That's the sort of thing that would turn me off of a site unless I REALLY needed to be there. I like sites that inspire action. Sites that grab your attention with subtlety and don't overdo the flashy stuff (yes, I mean flash). I like the ones that seem maintain interest. Make me want to explore the site etc. Some of them were quite well done, simple and effective.
