- matriculated, on 02/04/2008, -1/+34What a terrible looking site - especially for one that's called "Designer Today".
- FaceEraser, on 02/04/2008, -2/+1810,000 ILLUSTRATOR TIPS: HIT F1
- roomforpanic, on 02/04/2008, -0/+13As a replacement for Illustrator? I'll stick with Illustrator.
- TheCheeta, on 02/04/2008, -1/+7While I agree that the site leaves much to be desired visually, it being a .Net site has nothing to do with his noobishness. Chances are, this guy is not a web developer and the site is hosted on a CMS service. Click, edit text, publish. Nothing wrong with that. But the assertion that .Net is for noobs only goes to prove you own noobishness.
- 471776, on 02/04/2008, -0/+6So you get the software, and then they find a way to improve it, and they tell you this and give you a free download of said improvements, and you complain?
They could go for the EA strategy. That's where you buy something called CS3 Version 0.5. Then you get (read: have) to buy the set of "expansions" in 18 separate purchases. - dollars5, on 02/04/2008, -2/+8it gives a "You are not authorized to view this page" - error at present. Seems like no other cache have copied their content so far..
- Savut, on 02/04/2008, -0/+6First, blame the tech for bad computer installation, not the software... Here we had installed CS3 on 8 different computers without any problems. Second you can disable the auto-updater anytime. Adobe products may be bloatware, but it's target professional users that have the money to spend on a monster computer and spend around 80% of their time using Adobe. The only reason I didn't switch to GIMP yet is there is no equivalent to the Adjustment Layer like in PS, when will we have them ?
- mentalfoto, on 02/04/2008, -2/+6Should be called "Beginning Illustrator". You'd do better to get one of those Wow! books which has much better tutorials, that is if they still make those. I learned most all this stuff in Illustrator 5...
- OwdenBowden, on 02/04/2008, -0/+2Thank you for the information about IckScape. AMAZING.
- nimawin, on 02/07/2008, -0/+1ur a douche..
- Kakcoo, on 02/04/2008, -2/+3So. How do i find something for me in this mountain of none categorized tutorials? Any way to sort by category/tool/skill or anything?
- GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1i think they fixed the not authorized thing, try again and pull it up.
- GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1The search feature is being revamped on the site, it should be up and running again in a few days.
- frascellyboy273, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1is it just me or are these tutorials terrible...
- fjklein6501, on 02/06/2008, -0/+1Relevant
- GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -2/+3Hmmm, I can see the page just fine.
- egonSchiele, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1yeah, the links look like google ads.
- Sheff, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1What's with all the digging down? How about the fact that Xara also has a native linux version?
In the end, it's not about the tool, it's about the person that uses it. I've hated using Illustrator for years. - GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1I think they are getting overloaded (visitors), give it a little while and try again. It loads but slowly right now, earlier it as very quick loading.
- solid12345, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1Design by nature is bloatware. Can't really complain about photoshop being bloated if you are working on a 1-2 gig file with 150 layers.
- YummyN, on 02/04/2008, -2/+3Donnie should release a “You Suck At Illustrator” series in response to this.
- slowbox, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1nifty
- techresearcher, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1You could've said that in two words: Digg Effect
- techresearcher, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1Why so many duplicate comments today? Hey Digg patrol, time to do a duplicate account cleanup.
- h3lx, on 02/04/2008, -1/+1Aside from them completely botching a few features, AICS3 runs really smooth, I still do 90% of my design work in AI10. It's just a better product. I didn't see anything here you couldn't pick up by reading the ***** book. Still a good list of stuff you should know already.
As far as installs go, I've put it on about 15 machines and had 01% issues dealing mainly with persistent settings in the color palette. - joe39275, on 02/04/2008, -4/+4pfff, Illustrator is nothing in comparison to paint.
- marffa, on 02/04/2008, -2/+2
So. How do i find something for me in this mountain of none categorized tutorials? Any way to sort by category/tool/skill or anything? - inactive, on 02/04/2008, -0/+0sweet. maybe people will stop making asinine "vexel" art now and just do it properly.
- ashan3, on 01/03/2009, -0/+0I like Illustrator!
- GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -0/+0LOL, you are right on that. I will have to remember.
- mactep86, on 02/08/2008, -0/+0Just great tips, thanks a lot for this
- KaraWrites, on 02/11/2008, -0/+0some of these are really helpful-thanks for pointing them out!
- Rsunny, on 02/05/2008, -0/+0its really good site........
- buggrep, on 02/04/2008, -1/+0These tutorials can be a little bit more advance but good job though
http://buggrep.com/ - GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -1/+0If nothing else the CMS being used on hte site can handle the Digg Effect (the bandwidth seems to be hammered at the moment), there is a link at the bottom of the site pointing to the CMS being used. It appears they company that owns the magazine wrote the CMS and sell it to the public. It has some very cool features from first look.
- danegeld, on 02/04/2008, -2/+1These tutorials are kindergarten-level and done by a designer with very little talent. You'd do way better with an Illustrator For Dummies book.
- llbbl, on 02/04/2008, -3/+2And its written .NET, what a noob.
- agentsarah6, on 02/04/2008, -2/+1I get the same error too. I would love to digg it but how can I when I can't view the content?
- btx101, on 02/23/2008, -1/+0hii sir :D

http://digg.com/celebrity/Julie_Estelle_at_KUNTILA ... - arma, on 02/04/2008, -2/+1Won't load
- dontswimtoshore, on 02/04/2008, -2/+0some of this is pretty hideous...
and by some, I mean most.
dugg as a good reference if you're having an Illustrator brain fart. - goldwish, on 02/04/2008, -4/+2
So. How do i find something for me in this mountain of none categorized tutorials? Any way to sort by category/tool/skill or anything? - GIMAD2008, on 02/04/2008, -2/+0Yeah Inkscape is cool. I like it.
- turnesol, on 02/04/2008, -4/+1Nice list of tips. I'll digg for future reference.
- 31213121, on 02/04/2008, -6/+2it's fixed now...
btw, for those without Illustrator I recommend InkScape: http://www.thefreesuite.com/post/20658946 - povv, on 02/04/2008, -4/+0Really great and huge resources, it's time to learn Illustrator...
- Sheff, on 02/04/2008, -6/+2Xara Xtreme Pro is much easier to use and learn.
http://www.xara.com/gallery/ - techresearcher, on 02/04/2008, -9/+2WTF? I got a Mozilla Firefox help screen? Oh, you mean press it while running illustrator. You could've said that, you know.
- Surfrock66, on 02/04/2008, -24/+2Or you can not use adobe stuff. I don't like adobe anyway since it seems like bloatware, what with updaters needing updates all the time at all. My work paid for CS3, we have all new WinXP computers, and CS3 won't install (different errors on each identical new machine) we had an adobe tech tell us (after being escalated 4 times) the only solution was to reformat all the computers. I'll stick with GIMP.
