- ThePowerDigger, on 03/09/2009, -1/+15The "Cool 3D logo" tutorial is exactly what I've been looking for.
- iSeven, on 03/09/2009, -1/+12Illustrator is underrated when it comes to 3D graphics. Coupled with Swift3D, it's an awesome way to create animations
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -1/+12Illustrator is great, I'm just starting to learn it, these will keep me busy for a while.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 03/09/2009, -0/+9Anyone else catch that the reflection is dead wrong?
- absolutelytrue, on 05/26/2009, -0/+9Did anyone else catch the 4:20 reference on the LCD Alarm clock tutorial?
- nawill81, on 03/09/2009, -0/+9ha, nice catch
- MrX8503, on 03/09/2009, -0/+7Adobe Illustrator is quite powerful.
You should also look into the "Gradient Mesh" tool and honestly, the tool is pretty much an entire program in itself to learn.
This is what Gradient Mesh can do if you become a master at it.

- MtheoryX, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3You're missing the point here.
Sure it would make sense just to take a picture if you're going for photorealism; however, consider a few things:
1) What if the subject is not real at all, but you want to make it appear real?
2) What if the subject is not easily photographed realistically? This includes high altitude, long distances, undersea, microscopic, outer space, harsh climate, etc.
3) What if you didn't want just a 2 dimensional representation of a 3d object? What if you wanted an actual 3d object you could rotate and examine?
Using Gradient Mesh and 3d techniques for the example you mentioned would be pointless; however, that doesn't mean there aren't fantastic uses for it. - jaygeeze, on 03/09/2009, -1/+4My favorite tutorial is the "Cola" tutorial, the results look very realistic.
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3Don't get me wrong I am a graphic designer and use the gradient mesh everyday, but just see replicating EXISTING photographs pointless. Definitely you would use illustrator to depict as you mention scientific matter that is not easily photographed.
- JackpotCity, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3Six Revisions is the *****!
- isurfaddict, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2Great tutorial! Cheers.

- MtheoryX, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Ah, sorry then... I think I just misunderstood you.
- finista, on 03/09/2009, -1/+3Sorry, I don't smoke weed, so could you explain me the meaning of this?
- Ridikul, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Incorrect verb positions don't make a sentence.
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -1/+2While indeed cool, all those projects of people re-creating Angelina Jolie in Illustrator or whatever is a waste of time. You'd do better as a designer to just take a photo with a high DPI.
- ImTheManWhoRU, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1me too but I could use GIMP to do the same thing with 90% of those pictures it would just take a little longer.
- IamNomad, on 03/09/2009, -2/+2amazing list of tutorials.
- rgbg66, on 07/07/2009, -0/+0Thanks for these excellent tutorials
