- Culero, on 08/17/2008, -0/+13What about the Man's Kitchen from ToolTime?
- lucy22, on 08/16/2008, -1/+13I like the modular kitchen. That bright green could reallly wake me up in the a.m.
- acmaurer, on 08/16/2008, -1/+7Very cool - but some are a bit too Jetsons for me. I guess I'm more of a traditional person - until these kitchens are available and change my mind! :-)
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+5As cool as the designs are, they appear to be more retro than futurist. I mean, that table looks like a 50s radio. Hidden kitchen kicks ass though and would give those Ikea designers a run for their money..
- thegrantman, on 08/17/2008, -3/+8This is poor design. The aesthetics look as if they were stolen from a child's toy.The features work like a pop-up camper;the novelty would be soon replaced with irritation.
- langdonalger, on 08/17/2008, -1/+6that looks comfortable not.
- ecaffeine, on 08/17/2008, -2/+6Yea but they probably look like **** when you finish putting them all together with instructions that consist of 3 pictures with no words **** YOU IKEA!
- megaton, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4That's because they were stolen from Epcot.
- siandt, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4I'd love that planter-counter. Of course, I'd probably manage to kill every one of those plants within a week. This is why I use frozen herbs. :(
- mr_ziy, on 01/15/2009, -0/+4I actually prefer the Jetsons look, probably gonna get 'em when I get my own place :)
- megaton, on 08/17/2008, -1/+5WTF? Half this ***** is in Epcot's Spaceship Earth.
Credit where credit's due, designers... - lukas88, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4The future looks too much like web 2.0
- toetagger, on 08/17/2008, -0/+3Designed by designers, not cooks.
- TVarmy, on 08/17/2008, -0/+3I have to agree. It's nice to look at, but functionally, 80% of what I want in a kitchen can be satisfied with large counters, a big cutting board, and a couple sharp knives. Each design includes sinks, stoves, dishwashers, etc, so I really don't think those need specifying.
Seriously, is the kitchen of the future that small? How am I supposed to make a good meal with two sides in that?
Also, the hidden kitchen would get on my nerves in like, 5 minutes.
Did the people who designed these things know how to cook?
Granted, I agree with the starter of this thread. I have no right to legitimately shun these designs until I've tried them, but since they're all CG, it seems no one else has, either. - bryceman111, on 08/17/2008, -0/+2Retro is the future, man!
- geekyfrans, on 08/17/2008, -0/+2Ikea ftw
- connieLingus, on 08/17/2008, -1/+3whoa George Jetson take notice.
- ThenWang, on 08/17/2008, -0/+2where's the robot maid
- mearse, on 08/17/2008, -1/+3they're not that cool...what exactly does "awesomely futuristic" mean
- thegrantman, on 08/17/2008, -0/+2The instructions are simple enough that you don't need words.
- cmw10, on 08/17/2008, -1/+3It looks way too stereotypical "future" and very Jetsons like (and in a not good, cheesy way)
- alpharaptor, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1apparently it means 'retro futuristic'
- inactive, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1still not ganna cook
- jgzman, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1I should point out that while the kitchen stuff is only so-so, I found this while browsing their site: http://www.dbfletcher.com/capstan/ It's a site they link to but DAMN, I've got to get one of these. Just watch the first video.
- LumberingOaf, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1
Why is it that in the future none of the furniture looks very comfortable?
I'll stick with the present, I think. - john570, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1That is some of the worst looking stuff I have ever seen.
- cfuse, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1I don't see any robots here.
- Rosco, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Exactly, looks like the weird crap they introduced back in the 60's.
- jhaydon, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Defending the kitchen from zombies.
- swizzlestick, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Bold move.
- Mattja, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1I have this really bad pun that doesn't apply here, but I wanted to inflict it on you all anyway.
Kitschen. Hahaha. - Andrewe1, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1They seem nice, but as an Industrial Design student, I see stuff like this all the time... Most people making renders and always aiming towards the "futuristic curved simplistic" style which I don't like. Also, sometimes I feel that this "simple and curved" furniture comes from the lack of 3d skills from the designer, but that's just me...
Plus I would never buy those. - NicoNicoNico, on 08/17/2008, -0/+0Am I the only one in love with the planter stove? I can't see how that one isn't too far off. Think about it: you have your herb garden planted in it, and pluck whatever thing you need while you're cooking.
- DavidinBoston, on 08/17/2008, -2/+2This is the type of silliness that people 50 years from now will look back at and laugh and laugh and laugh.
Then they'll laugh some more. - supguy, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1mirror ftw ??
- jhails, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1Holy crap those are ugly! Spare us the George Jetson look.
- Minarchian, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1LOL
I'll digg you up brother :) - andergriff, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1The Jetsons are going to love it.
- ImYourRealDad, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1Not a fan of Bauhaus, never really was. Screw "Less is More".
- Freida1099, on 02/06/2009, -0/+0great, I like it
http://www.superdealfurniture.com - macfrekin, on 08/17/2008, -0/+0definitely my thing! like them all!
- Nouman6, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1Some of these would look great in a condo :)
Though I don't see modern housing adapting to this style soon....but still looking cool! - mattmollysdad, on 08/17/2008, -2/+2Not
- Foureyedave, on 08/17/2008, -3/+2Why does it seem that futuristic furniture is synonymous with ugly???
