- Fleagleman, on 06/24/2009, -1/+20Why are all lists for designers/developers on Digg a 'must-have'?. No, I'm not saying this is a bogus list, but if I listened to Digg, I'd have no less than 5,000 'must have' items on my list.
- Neticule, on 06/24/2009, -1/+9With a little practice, anyone can do almost anything.
- dagamer34, on 06/24/2009, -1/+7I still want to know how people make stuff like this. I've spent years combing the internet for tutorials but they just show you how to make something with Photoshop/Illustrator, not teach you how to use it.
It's like continually giving me fish when I want to learn to fish on my own! - inactive, on 06/24/2009, -0/+6No. To use your analogy, they're showing you how to string a rod in one, how to cast in another, how to pull the net in yet another. You're just not putting it all together.
- flamesrule, on 06/25/2009, -0/+4additional generic appreciative comment
- thaimyshoe, on 06/24/2009, -0/+3The idea is to save time. I can see a lot of value in this already if you make websites for a living.
- opitica, on 06/25/2009, -0/+3most of the design i start with in photoshop/illustrator ends up entirely different (most of it doesn't include specific things like form elements) once i have to put together the style sheet and make it look good for all browsers so most of this ***** is irrelevant to me. more often than not im taking screenshots of the updated design in the browser and moving it to photoshop to move stuff around.
- TeeLaw, on 06/24/2009, -7/+10Very useful, thanks.
- dagamer34, on 06/25/2009, -0/+2=/
- Chalks777, on 06/25/2009, -0/+2is it that much harder to type "bookmarked"?
- Lynxist, on 06/24/2009, -4/+5Jeez, this is a awesome stash to have access to. Thanks.
- grindmygears, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1designer-cum what??
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -3/+3Must have all 27 of them? Could get messy
- AlienDev211, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0cool list... i like looking at this stuff... you get a real feel for what others use... personally, i keep my key elements pretty much the same way these guys do... I would suggest looking threw this stuff (for beginners) and taking notes, designing your own elements that you think you would use a lot (i.e. rss feed icon, shopping cart icon, logos, etc... ) and keep them all in a .psd. I would also like to throw in a suggestion to make a brush of your logos or signatures
- keyo, on 06/25/2009, -2/+2***** list, not much useful here.
- proteus8898, on 06/25/2009, -0/+0perfect for potential clients to look through to know which designers NOT to hire :D
- joshuar, on 06/24/2009, -5/+3Very nice collection! Thanks!
- Wuss, on 06/24/2009, -6/+3"designer-cum-programmer" ? wtf? now THAT would be a funny XKCD.
Some useful templates in here for some repetitive stuff. Worthy of being xmarked. - RobertWright, on 08/13/2009, -8/+5Nice Kit!!!
- ardembiniwoot, on 06/24/2009, -6/+1Really nice but with a little practice, anyone can create those out of scratch.
- DirtPile, on 06/24/2009, -7/+1Anyone else read "Starter Kits" as "Star Trek" and get real excited?
Oh ok, just me, then.
