Also, for being all on one page. You don't see that too often these days. - MMusick, on 03/16/2009, -0/+75These are great, especially the Escher ones.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2193/2108119109_d53 ... - EdGasket, on 03/16/2009, -0/+23You sure know a lot about Denmark and the danes.
The Danish resistance helped evacuate 95% of the Jewish population of the country in the Second World War.
The Dutch rounded up most of their Jewish population and handed them over out of fear of retribution.
The Danes, and Scandinavians in general, are far more tolerant of minorities than most other communities.
Also, re: the Muslim cartoon thing: The Danes are not anti-Muslim, they are strongly opposed to oppression of free speech and have a strong sense of social justice. Since cartoons do not actually harm anyone, many saw no problem printing these (and I agree with them).
The Danish Government are part of the "coalition of the willing", have supported both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and until recently had troops in (at least, if not both) countries. However, as with the UK, there was strong opposition to the war amongst the population.
In summary, you don't know *****. - twiztidsinz, on 03/16/2009, -1/+20And I'm anti-you.
- V-Mob, on 03/16/2009, -1/+17wtf is with the ads ''kids shouldn't watch too much tv''??
- antoniuk, on 03/16/2009, -0/+12Labeling a whole country based on 3rd or even 4th hand information is bigotry. It would be like saying the southern state you come from are all klan member, gun toting, inbreds.
see I don't even know if you are fomr the south, you could be form Indiana for all I know but I made a gernalizatoin based on stereotypes and I love the south.

- EdGasket, on 03/16/2009, -0/+5I lived in Denmark for 7 years. It even says it in my profile!
Evacuation of the Jews from Denmark:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rescue_of_the_Danish_ ...
(This is also a well documented piece of history taught in Danish schools, and my grandparents were part of the Danish resistance who harboured Jews before their evacuation to Sweden)
Danish printing of Muhammed cartoons:
A widely discussed news story with valid arguments on both sides. As someone who has lived there and was brought up there, I can tell you that Danes have a very strong social conscience and do not tolerate oppression of free speech. This can even be seen in the Second World War (see above).
Danish government support of the Iraqi war:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multinational_Force_I ...
Denmark committed 545 troops to Iraq - a relatively large number considering the size of the country and military.
Obviously there are better sources than Wikipedia related to these issues, but the basic point is, you shouldn't cast dispersions on a whole nation or group of people. You seem very concerned about anti Semitism, anti-Islam and anti-American attitudes, yet you seem anti-Danish! - XkenX87, on 03/16/2009, -0/+4LEGO PERVS

- Dougman82, on 03/17/2009, -0/+3There are only two kinds of people that would write "gr8" or any other similar shortening. First, the retards from the late 90's that decided that 1337, or l33t-speak was somehow cool. Second, the retards that got in on shortening their words for cell phone text messaging, and then somehow decided that the same grammar could be used acceptably everywhere else.
- geekworking, on 03/16/2009, -0/+3The Escher ones were posted and discussed a while ago. The creators mentioned that they had to do some tricks that would not be compatible with a production Lego set (like gluing blocks).
