- cjung89, on 05/26/2009, -3/+22why are all the good ones at the bottom?
- annjay, on 05/26/2009, -9/+24In single word, its "Mindblowing" 3d art pieces...Great work guys.
- benjic, on 05/26/2009, -2/+15The one that says "No art theft" ironically isn't by the person that put it on flickr, but the original artists name evades me, maybe someone else knows, he's on deviantart.
- inactive, on 05/26/2009, -0/+13I don't know why you're being dugg down
the original artist is here http://divineerror.deviantart.com/
He made that picture you mentioned and all of the other images credited to the same wrong guy.
I used to play UT2004 with the guy - nomoreink, on 05/26/2009, -3/+14If you want to try your hand at 3D modeling or rendering, try Blender, it's 100% open source. http://www.blender.org
- handman1, on 05/26/2009, -0/+9They are not the Nazi swastikas(they are bent the wrong way). They are Buddhist symbols. If you didn't notice each of the kids is sporting several religious symbols on their backs.
- sirjimithy, on 05/26/2009, -0/+9Absolutely incredible! Makes me want to start watching some Maya training videos.
- alclone, on 05/26/2009, -5/+13dugg for ass and titties :D
- ZeeZee2k, on 05/26/2009, -0/+8http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=121
- waisosrs, on 05/26/2009, -1/+6several of these are less than impressive, most of them are far outside of my ability to do at the moment though.
- m0og0o, on 05/26/2009, -0/+5half of these aren't even credited correctly. Every "cool art" digg article I see is written by someone unfamiliar with the medium and totally f's up crediting the artists.
- BlackOculus, on 05/26/2009, -1/+5Saving the best for last?
- 1337erhosen, on 05/26/2009, -0/+3exactly my words.
- oriondr, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3I only see two "swastikas" and both are going the opposite direction, so they're not swastikas.
- tidu, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3hoooooolly *****
- sildude, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3Yea, if you want to see good stuff, you gotta know where to look.
- overridemymind, on 05/26/2009, -1/+4Then apparantly you're doing it wrong.
Either that, or your local crafts fair totally kicks ass. - 1337erhosen, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2Jebus… not a single bad word about the artists here, but why on earth do we see post like this on Digg? Seriously 500 diggs because he goofed around on deviantART for 10 seconds...?
As mentioned earlier go to: http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=121 instead. - digitalArtform, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2LuciFerAngel - Flickr?
At least one of those is a Steven Stahlberg
http://www.androidblues.com/ - Zpanzer, on 05/26/2009, -1/+3I'm sorry, I can't digg this article if they don't even mention Marek Denko, he is probably one of the best guys out in the field today, you can see his work here:
http://www.marekdenko.net/
Check out his stuff, it's a-ma-zing
He works with 3D studio Max and V-Ray. - mrBitch, on 05/27/2009, -0/+2Even more amazing is if the guy had given the correct artist credits, for more of Steven Stalhberg's art :
http://bit.ly/3dandroid
(also: check out the cool "fight with your boyfriend" cgi movie)
Also : http://bit.ly/3DcgiGallery - SolidSteve, on 05/28/2009, -0/+2Even more ironic is the same artist that created the "No Art Theft" piece created one of a pirate with a bag of MP3s behind him. is that not art theft? (music is an art)
- overridemymind, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2Blender's got a horribly steep learning curve, though (at least, it did when I used it last -- I dunno how far its interface has come. It's been years since I used it last.) I prefer to model in lightwave and render using a different render engine. But I should point out that I totally suck at modelling organics. A good open-source modelling program for beginners is Art of Illusion.... man, I should get back into 3D.
- nard3456, on 05/27/2009, -0/+2It's easi-er now.
- macattak420, on 05/27/2009, -0/+2When I saw the first one I was thinking this is gonna be very fun and entertaining, but that thought slowly diminished along with my interest. (Yes im trying to sound smart when im not and yes that is how i really feel)
- nepidae, on 05/27/2009, -0/+2they are all swastikas, nazi is just a specific swastika.
edit: As for buddhist and nazi in the image, one is buddhist due to it having the dots in in, the other is probably nazi. - MrObjectional, on 05/29/2009, -0/+1I'm trying to get all the symbols in that pic (left to right)-
- green flag with 3 waves- symbol of active intellect (http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/02/0215.html%2 ...
- traditional swastika
- star of david
- islamic crescent
- peace sign
- black panthers emblem
- german iron cross
- confederate flag
- white power symbol, KKK
- Christian cross
- Jewish badge, nazi origin
- dove peace symbol
- communist hammer and sickle
- christian fish
- swastika (traditional in direction, but nazi in lack of dots)
anyone else have other interpretations? - FastZ, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1I like the snow.
- ryrocker, on 06/14/2009, -0/+1i really like the one with the snail and his "shell" strapped to his back
its a very fun piece - mrBitch, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1RE: http://www.marekdenko.net/
that, and http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=121 - DivineMonkey, on 05/26/2009, -2/+3And this is why i love deviantart.
- graphire, on 05/28/2009, -0/+1They may not be the best 3D arts.. but they're good.
- barthrh, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1Go to his flickr stream -- it's mostly poached work. It's clear that it's not his, but it's wrong for this page to appear to give him credit.
- artfiend77, on 05/27/2009, -1/+2Like the White Power sign and Confederate flag? Both the Hindu swastika AND the Nazi swastika are portrayed. Communism is also portrayed. The second star of David eludes me though.
- waterboy1628, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1dugg for soap and water
- dinostabOMG, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1most were pretty good, the first two might as well have been chrome balls over a checkerboard though
- sildude, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1exactly.
- palehorse864, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1You're Art!!!!
Well... assuming that is what your parents named you. - redbytex, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1Some really good stuff posted there.
I hadn't seen the last one before - it's absolutely chilling! Great use of lighting and a perfectly chosen color palette. The expression on both the girl and the snake are terrifying!
By the way, if anyone is interested, I've posted a list of 6 Amazing Animated Shorts:

- DeadSheep, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1...isnt one of those just a screen from the ghost rider movie? yuck.
- ViscidGobs, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1Legit question. Are all these works of art cgi or are some cgi and others different methods?
- misterparry, on 05/27/2009, -1/+1HOLY SH*T!
