- Frozo, on 04/02/2009, -0/+23So... you copied one?
- Altair27, on 04/02/2009, -0/+15*50 Beautiful and Creative Logo Designs That Will Inspire You...
... to create a logo. - LeechesOfKarma, on 04/02/2009, -1/+11I'm sick of rainbow overlays and gradients on logos! Wasn't there supposed to be some sort of grunge/illustration trend to come and kill this off?
- diggaddictive, on 04/02/2009, -0/+6These are not awful. But they aren't wonderful, either.
- solid12345, on 04/02/2009, -0/+5Paul Rand would ***** his pants in shock if he were alive, a good logo should be able to work in 1 color as well, these would all be a ink splot mess if printed on shipping packages or B&W corporate sheets.
- solid12345, on 04/02/2009, -0/+5Good artists copy, great artists paste.
- LordBacon, on 04/02/2009, -0/+5Correction : to *copy a logo.
- Battlecry, on 04/02/2009, -4/+8They look like they were all done by the same person. Putting a guy's portfolio up and calling it beautiful and creative just makes me think "spam"
- digitalArtform, on 04/02/2009, -0/+3Some are more logo treatments than logos.
Many would never survive small and in black and white. - djHBRD, on 04/02/2009, -0/+3Not inspiring, but a few of them were pretty clever.
- FaithclubDotNet, on 04/02/2009, -2/+5It didn't inspire me, unless you count writing this comment.
- IFEice, on 04/02/2009, -0/+2yea, that did jack ***** for me.
- bushy, on 04/02/2009, -0/+2***** hack.
- TheNepenthe, on 04/02/2009, -0/+2Bananasfilm is probably the best one. Even though I hate bananas.
- scoottie, on 04/02/2009, -1/+2very generic also
- mobhit101, on 04/02/2009, -1/+2Unfortunately, "shocked" was the only one (in my opinion of course) that really stood out to me...
Title should read, "50 Beautiful and Creative designs that MAY inspire you" - GalacticRerun, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Should we just put a disclaimer on everything that uses the term inspire or inspiration? Seeing as it's not guaranteed. Then also on the terms enjoy, have fun, etc.
- WhistlinTom, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Hey Featured Gallery at LogoPond.com in a single blog post. What's up?
- defectDS, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1I bed to differ. CastlePrint and Share Effect are marvelous.
And Shocked; HA!
=o - digitalArtform, on 04/02/2009, -1/+2Some of them, like 'fold it,' seem to be logo solutions in search of a client problem to solve. Designing logos in a vacuum is a fine exercise, but the trick is to address a client's needs, not say, 'hey, I made this logo. Does anyone know of a company that might fit it?'
---
Maybe Folding@home could use it...
http://folding.stanford.edu/ - Frozo, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1I think its going to be stripped down even further first. Lets just hope for losing reflections and shading in corporate logos and then after we get bored of that we can muss things up! :)
- GalacticRerun, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Maybe some of those companies don't require that. While it's a good general rule, did you get to see the design brief for them? Where they going to be used etc.
- shinkou, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Maybe I was influenced by something, but I don't seem to like too many rounded corners.
- buddysystem, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Exactly. Not very many of them are telling me about the product they're trying to sell and most of them are for film companies or ad firms anyway. There are a few nice exceptions, though.
- isheee, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Most of them are blah and so done. The one I like, though, is "SHOCKED." I like how the design has subtle double meaning. But I have a feeling that I've seen it somewhere before.
- Meep3D, on 04/02/2009, -1/+2Really, everyone bashing these logos should first have to either:
A: Put up 20 logos that you think are original and creative.
and/or
B: Put up some original/creative logo designs you did yourself.
I don't think there is a single 'art' thread on this whole site that doesn't largely consist of people pretending like they are experts by bashing whatever is put up, irrespective of how good it is. - Meep3D, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1all? So despite that fact that 10 are actually monochrome (or near it) and double that could be converted to B&W with little effort, they would "all be a ink splot mess"?
- Torturor, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Looks like they were done by the same person, is this an ad?
- Brooks007, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Good rule of thumb...but this is 2009.
But I agree..They are not very good logos. - hasslinthehoff, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1I guess as long as they solely for web use, then they are fine, but anything outside of that and you'll have some problems with reproducing them. Sign of the times, I guess.
- xcrex, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1I can show you my art if you'd like. It is all 100% original, all my sketches are done with black pen and they are totally random, uninspired by the outside world, only my own mental imagery of what looks dope. I may have influences but I don't need to "hide my sources".
- Brooks007, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1That is the best one...
the rest are not great at all... just normal crap - isheee, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Those are logos of famous companies and are thus memorable, familiar and have been part of our consciousness (example, McDonald's golden arches). These logos were mentioned by the author as simply creative, but not belonging to famous companies so they don't matter much to us.
- scrubzor, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1I think the first sign of a good logo is wether or not its design is timeless. Logos for companies such as CBS, ABC, Mobil, Volkswagen, NBC, FedEx, Delta, have been around for ages and still remain relevant today. This list of logos is going to be outdated in a few years, people will look at this collection and think these logos are of the trendy vector style logos that were popular in the late 2000s.
- 09007, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1simplicity ftw.
- companylogos, on 08/12/2009, -0/+0If you need to find a logo designer who is reasonable just visit http://www.companylogos.ws/
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 04/02/2009, -1/+1These only inspired to me to continue avoiding a career in design.
- Brooks007, on 04/02/2009, -1/+1You are obviously not a designer or artist...and have probably never created anything
“The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.”
~Albert Einstein - logostudies, on 04/07/2009, -0/+0I've already seen some of the logos from that collection before. There are more better logos that are worth replacing with some of these. Otherwise, some of these are well done.
- lutz1bm, on 04/02/2009, -0/+0QLink Taxi = Mega Man enemy (Met)?
- alanocu, on 04/02/2009, -12/+11Great stuff. Been trying to come up with a logo idea for a customer, and this nailed it for me.
- anklesnap, on 04/02/2009, -3/+2Great logo's to inspire you for creating....good collection
- xcrex, on 04/02/2009, -8/+2How is someone elses logo going to inspire me? That's not being very creative.
- woofers07, on 04/02/2009, -7/+1Take note young designers, notice the lack of drop shadows and one-click filters. Not to mention the simplicity, yet hundreds of man hours went into most of these.
- sanjayvyas21, on 04/02/2009, -6/+0amazing dsigns. all logos are excellent.
- swagv, on 04/01/2009, -13/+5Highly redundant though... like 50 riffs on the same company logo.
