- zip000, on 05/22/2009, -7/+27Wow, not one comment is above zero.
I'm guessing this one won't be either; at least it starts out as +1. Sigh. - gemlarin, on 05/22/2009, -0/+8Dont be a dick. The best way to learn photoshop, and most adobe programs in general are through tutorials. I assume you just magically knew how to use the program? What a douche you are.
- Subduction, on 05/22/2009, -0/+5So, in your world, how does someone progress from being "people who don't know how to use Photoshop" to people who do?
Is there some beaming technology you have access to that doesn't involve walking through common techniques as a way of learning its capabilities? - Phearce, on 05/22/2009, -0/+5You're right: everybody should stop trying to improve themselves because they'll never be as good as you. How fortunate you are to have innate photoshop knowledge.
- Colinho22, on 05/24/2009, -0/+3Hehe. I like *insert strange fetish porn here* but nobody will know because I will be dugg down.
- 7aji, on 05/23/2009, -0/+2gonna try that, I love to use dark gradients, but posterization appears sometimes. It's like there aren't enough colors sometimes ;)
- Subduction, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2That's a good idea.
- m4xn00b, on 05/23/2009, -0/+2ever heard of the bury brigade?
- hamstergirl, on 05/23/2009, -0/+1I tried it a few years ago and it was a very nice tutorial. He also has a planet one here: http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/makin ...
- 7aji, on 05/23/2009, -0/+1You didn't sound that sarcastic. You actually sounded like some douche bag who doesn't know what he is talking about.
- murgeanu, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1useful; thank you!!
- Philbert, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1Just because it shows it step by step doesn't mean you have to follow it step by step. Just take the parts of it that you need. I use lots of tutorials like this but I've never made the final product as shown in the tutorial, I've used little bits from individual steps to help with my own work.
- Subduction, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1Yes, you do that, but only after using the tools in the context of a structured demonstration to see how they work.
Outside of a structured demonstration project, how do you propose to show how these tools work and interact?
I'm curious, walk me through your apparently unique pedagogical method. - Jawalls, on 08/28/2009, -0/+0very nice abstract images http://www.jawalls.com/abstracts-11.html
- BigLou, on 05/22/2009, -3/+3A good PS tutorial is one that explains the tools and functions of the software. I just resent tutorials for complete designs that show it step-by-step and allow for a complete novice to pull off an exact reproduction. Learn the software, imagine, explore, design, and create something truly original for yourself.
- Lyricas, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0It's sound interesting but it's only lyrica - i hope to see some more fundamental like Users opinion not only links and short comments.
http://digg.com/users/Lyricas - moco88, on 05/22/2009, -0/+0Or alternatively, these could show someone NEW to photoshop what you can do with it, and sending them in the right direction could be a possible usage of the tutorials. Perhaps there are even people out there intelligent enough to extrapolate a technique from merely viewing a tutorial. Hope I didn't use too many big words for you. You should check out this really cool vocabulary tutorial I just used....
- 7aji, on 05/23/2009, -5/+4What's up with digging everybody down?
"these tutorials suck!" -9
"these tutorials rock!" -8
You can't be always too good for a list to tutorials. While I agree some of them aren't really from the scratch, others got some interesting techniques.
and I guess my comment will be dug down by both sides as well?? - KSUdesigner, on 05/22/2009, -1/+1http://lmgtfy.com/?q=abstract+photoshop+tutorials
- zzzpoohzzz, on 05/23/2009, -4/+3bury brigade.... welcome!
- gemlarin, on 05/22/2009, -3/+2Agreed.
- crashlock, on 05/22/2009, -9/+8With all of the gradients featuring in those, can I suggest a little tip I've found to help prevent posterization - When your done, just add a very tiny bit of noise. :)
- inactive, on 05/23/2009, -2/+1c00l
- damntourists, on 05/23/2009, -4/+3i swear to god, these microsoft ads that digg allowed on this website are REALLY getting on my nerves.
- BigLou, on 05/22/2009, -4/+1HAHAHAHA! I was being completely sarcastic. I don't want a single website with all these tutorials on it. I don't want a single list in the first place. Tutorials should be used to teach tools and options in PS, not how to actually create things. People follow a tutorial that spells out EVERYTHING and think they are design masters.
Rubbish! - gemlarin, on 05/22/2009, -8/+4Some nice simple tuts in there. For anyone interested in getting down and dirty with Photoshop, I have found Psdtuts to be the best place, from a pure designers approach. Gland to see that the blogger pulled a few from that source. As a side note, for 9 bucks a month you can get all the source files from psdtuts, including tons of awesome brushes, fonts, etc.
Sorry if I sound like I am advertising for them, but a friend turned me on to them a few months ago and I just wanted to share. - thefourcast, on 05/22/2009, -12/+7Thanks, being in the web development world I can never have too many tutorials :)
- tonychenyj, on 05/22/2009, -9/+4The "Make a Realistic Star Field" looks cool. I am definetly going to try this tutorial.
- moco88, on 05/22/2009, -5/+0Agreed, I currently have like 18 different bookmarks for cool Photoshop effects I've stumbled across during random browsing; having a single site would be much more convienient
- perrycklo, on 05/22/2009, -7/+2That's the best I have even seen. Very good!
- Bobby1978, on 05/22/2009, -7/+2Some of these are really lame. Pre-load ready-made things, then do a bunch of filters on them? Yeah, thanks...
- radish01001, on 05/22/2009, -8/+2At first it was humorous to see amateurs touting the same styles, now it's just annoying.
- Pitak89, on 05/22/2009, -8/+2Abstract art in photoshop is kind of a joke.
- waxdart, on 05/22/2009, -9/+230 Best Examples of People Wanking With Filters. Must See! Title Says It All!
Also blogspam! - webdevray, on 05/22/2009, -11/+3Awesome list! Those effects looks very attractive. I guess it's time to do play with my Photoshop again...
- BigLou, on 05/22/2009, -17/+3Great! Another list of crap-tastic "tutorials" for people who don't know how to use Photoshop. Someone should make a top 500 list compiled of random PS tutorial lists I'd never have enough time or interest to go through.
