided a mirror. But well, I have stopped trying to bother about diggs ups or down long ago. Digg is broken, and now controlled by a vocal mob of teenagers that up/down stories and comments without any check (in general because you have said something they disliked a few month ago, so they added you to their "digg down list')
It isn't that important: Digg will at some point turn into some huge kuro5hin like trollfest, and be replaced by something else. In the meantime, enjoy! - baiwushi, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1I really liked Yulia Brodskaya's design. Most of the other ones are very similar with the exception of some variation. Don't get me wrong, they're very good, but I have never seen the way anyone has done Yulia's style.
- 2of8, on 06/11/2009, -1/+1What? How do you digg a mirror down? I don't get it. This is providing a useful link. Do people downvote without even bothering to click on said link?
- gionesta, on 06/15/2009, -0/+0Very nice work.

Number 1: BE WRONG - silverfox08, on 06/11/2009, -1/+1what is "coming trough"?
- twinklyJesus, on 06/12/2009, -1/+1Yeah, I only do printing and graphic design for a living, so I know less about what typography actually is, versus what a logo is. And you, mere digger at home in mom's basement knows...
retard. - genslay, on 06/11/2009, -5/+4Really?
- jadgraph, on 06/11/2009, -2/+1AWESOME POST! I don't know if these are the 60 most stunning typography inspiration of all time, but other than that, good job on gathering these for all of us to see.

http://rorr.im/digg.com/design/60_most_stunning_ty ... - twinklyJesus, on 06/11/2009, -3/+1Most of it is not typography, it is logo designs.
- FakingFamous, on 06/11/2009, -5/+2how could anyone bash this? it's sick! alpha94, gabbagabbahey are excatly the type of person Trent Reznor was talking about in his rant
- DulcetTone, on 06/11/2009, -4/+1If you think "stunning" is a word that can be applied to typography, you have a mental condition. It can be "elegant", perhaps.
- ethanator1088, on 06/11/2009, -7/+3That pure awesomeness!
