- cafefort, on 01/09/2008, -8/+19Double post ! Burried
- inactive, on 01/09/2008, -4/+9cafefort, in case you were wondering, I have the original submission. The front page submission is a duplicate of my own as the _3 indicates at the end of the URL. http://digg.com/design/100_Excellent_Free_WordPres ...
- thinkingserious, on 01/09/2008, -4/+8Great list! Free WordPress themes are always appreciated.
- thailand1972, on 01/09/2008, -0/+3spamtastic comments. Anyway, these themes are only good if you include wp-cache
- SteveTheSultan, on 01/09/2008, -2/+5Here is the mirror for when word press goes down:
http://cachejunkies.com/index.aspx?UL=http://www.s ... - redhotkurt, on 01/09/2008, -1/+3*****' spam comments. Buried.
- ropers, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2You lost me at "Wordpress".
- Jeffler, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2SmashingMagazine never goes down from this stuff, its in the server and the caching, not the software. People who's wordpress sites die from the digg effect are fools, because they either got crappy hosting, didn't install wp-cache or wp-supercache, or both.
- phixed, on 01/09/2008, -2/+4Fantastic list!
- makethemost, on 01/21/2008, -0/+1Nice themes, thanks
- ifnotme, on 01/09/2008, -2/+3If you don't have a good theme, get one! It makes all the difference in getting more RSS subs and repeat traffic.
- inactive, on 01/09/2008, -3/+4It's not his fault. Digg's system is severely flawed in that it doesn't seem to catch all duplicates. He swore, but when presented with his list of duplicates, mine probably wasn't there. It's a serious usability flaw, but it has existed forever and I don't imagine that Digg will fix it anytime soon.
For now, just assume that a number at the end is a duplicate. There are exceptions to that rule though, like when Digg double-submits for a single user's submission (which I've seen on more than one occasion). - ShustOne, on 01/09/2008, -3/+4I can never get enough free WordPress themes.
- XeroRestraint, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2Exact same story 5 pages down ... Buried
- inactive, on 01/09/2008, -2/+3Yeah, thanks though. :)
- Otto, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2Important Note: Be very careful with any WordPress themes. Badly written themes can have security holes and/or expose your site to malware. WordPress themes are executable PHP code. Don't use one without auditing it first.
Future versions of WordPress may have simple checks for obvious problems in themes and/or may switch to a theming system without these sorts of problems, but for now, any theme needs to be examined carefully before using it. - lessew, on 01/09/2008, -2/+3Double 'R'! Buried!
- deaconyermouf, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2I want that "WordPress Error" theme I see all the time on digg...
- xswag, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Duplicates are fine with me. If I hadn't seen this dupe I wouldn't have seen this article at all. Caught it on an RSS feed.
- Vaelroth, on 01/09/2008, -2/+3Sorry tamar, but I saw this yesterday. Buried.
- winmywii, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2Most of the time I hate these comments, but this was just on the top stories like 20 minutes ago.
- Mononuclear, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1We all know that Digg has problems. Digging up a duped story isn't going to bring the issue any more publicity. If you want to address it then write a blog post about the problem with some examples and submit that to digg. Again it doesn't matter who submitted the story first. The other one was made popular first and this one I am going to bury.
- mikehill33, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1Design your on or be GONE!
- cafefort, on 01/09/2008, -3/+3I got it now! So the one which was popular was a duplicate of yours actually! Sorry, I was wrong.
Damn powerful folks that duplicate content and make their submission popular! Cruel world!
Again sorry ! :) - Mononuclear, on 01/09/2008, -2/+2It doesn't matter whose was first. This was already on the front page so this one is getting burried.
- inactive, on 01/09/2008, -4/+4And one more thing, his dupe was submitted 4 minutes after me. Digg needs to fix this stuff.
- cafefort, on 01/09/2008, -3/+3Sorry I'm new to all this stuff, but isn't this finally a dupplicate link? I mean someone swore that this was an original content, right?
- Diggaloo, on 01/14/2008, -0/+0Nice list! Wordpress is just awesome eh bringing the web back to a free database of information! Web 2.0 at its finest
- cafefort, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1My TXP never went down ;-)
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -1/+1Wonderful lists..And thank you...
- bigern75, on 01/12/2008, -1/+1In the words of Borat "Very nice!"
- inactive, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1Actually, it does, for no other reason but to point out that Digg's system is flawed and lets duplicate submissions from the same exact URL through. Again, they need to fix this.
- richdad100, on 01/14/2008, -0/+0Some sharp themes here
