thepoliticalcat, on 02/26/2008, -3/+12Frankly, as cute as these bookshelves might be, none of them are useful for the serious book lover, bookworm, book collector, or reader. They're not very practical, either, especially if you have pets or small children, or live in earthquake country.
- Peko, on 02/26/2008, -0/+6I think you're being a bit harsh. I agree many are impractical to varying degrees, but some are pretty reasonable. And also remember that some people put a premium on design and they might just find the bookshelf they want.
  
  Personally, I do have quite a few books. I read them, have a stack on my night side table, and keep the rest in boxes.

Skateboard shelf is a piece of furniture that every skateboard lover would tell your that is awesome. I know that because last month I’ve meet someone who is in love with skateboarding, and he fall in love with this piece of furniture.

Some of these bookshelves are just absolutely ridiculous design. Pretty, yes but ridiculous. Pure novelty items at best. I would go on more about this but I'll just get angrier so I'll leave it at that.

bosssmiley, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the roll-able shelves. What an ingenious "why did no-one think of it before?" idea. I also liked the wall of diagonal pigeonholes (Greco-Roman style shelving ftw!) and Vintage Shelf's negative image case.
A lot of the rest are just form-over-function art student toss though.
