- ha3er0, on 06/16/2009, -7/+70Vote me up if you use pirated copy of Photoshop.
- tim507, on 10/13/2008, -0/+13Vector vs. Bitmap my friend.
- nyde, on 10/12/2008, -1/+13When I first learned Photoshop a few years ago you had to use Illustrator for illustration and vector work because photoshop's drawing tools weren't as powerful. Nowadays you can use it for high quality illustrations! Photoshop will never be better than vector-based apps but for people who can't afford the whole suite Photoshop is more than capable.

- ototest1, on 10/12/2008, -0/+9Wow, the "Green Apple" illustration is superb. The reflection of light and addition of moisture is top notch graphics work.
- reakt80, on 10/13/2008, -1/+8Take. Your. Pills.
- topgigmedia, on 10/13/2008, -1/+7stupid comment.
- scoot2006, on 10/13/2008, -0/+6I'm sure there was a "Ring of Infinite Sorrows" tutorial in there somewhere...
- reakt80, on 10/13/2008, -1/+7Some of these are really nice, but the vast majority of this stuff can be done far more easily in Illustrator. If you are stuck using Photoshop that's one thing, but if you have the option, I'd recommend Illustrator, especially when the art you're creating is made entirely of lines. Perhaps I'm not representing the majority, but I use both programs side-by-side. Illustrator's vector & text tools are far superior and faster.
- seldon452, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6Wait, people pay for photoshop?
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5Hmm, I don't see Donnie Hoyle listed among them.
- tsitneics, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4I want to lick the apple and suck the pencil. I don't know why. I just have this urge.
- spookyturtle, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5...for srsly, people. Repeat after me. Photoshop is for raster images, illustrator is for vector, and indesign is for text layout. Yes, most start with PS vs the rest of the suite... but it isn't a do-all tool beyond seriously, seriously casual use.
- dagamer34, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Damn, never knew Photoshop could do so much.
- Nouman6, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4YES YES and YES. Awesome list, thanks.
- kaosethema, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5since 1995
- oda1, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3The internet would not be the same without Photoshop. That being said, the vector lighter is cool.
- Meocross, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3EPIC WORKS!
- wtfidontcare, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4I suck at photoshop :(
- univerio, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3[insert remark about sexual preference here]
- ISitnikov, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2Loved the car illustration thingie - might use it sometime later...
Good stuff. - alexvena, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2what would i need to study at university or college to make a living from this sort of thing?? Whats the job title called??
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2That vector illustration looks like Michael Jackson
- one2gamble, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2all I know is going back and forth between illustrator and ps drives me nuts.
- bud0011, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1i do both.... pirate and use alternate software.
- ClevelandBrown, on 10/13/2008, -1/+2"Coming up next, can bees think? A new study shows that no, they cannot."
- bud0011, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1well...that's probably the reason a license cost is:
* $1000
* a pint of blood
* your soul - saralovemuffins, on 10/16/2008, -1/+2what a jerk.
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1"Weighting Machine."
- theadvinci, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1Great collection.
- Nicoon, on 10/13/2008, -1/+2Wait. Where's this "realism" the article speak of?
- SuburbianMike, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Couldn't agree more. These illustrations look great but it's called PHOTOshop for a reason.
- fritzek, on 10/14/2008, -0/+0I liked the apple too, so I tried to make it in GIMP. It was almost the same except for lack of the warp effect, which can be replaced by applying "Curve bend" twice. YES, you can do it in the graphics editor that is free. I dont know why do these tutorials get so many DIGG. People are buying 500$ Photoshop just for fun or there are so many graphics proffesionals on DIGG?
- dagamer34, on 10/13/2008, -2/+2Photoshop doesn't do vector drawings, it's all bitmap-based, meaning you can't blow up a picture in a PSD file to extreme sizes without visible artifacts.
- uracre, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1I know, I am ashamed of myself. Sorry for not growing flowers on my butt crack and hunting unicorns at spare time.
- Swerengen, on 10/14/2008, -1/+0Might use the Atari joystick in my next project - was not very impressed with the majority of these though. Still think Illustrator is the way to go for high impact vectors IMHO
- fritzek, on 10/14/2008, -2/+0I did the apple in GIMP(mine is better and juicier) and dont know why do people pirate Photoshop.
- saintsoccerboy, on 10/13/2008, -2/+0wow!!!!!! thanks! nowadays freestuff r so accessible. i really wanna learn!
- cartman005, on 10/13/2008, -6/+4What is Adobe Illustrator for if you can do this all in Photoshop?
- passedoutghost, on 10/13/2008, -7/+6I use GIMP.....lol
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -5/+2What percent of diggers can put this to use? Besides that the tutorials are expertly made and each is shown in .jpg format so its one long image. Sweet. Not 50 pages per tutorial -http://xd-designs.com/Tutorials/Vectorcar/vectorca ...
- uracre, on 10/13/2008, -8/+2If you are not a designer/photographer/illustrator and you are not earning your life with professions like these and similar ones, why would you want to be great at photoshop? Do you think there are people out there who go around and buy doctor equipment and try to diagnose people? Actually ***** it, I am not asking you anything. Anyway, in short not everyone who has a ***** computer has to have ps and use it. If you want to resize/crop/alter images as a hobby, there are zillions of free image editing programs out there.
However, if you are occupied with one of the professions I mentioned, it is pretty retarded of you that you suck at photoshop because photoshop is a tool yet the industry standart; an ordinary designer/photographer/illustrator should be already accomplished with tools like ps, and even at the very first attempt at using similar programs, he shouldn't look at the screen like it is his first pussy. Now ***** off sweetheart.
