Why wasn't Digg up there? Burried.
Only joking : )) - inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+6Uninspired, generic "Web 2.0" fare...sure they're definitely clean-looking, but I don't know about *beautiful*.
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+6I dont know about you guys but these sites are fairly generic. It's difficult to know exactly where you should be reading on some of these sites with ads covering part of the page. I tend to think most web 2.0 sites are half full of content because a majority of the time the widgets/ads on the right side are useless.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -1/+5great post man!
- Maximilian000, on 07/30/2008, -0/+4I'll give you clean.
- flipmoe, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3These pages are nice, but they're all a variation on the exact same theme (which happens to be the hosting site's theme as well).
Large masthead
Horizontal nav
Left column with text-content
Right column dedicated to ads - danib3, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3Great collection! I personally like more color, less clutter -- like zenhabits!
- wavesmachine, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3........................but why is it faster?
- subigo, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3Most of these are crap. Popular sites, sure, but crap designs.
- geoken, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3As much as I love Smashing's content, the site definitely isn't clean.
- eliburford, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Ugh, I've seen many better roundups than this. Just go to WebCreme or CSSMania for heaps of nicer designs than these.
- mrblue182, on 07/31/2008, -1/+2I've always liked arstechnica and torrentfreak.
- PchopXprs, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1I was thinking the exact same thing.
- entertainchange, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1If only WSJ used this article as a reference for their website strategerie article: http://digg.com/tech_news/Bad_Advice_in_the_Wall_S ...
- devenh, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1A very cool article with some nice examples. I'm going to use it to help me redesign my website.
- joshuaer, on 07/31/2008, -2/+2I agree with what a lot of people are saying in the comments on the site and here, most of them are the same design. One site a personally like is http://www.generation-outdoors.com/gobeta807/ i found the site a couple months ago it is a clean site but never on any ones lists but it does seem really new still.
- MidwestDigg, on 07/30/2008, -1/+1Some of them I think look dull, but they are clean. You definitely got it right though with Arstechnica.
- phibit, on 07/31/2008, -1/+1Don't forget to check out my site,

The layout is close to puke-stains on an amusement park floor. - web7in, on 03/30/2009, -0/+0Yes... the designs are clean but not colorful. i think deep color is todays style. we do deep color web site design too.

- tiggerdigger, on 07/31/2008, -1/+0slow news day, huh?
- dshPls, on 07/31/2008, -2/+1Lets be honest here... these designs are uninspiring pieces of ***** promoted to Digg so some kid can earn $3 from Google off of ads.
- goggor, on 07/31/2008, -1/+0Wtf?
- shogan191, on 07/30/2008, -7/+1I think most of those are easily navigated. The Arstechnia site is probably the closest in layout to our site.
