- inactive, on 12/20/2008, -2/+22I will stick to my 1996 geocities site
- annjay, on 12/20/2008, -5/+24These are excellent. I never seen most of them before.
- LawnMowerKitten, on 12/20/2008, -2/+19Man, I was so relieved that this was on one page instead of 40.
- mesarah, on 12/20/2008, -5/+16As usual nice post from six revisions.
- Paranoidmarvin, on 12/20/2008, -0/+9You think only the 4th one is based on CSS?
- Dailydose4me, on 12/20/2008, -5/+11Really inspiring !

man i want to punch that guys face. - ZenNemesis, on 12/20/2008, -3/+7I am now inspired!
*opens photoshop* :P - inactive, on 12/21/2008, -0/+4I think I need to partner with someone that's good at design. All my talent lies in writing and being humorous... and that's not saying much.
- joshua5, on 12/21/2008, -1/+4Whats so special about these? They look like web pages. You can get this kind of design $50 from a freelance designer.
- greeniemeani, on 12/21/2008, -1/+4I am tired of all these lists like "100 Best Photoshop Tutorials" and "75 Best Javascript Effects". How about someone just put a little more thought into their list and give only around 10 like a normal list?
- themonkmob, on 12/21/2008, -1/+4These designs aren't that wonderful. A while back I read an article about the new grunge look thats been appearing on blogs and personal websites. This is just a compilation of just that AND its not even being used very well! Take a look at their readability, when you first reach the page where does your eye go? It doesn't know where to go! The grunge just kills the simplicity. Take a look at how clutterred they are with links everywhere and other "designy art" on the page that only confuses the reader. These aren't good designs, theyre just flashy. Theres nothing simple about these pages.
- inactive, on 12/21/2008, -0/+3link?
- xParker, on 12/21/2008, -0/+3it's not top 40. its 40 excellent blog designs in general.
- dotsona, on 12/21/2008, -0/+3Why are they burying you?
- hijohnmark, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2This is what I want to do when I grow up.
- Luanialus, on 12/21/2008, -0/+2Inspiring designs, which makes me wonder, you all wouldn't know of a great site someone putting together a non-profit could go to, to learn how to create a "passable" web site for some decent presence? I'm "techy" enough to try and figure it out on my own, of course I'm always up for taking help, but I've not done any web site creation since the days of html, and I'd like my non profit site to be a little more up to date than that :-) Sorry its so off topic, but there's such a collection of eclectic talent here, I thought for sure someone would know. The blog for the non profit is visionteachervietnam.blogspot.com and my email is visionteacher@gmail.com if you'd rather email me privately. Hope someone knows something. Thanks!
- rdvon, on 12/21/2008, -0/+2*Opens the GIMP.
- TPSwill, on 12/20/2008, -0/+2They are wonderful!
- gaphxro, on 12/20/2008, -0/+2If the numbers get to 300 or more, and the sites get indexed, by colour, or theme, or something, than it will be more valorous than the "Web-Index Book" wich has like 300 sites indexed by different criteria.
Awesome designs and great work to put them all together. Curios about the criteria of choosing them too.
@digglatin - you seem to be right, but hey ! if people apreciate design and they ask for design and lists of design, they get lists of design everyday. Or at least so it seems. - altpass, on 12/22/2008, -0/+1It`s really beautiful )
Too bad, that there is no any description of each in those 40. - Haplo, on 12/20/2008, -1/+2You must be new then: http://digg.com/design/100_Websites_With_Outstandi ...
- TaintBrush, on 12/20/2008, -6/+7That's pretty cool! MY problem is that, while I can tell the difference between a good and bad design, I simply cannot make my own. I suck.
- Jameselle, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1The design was really great. Its so nice and beautiful.
http://babyforcempire.blogspot.com - moonshyne, on 01/02/2009, -0/+0It started out bad and then got to some really nice ones
- tomprocter, on 01/05/2009, -0/+0Come on folk, if you don't like the 25 best of this and that, then just hit "next" in NewsFire or whatever you use. Im relatively new to digg so I kind of enjoy these at the moment, if the times comes where I feel the same, I'll be sure to hit next.
These are some tidy designs, and they are very inspiring indeed. Game on to the creative bods! - KampungBoy007, on 01/17/2009, -0/+0Tremendous design. I like it. I hope that my blog also can be review from you all. Thank you.
http://evolusiinternet.com/blog - prematik, on 02/01/2009, -0/+0Amazing design and that's how business blog should look like .
- paranoyalarim, on 04/03/2009, -0/+0wow some design amazing.

http://paranoyalarim.com/ - promoteu258, on 12/20/2008, -1/+1Great look blogs look very nice
- jdbaok, on 12/20/2008, -2/+2OK - with 100 million blogs out there, how did these 40 manage to show up here? What was the selection criteria? I'm not saying that these aren't very nice - I was just wondering who was making the call.
- aarondicks, on 12/21/2008, -1/+1overdone
- jaygeeze, on 12/20/2008, -4/+4There's a good mix of designs in here, this is great! Personally, I like the minimalistic and clean designs, like Jason Santa Maria's site (which I just found out designed A List Apart's website).
And THANK YOU for having this in one single page, I'm really getting tired of the "slideshow" BS going on around the web these days. - AparoidX, on 12/20/2008, -3/+3They look nice and all, but uh...
I don't really see the big deal here. - HeelToeHero, on 12/20/2008, -4/+3That's a lot of quality design! It seems like That INDIE Dude and Veerleās blog make it onto every Great/Beautiful/Excellent Blog design list (I'm not saying they're not awesome, they're just everywhere).
- acca, on 12/20/2008, -5/+4I like "The Organic Supermarket", too. In fact, there are so many great designs there.
Thanks. - Coestar, on 12/20/2008, -4/+3This article and comments are a near carbon copy of the ones from yesterday: http://digg.com/design/100_Websites_With_Outstandi ...
- digglatin, on 12/20/2008, -2/+1Great sites here but I have to say I don't see how these same lists keep getting dugg up so high. I see the same ones over and over and yes they are all nice photoshop efforts. However every 2 days there is a new list of "beautiful" sites and somehow they make it front page every time.
- mogglas, on 12/20/2008, -5/+3thatindiedude.com was awesome, cool blog too! (i'm not him) :P
- kodybryson, on 12/20/2008, -4/+2Is there a way we can filter posts with numbers in them out of our feeds? I'm so sick of these "25 ways to be a bigger design douchebag" and "35 way to start a 'design blog' but really just post lots of lists" posts.
- inactive, on 12/20/2008, -5/+2A lot of good designs, but a good handful of these almost seem like stock Wordpress themes.
- campodiez, on 12/20/2008, -6/+2These are some really impressive designs!
Thanks for sharing - ipen, on 12/20/2008, -7/+2Wow! Happy to see Vancouver record label Boompa ( http://www.boompa.ca ) is on their list! I love their stuff!
- branndon, on 12/20/2008, -7/+2For my inspiration?!? I want to download them and save me the work.... yeah I know, lazy generation.... GIVE ME INSTANT GRATIFICATION! lol
- sarahjoaustin, on 12/20/2008, -8/+3Great set of designs for inspiration!
- roastedbagel, on 12/20/2008, -7/+2Dugg for the guy surfing a nasty Teauhupoo wave in the BOOOOOOOOOM blog photo.
