- lorductape, on 10/11/2007, -0/+61i purchased photoshop cs3 "sell your kidney" edition so i can't afford anything else, great find!
- rarkai, on 10/11/2007, -0/+45This title is a little misleading. Many of these aren't free.
- undermine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27Needs more lens flare.
- resplence, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28Wow, check out that comic book effect: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/227-seamless.html
I don't see myself ever using something like this, but it sure beats the comics and Waking Life/A Scanner Darkly tutorials I've seen so far. Especially if it can be achieved with only a couple clicks. - stevenvh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+22@carolyn:
"oops. i dugg this then realized it's really not that great."
Well, then undigg it. What's the problem? - tuneden, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20Wow, only $299 to get the free comic book effect! What a sense of community!

I have spoken, my rigid grill structure! - joewashere, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17forget top tens...top twenties are the stuff
- TheTSArt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Most are not free and Windows-only.
- ad7m, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11One could say it's almost twice as good...
- Regulator980, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8"A lot of these plugins are things that you can learn to do in Photoshop alone, without installing any unnecessary software on top of the program. Why would any Photoshop user worth their salt find it necessary to use these plugins, when a simple action in Photoshop will often achieve the same, if not better, result?"
I have to agree with onetimeoffer's comments on this one. I've gotten much better results doing things manually than letting a plug-in do it for me. - berberrama, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8So do you! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa :-)
- mbthompson, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8For everyone saying it's not that great, lame etc. If you had spent some time and poked around the links, you would have found not only filters for Photoshop, but Premier as well (yes and free) including transitions for editing video. Additionally there were filters available for GIMP and others. Don't blame your ignorance and lack of a reasonable amount of patience on the site. Thanks to the digger who submitted this, more please.
- CarolynMittens, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8thanks steven i actually never noticed that feature before. um, undugg.
- mpphan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Some plugins for Photoshop are also expensive. Topaz Vivacity, for example. It's a nice filter though, lots of people use it for forum signatures and stuff. Gives a nice smooth look.
- mbthompson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Freaking spammer, DIE!
- hater2win, on 10/11/2007, -2/+72 times better at LEAST!
- xeno439, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9Trial and demos. Buried as lame.
- zeejay, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I'd buy more plug-ins - even expensive ones - if I knew they'd freaking work from version to version of the base software.
I very much miss the KPT collection, as well as VectorEffects (for illustrator). They both delivered outstandingly cool (not cheesy) results when used properly. The 3D in VectorEffects that I was using 7 years ago, for example, is still vastly superior to the ***** 3D capabilities Adobe's added to Illustrator. I've thought about buying a crappy old machine, just to use these plug-ins with old versions of the software.
Corel needs to either 1) update these kick-ass products to work in new versions of Photoshop, or 2) sell the product to somebody who can. I have a hard time believing they wouldn't recoup their investment. I bet one decent coder could handle the project singlehandedly. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That comment did sound somewhat elitist.
But many GDs use Macs, so it does suck that most of these are Windows only. - Tippis, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6...I'm thinking about doing the same. However, being a student, it seems my kidneys are only worth $200 a pop. Might as well go for the whole CS3 "Master" package at $600 (equivalent at going exchange rates).
I wonder how long I can avoid getting my degree ;P - KillerX, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Most of these are lame ass Windows only crap. Kind of stupid when most pro designers using Photoshop are Mac users. Designers need to get work done on time and can't waist resources fighting viruses and spyware in Windows. Plus few of these are free. LAME.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think you could use Parallels to check in IE6, IE7, Flash Win, etc?
- Langford, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5I would be curious to see how many of these free plugins can work with PSPI.
http://www.gimp.org/~tml/gimp/win32/pspi.html - Senoske, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Thank You for making my life easier in Digital Design class Photoshop rox!
- ukdave, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Nice tools!
- creiss74, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1No, the gimp is sleepin'
- jdonner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Only dumbasses like you think that it matters which OS you use when you're Photoshopping...
- berberrama, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@stevenvh 46
Flock is a Social Web Browser with the ability to add a photo toolbar to share, drag, drop, etc photos. It's not a graphics editing package like Gimp, Photoshop, etc. I can use Photoshop to access the web to get pictures, but I would never call it a web browser.
:-) - shall01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Agreed!!!
At least with 20 on the list you have a better shot at getting 10 good ones. - wheezy360, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4More like "Top x Anything" is the new "oh god oh god, digg users, please visit my website!!"
- Fire4Effect, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Whoa, the Mac version of Photoshop has plugins? Figured it would come with everything you could ever need, right out of the box!
- Amoeba16, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4Write-up sucks. It's patently stupid to talk about free plug-ins for Photoshop while neglecting to mention that most of the linked plug-ins are WINDOWS ONLY.
Idiotsticks should think more about his audience. Photoshop users are heavily slanted to Macintosh.
Don't waste our time. Include in write-ups whether downloads are platform specific! - dinobot, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4Sheesh, I was just trying to share the find... *rolls eyes*
I mean, I know the message looks kinda like spam... and I apologize for that, but I think it is a good resource pack for Photoshop CS, which is what I use and its free! I was just trying to list what it contained... - whiteyMcBrown, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I don't know how true it is that most designers work on macs, anymore. I'm a designer and have a mac (because I love them so.. ) but I get most of my actual work done on a PC. It's all web stuff. Since web browsers and Flash both work differently from system to system, I would actually recommend working on a PC so you get the same experience that 95% of your audience will, when viewing the page or web game/app. The Flash player for the Mac is still garbage, compared the the PC version. Oh.. and those plugins are still *****, but some of you probably think the bevel/emboss filter is neat, too.
- EODMpink, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0No, it needs more motion blur.
- digitalgreek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1kinda lame, you can do most of this w/o plugins.
- whiteyMcBrown, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Yikes.. Those look like *****.
- xspinkickx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1some of those are nice too bad they cost money :( considering how much the suite costs.
- ipop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I would have added two places:
http://www.alvit.de/handbook/
Web Developer's Handbook | CSS, Web Development, Color Tools, SEO, Usability etc.
A link repository, well-organized, with EVERYTHING you need
and
http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/
/dean edwards/IE7/
a set of plug-n-play Javascripts that make IE6 behave - jdonner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Those who yell "great" obviously have no clue how to use Photoshop...
- jdonner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I don't understandf why people idgg down your comment, becaue you're right. Or did someone just open the kindergarten doors?
- freakout1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0The first one mentioned on the list is the only one I actually used and it's pretty good, none of the other ones really interest me
- ryjohn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Only Photoshop plugins I've ever found useful are Genuine Fractals and anythign by Nik. Everything else just seems to make pictures look cheesy or over-enhanced, instead of simply making them look better.
- lukeslytalker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Great resource! Thanks for the link.
- zwendkos, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2now i can photoshop like a pro!
er, i mean, now i can use Adobe Photoshop © like a pro. - anarchistuk, on 08/11/2009, -5/+4"http://www.22pixels.com/
