- hauln4, on 11/08/2008, -1/+104Dugg for being all on one page. Then getting to the bottom and seeing "Continue to part 2". Awesome list. Should be 100 Strange Buildings of the World.
- sarasowrong, on 11/08/2008, -0/+71I'd love to see the interiors of some of these.
- jboitnott, on 11/08/2008, -0/+39That is one incredible collection of stuff. Took me ten minutes to get through it -- but it was worth it.
- jggube, on 11/07/2008, -0/+32The crooked house looks really trippy.
- Murdats, on 11/08/2008, -0/+29what a brilliant innovation.
having 50 pictures on only 1 page, lets hope it catches on hey - jotate, on 11/08/2008, -1/+22I grew up about 10 minutes from that basket building. It never struck me as strange until someone came to visit and we past it on the road to them saying "WHAT THE ***** IS THAT!?"
And since, Frank Gehry seems to be a popular choice, my favorite comes with a little bias from my alma mater, the Peter B. Lewis Building at Case Western:

- dkapuchino, on 11/08/2008, -3/+15Zervaman, you're a total prick.
A. Schools don't force you to be away from home for months and years. you're able to go back home whenever you want. Also, you're free to chose which school you want to go to, and there are plenty of religious schools out there.
B. You don't just go around inventing religious just to be a prick. Chrisitianity, Islam, Judaisim, Buddhism, have been around for ever. None of them require anything fancy or extreme. Sure, a lot of temples are, but the religions only require very minimal things in order for a temple to qualify as a place worthy of worshiping in. There's a small think some of us, none pricks, like to use called "common sense". Expecting the military to give you a room in large base for worshiping a popular religion is a totatly reasonable expectation. Expecting them to build you a temple out of gold isn't. - pOwErEdByNOS, on 11/08/2008, -2/+13Every base has some sort of chapel. It allows the military personnel to participate in their religion of choice; whether it be Christianity or Islam or whatever they chose to practice. Not providing a place of worship would kinda impede on their freedom of religion.
- inactive, on 11/08/2008, -0/+10the interiors will be small.
the problem with making "non-square" buildings is that you lose enormous amount of space to make 'carvatures' and other fancy stuff.
since people sell by the square meter, that makes bizzare buildings more in the venue of show off and art. - fuzzy889, on 11/08/2008, -0/+10Dugg for being on one page.
- Tychee, on 11/08/2008, -0/+9When I get rich I will build one strange house for myself too :)
I like the UFO house the most. - hoikarnage, on 11/08/2008, -0/+8Container houses lol... There's a project just about anyone could put together. Cube houses are pretty sweet.

- marshallpeck, on 11/08/2008, -0/+5I've been to "the hole house" in Houston, TX. It's a student art project that still stands. This is a pretty bad-ass list of buildings.

:/ - NotYourProdigy, on 11/08/2008, -2/+6*****, look at it on cid! Thanks for putting almost all 50 on one page.
- fuzzy889, on 11/08/2008, -1/+5Hey, said 50 strange buildings, I got 50 strange buildings. All in one page.
- nephilonic, on 11/08/2008, -2/+6Notice that many of the European buildings are creative, imaginative and beautiful whereas the American ones are like 'shoe' house, 'kettle' house, 'upside down' house, 'inside out' house etc etc.
- jonahan52, on 11/08/2008, -1/+5True but the Supreme Court says it does.
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+4Gherkin?
- Stroggoth, on 11/08/2008, -0/+4Um, EMP anyone? That list is really missing some big entries.
http://www.mattandkasia.com/seattle/EMP.jpg
The EMP should be near the top of that list, it "looks like what music sounds like". I think it looks like a few wads of bubble gum stuck together.
Also, the York University Scott Library:
http://www.yorku.ca/yorkweb/maps/tour/disk1/img001 ...
Inside it is inverted, but the library starts at the bottom. - vinigrette, on 11/08/2008, -0/+4I must be retarded.. when I load the google cache, it doesn't show images.. is that my fault? (I use Firefox) - a setting or something? Thanks :)

- Plotinus, on 11/08/2008, -1/+5WTF? Barcelona but no mention of Sagrada Familia? At first I thought ok, too famous, but there were lots of famous houses as well as the not so famous.
- Monkey12, on 11/08/2008, -2/+6Basically Zervaman your an *****. Perhaps the military should get rid of the Chaplin in every military branch just to save some of our tax dollars. Quit being an ass hat.

- FutureGuy, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3The Agbar building (#50) looks like a giant, ladies toy.
- bonk2k, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3I'm pretty sure the one in the picture is from Branson, MO. I know the one in Branson looks just like that, but Ripley's may have several buildings that are torn apart.
- LeonidasStokely, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3I'm moving to London next year, but I wish I was moving to London City so I could see all of this great unusual architecture.
- xan18, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3The story behind Habitat 67 is really cool
