- itrollu, on 03/14/2009, -2/+11I've always found Papyrus to be the best multipurpose font for design purposes.
- peterjmag, on 03/14/2009, -1/+8Nope, Comic Sans for sure.
- Syric, on 03/14/2009, -0/+4Serpentine, anyone?
- log1k, on 03/14/2009, -1/+4Simple amazing!
- serif69, on 03/14/2009, -0/+3I've never seen so many "inspiring" uses of Arial Rounded in my life. I think I might vomit.
- wonderbriefs, on 03/14/2009, -0/+3Don't know why you're dugg down for that.
"Text Typography"
As opposed to verbal typography?
Also, since when is 3D typography a "hot new trend?" - sergiorly, on 03/14/2009, -0/+3Any tutorials?
- rd1010, on 03/15/2009, -0/+2Cool these actually aren't that hard to make in 3ds max or maya
- inactive, on 03/14/2009, -2/+4Wow. Did the world just discover extrude modifiers and 3d apps? I guess maybe people who use macs did. Please don't let this be the next wet - floor.
- Skeith3294, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2dugg for the mars volta near the foreground in the second text example!
- findhostcoupons, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2I like 3D text design examples placed at your site very much! Thumb up for benb24!
- FTLJohnson, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2You are not crazy. I guess the article cropped it so they would all be the same size on the page, but the full design is far more illuminating. http://pzuh.deviantart.com/art/Four-Letters-for-Th ...
- serif69, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2You guys are forgetting Party LET.
- misskari, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2Serpentine is totally appropriate for ANYTHING.
- RooDoG, on 03/14/2009, -1/+3Typography is one of my favorite things about graphic design in general! Loved this! One of my favorite things right now is Typographic Animation... like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAuQmJzt_q0
- dashdingo, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2http://twitter.com/naldzgraphics - Naldz Graphics on twitter. Pretty much every hour or so another link to a collection of tutorials or designs are posted.
- Skeith3294, on 03/14/2009, -1/+2Good point.
- misskari, on 03/14/2009, -1/+2I find their little anime mascot very irritating.
- isiz, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1If I wanted to see junkies ***** I'd just go downtown
- Jpesci, on 03/15/2009, -0/+1I'm sure you could do it with Maya or Cinema4d, etc. It'd be rendered first in a 3d program then imported into PS where it's given all the aesthetic touches. But a lot of things like reflections and bump-mapping could be done in the 3d app.
- Dodobutt222, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1Am I crazy, or does #17 say "*****?"
- rd1010, on 03/15/2009, -0/+1these are probably made with a 3D modeling software you douche.. yes they are 3D
- rd1010, on 03/15/2009, -0/+1You can turn them into animations if you wanted
- dasilva333, on 03/14/2009, -0/+190% of the work display there is by shiny binary FTW!
- inactive, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1You're not crazy but its #15.
- Cyberwretch, on 03/14/2009, -1/+2Shouldn't legibility be part of the text/graphics equation?
- littlememaw, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1wow those are AMAZING!!!
- Pheser, on 03/14/2009, -1/+1Welcome in the world of Graffiti. Now get lost!
- garglesand, on 03/14/2009, -0/+0What's a coming trough?
Picture 34 - musicfreak21, on 03/14/2009, -1/+1It is moments like these where I feel less of a human being.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 03/14/2009, -1/+1Bzzt. The answer is Wingdings!
- YME1280, on 03/13/2009, -3/+3Great inspiration for any designer.
- MouserUK, on 03/14/2009, -2/+2Most are just extruded, some have a slight bevel or colour changes along the 'depth' and one is actually 3D but is actually just a piece of 3D art anyway. Buried as inaccurate.
- jasonleecooper, on 08/24/2009, -0/+0Inspiring stuff. Possibly an indication of graffiti coming out of it's urban birthplace into 3D.
- skjalff, on 03/14/2009, -4/+4Buried because.... just read the ***** title line.
- hawkeye22, on 03/14/2009, -1/+1Forgive my ignorance, but how is this done? I use Photoshop a lot but have never seen anything quite like these made with PS alone. Could somone please recommend the most popular tools used in developing 3d type? Also, is the 3d text usually rendered alone, then simply imported into (e.g.) Photoshop where it's given full decoration, or is some of the aesthetic work actually done in the 3d apps themselves?
Thanks. - graymachine, on 03/15/2009, -0/+0Geez. Can we all get over Nik Ainley once and for all?
- Skapocalypse, on 03/14/2009, -1/+1I love typography. I wish I could do stuff like that
- shenyhoo, on 03/14/2009, -2/+0Nice, but these 3D letters compare with 3D pictures, I prefer the pictures.Because pictures can give me more visual concussion.
- ngty69, on 03/13/2009, -7/+4All are great.. Thanks to Naldz Graphics for providing interesting design stuff..
