- xythian, on 10/14/2008, -1/+11I really like the classic movie poster examples. I feel like movie posters are a bit of a lost form and it's nice to see modern graphic designers paying tribute to a classic media.
- JonnyCasino, on 10/14/2008, -1/+5oooh thank you for this post. I'm an avid 'shopper and love to infuse new things in my creations. I have been focusing on comic art, and my primary method is freeform and using different filters and treatments for photos. The "Give Your Photos a Retro Comic Book Effect" is very simple and fast [a lot faster than my method] to achieve the look. I highly recommended it for those who wants to start on some comic art with existing images.
- louiebaur, on 10/14/2008, -1/+7Nice I can go back to the old days and re create a Retro Style Game Controller.
- writr, on 10/14/2008, -1/+6Even in 2008, retro designs like these just blow me away. The comic book one is probably my favorite or the mustang design.
- nourayehia, on 10/14/2008, -1/+3My favorite is the grunge poster tutorial, very well written.
I find it really helpful to have these kind of posts, specially when i am looking for a certain Photoshop effect. - annjay, on 10/14/2008, -1/+2I really like retro and vintage style design. That is why I am always in the search of these kind of photoshop tutorials. Great collection
- aaronhoffmeyer, on 10/15/2008, -3/+2I thought from the title that they were OLD Photoshop tutorials ... like from Photoshop 3.
- eliburford, on 10/15/2008, -0/+4I'm happy to say I have a featured tutorial in this SM roundup! The "Sweet Radio Station Advert Design" is mine :)
- LowROI, on 10/15/2008, -0/+2nice job man!
- LowROI, on 10/15/2008, -0/+3Is it just me, or do sites like PSDtuts and Smashingmagazine just seem to re-hash the same old tutorials from one another. Don't get me wrong, the content is good, and I'm sure the guy at PSHero probably loves the added visitors, but I've probably seen 75% of these tutorials before :(
- Swerengen, on 10/15/2008, -0/+0great work on the Fifties postage envelope tutorial by Rafik Massoud- my fav
might mess around with the vintage map one as well =) - mtwolf, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1gratz on writing for smashing, great first article!
- theadvinci, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1I guess I'm not really a retro person. Don't understand why people love this sort of stuff.
