- ileftfark, on 03/19/2009, -0/+17Summary: Mess with your settings and see what you get.
Also, if you have a Canon P&S camera, you can actually unlock a *****-ton of extra features by using CHDK, which is a non-permanent firmware that can be easily removed with no detriment to the existing OEM firmware.

- thescimitar, on 03/19/2009, -0/+8There were a few great projects that helped me back in undergrad before I started working professionally. They'll help you far more than "shoot infrared" and similar technique based suggestions. Here they are:
1. Define "Light" (with a photograph)
2. Define "Space" (with a photograph)
3. Shoot twenty subjects from three angles
4. Shoot three subjects from twenty angles
I still occasionally come back to these when I'm not shooting for work (which is rare), and they still challenge me to see things in new ways. - LeviTheSmith, on 03/19/2009, -0/+4I hate that.
- roessnakhan, on 03/19/2009, -0/+3Changing your perspective is probably the best thing you can do, it really gives a unique look to all your photos. There's something inherently generic about a photo shot from eye-level. Unless you're a midget.
- diwanifa, on 03/20/2009, -2/+4Really? Zoom while shooting? Lamest gimmick in the book. How about make it black and white except a little bit of color? Ugh.
- BatBoyBlues, on 03/20/2009, -0/+2Is Creativity some thing you can just "add" to a photo?
- immatellyouwhat, on 03/19/2009, -1/+3Certain techniques that make your shots random? lolwut?
- DeathJux, on 03/19/2009, -0/+2These are actually all great tips and techniques. You can do tons of cool stuff by trying them.
- LongShlong, on 03/19/2009, -0/+2If you're doing it with intention then it's not random.
- kontraire, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1I misread the headline and thought it said "Pornography." I apparently have a one-track mind.
- zzzBrett, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1The pic under number two makes me a little dizzy.
- DonAlfred, on 03/19/2009, -1/+2More than half of these effects can be made by using something called "photoshop". It's a really nice application.
- jawagas, on 03/19/2009, -0/+1Its improved your photography already. DUGG
- markus941, on 03/19/2009, -4/+5great, simple tips - I especially like the "shoot from your boot" suggestion. anything where the camera is at a different angle than 99% of the shots tends to produce some cool and unusual pics
- nepalikakro, on 03/19/2009, -2/+3"An elevator smells different to a midget."
- Natilator3, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1Attach an infinite improbability drive.
- clearwaterlab, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1Here's the foolproof way:
Stop memorizing rules and go with what feels right. Creativity is not something that you can learn from a list; it comes from the soul. Each person is different in their own brilliant way, and art is a form of expressing creativity. True artists release their inner most angst and energy onto their work, like Picasso, Pink Floyd, Mozart, eg. So, to find your true potential, look inside yourself. - thescimitar, on 03/20/2009, -0/+120 individual objects, then three individual objects. The idea here is that the first part shows you what your compositional tendencies are, and the second part forces you to engage your subjects from places that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable for you. You may discover that you get your best images from a place you've never been before (mentally).
- humanedited, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1Some decent tips but the overlay newsletter subscription request is annoying. At least they put all the tips on one page though
- TrevorBelmont, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1Is "randomness" something you want to add to a photo? Is that supposed to make it better?
- penguinpc, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1While I do agree with doing what feels right, I also think it's not a bad idea to learn techniques you can add to your repertoire. Maybe things you simple haven't thought of trying before.
- hokku, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1I have to digg this because of the hilarious title.
...I mean... I want to take pictures good. - roseman5285, on 03/20/2009, -1/+1just for clarification....is that 20 objects all at once, or 20 individual objects?
- wilczoor, on 03/20/2009, -0/+0I definitely have to agree with clearwaterlab- creativity by definition is a characteristic you're born with, and as such cannot be "added" to a photograph.
- sadblueangel, on 04/12/2009, -0/+0hi .. i want to chat with kind woman
- earlvanze, on 03/20/2009, -3/+2Shoot from your boot....hmmm....especially when your foot is under someone's skirt. ;-)
- inactive, on 03/19/2009, -5/+3Lol omg so randum !
- LeviTheSmith, on 03/19/2009, -5/+2I would photoshop rule 34 of the queen of england on the photos.
- inactive, on 03/19/2009, -4/+0cool
- magawake, on 03/19/2009, -9/+2Cheesy Poofs
(how is that for randomness)
