- kanojo1969, on 11/12/2008, -1/+8Ah, Gizmodo, your weekly photoshop contests never cease to amaze and amuse me. Amaze, because your readers seem to miss the point of photoshops completely. They are supposed to be funny, and also hopefully subtle with some surprises for those of us who look closely. Most of these are just straight-out 'this is what a hud might look like'.
And you amuse, because the skills on display are hilariously bad. With most PS contests you get 70% crap, 25% better than average, and 5% mindblowingly good PS skills. But for some reason out of all gizmodo's PS contests lately I don't think I've seen a single one that wasn't a terrible hackjob.
So.. the geekgadgetblog demographic... humourless and not actually any good at anything. You know, I think that's actually 100% accurate. It also occurs to me after looking at these that the average gadget blog reader is about 12 years old.

- HonoredMule, on 11/12/2008, -2/+6What is with the one whose most prominent (and significant) information presented is "My current thought?" Why would I need a HUD to tell me what I'm thinking? Most of the HUDS seem to have been modelled after FPS HUDs, which is pretty stupid and pointless when you consider that those mostly exist to tell you things you should know, but would anyway if you were actually 'there.'
Only a few found path to actual usefulness by analyzing visual content and overlaying /related/ information that may not be remembered, known, or discernible through visual inspection...sadly with an almost exclusive focus on profiling girls and fake listening to girlfriends (although I can't say I wouldn't find latter useful for reducing the workload of straining actual details from droning chatter). - Sliver85, on 11/12/2008, -1/+3You don't want the hamburglar and ronald mcdonald on codec?

I would be embarassed to even post them up on a site. Hell, I could create a better HUD then many of those that are posted there. I am sure some of us in here could say the same thing.
