- Tryptomine, on 11/24/2008, -0/+37"Based on Mike “Hellboy” Mignola’s comic, Screw-On Head is a steampunk adventure about a robot agent for President Abraham Lincoln. He battled the evil Emperor Zombie and his vampire lover Patience with the help of his butler Mr. Groin and reanimated pet Mr. Dog."
...What?
This is either the best idea I've ever heard, or the worst. I really can't tell. - DrakeGTA, on 11/24/2008, -0/+29It was ***** awesome, check it out... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-543466668 ...
- Tryptomine, on 11/24/2008, -0/+24I was sold as soon as I saw a monkey wearing a crown and wielding a tommy gun.
WHY DIDN'T THEY PICK THIS UP!? - ThinkRad, on 11/23/2008, -0/+20Wow that X-Men clip is putrid and irritating. "X-MEN! X-MEN!" bleh
- GothAlice, on 11/25/2008, -0/+12It was more than ***** awesome. It literally rocked my socks off. The humor, wit, and sheer comedy of it was outrageous. There's little else like it on TV, which makes me sad.
- CptnEvilStomper, on 11/24/2008, -1/+10I made it to the point where Wolverine started talking. Who the hell decided to give a Canadian guy a bad Australian accent?
- Dumbledorito, on 11/25/2008, -0/+8It was too good to be on TV, so of course it was doomed. I would have loved to see this on "Adult Swim."
- DatVillain83, on 11/25/2008, -1/+8Blade on Spike TV somehow got past the Pilot.
- LucasVB, on 11/25/2008, -0/+6Dugg for The Amazing Screw-On Head. It was just brilliant!
- naugrim, on 11/25/2008, -0/+6If you've read the Amazing Screw on Head comic book, I'd say probably the best. The comic (a one-shot) was AMAZING. Sadly, the show didn't fair much better with seeing future installments.
- LucasVB, on 11/25/2008, -0/+6If by "candy" you mean "ancient forbidden evil" then, yes, I told you not to put it in your mouth!
- Dumbledorito, on 11/25/2008, -0/+5You, sir, have no taste, sense of humor, or love of anything original.
In closing, "nyah." - BananaGrabber, on 11/25/2008, -0/+5Daily Planet, not Daily Bugle.
- rahamm, on 11/25/2008, -1/+6Have you ever been to Canada..................mate?
- mpb337, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4Agreed.
- kekemortson, on 11/24/2008, -1/+5I remember "Nick Fury" and thought Hasselhoff did a pretty good Nick Fury character. But, this probably only appealed to a small comic book audience ........*guilty*.
- TrevorBelmont, on 11/25/2008, -0/+4TV.com says 21 episodes. I kinda liked that show. Mark Hamill as The Trickster was great. He really went for it.
- Gyp2, on 11/25/2008, -0/+4I liked Global Frequency but Michelle Forbes' character was really bad. That's the only thing I didn't like about it.
- Dsmuggler, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3Amazing Screw-On Head + Main Villain who Smokes his enemies in a bong = Priceless
- LucasVB, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3I still think they should have tried it.
- TheJokerV, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3Because it was awesome. The shame is that it didn't get another season.
- justinil, on 11/25/2008, -1/+4I remember watching Generation X, and even as a 6th grader that could find something redeeming in anything with superheroes, thought "this is a piece of *****"
- T8erT0T, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3They had this on a vhs, I remember watching it as a kid. And I will remember that daunting theme song until my death.
- slochewie, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3I am guilty of having liked the Aquaman pilot.
- floronicman, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3I always would wonder why Wolverine had an Australian accent in Pryde when he was a Canadian.
- Dumbledorito, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3Global Frequency should have been greenlit. I would, however, rather have seen it on HBO, given the content (I'm thinking of the story about the Air Force's cybernetic soldier project).
- PabloIV, on 11/25/2008, -0/+3I just sat through the full 22 minutes of Screw-On head, and it is one of the awesomest things I have ever seen.
I went to the website at the beginning of the show on Sci-Fi and it says the survey is over. If anyone at Sci-Fi reads Digg (and I know you do) bring this on. - Ramenhood, on 11/25/2008, -1/+3I have Pride of the X-Men on VHS! I always wondered why they never picked it up! I also remember seeing generation X when I was little... I thought I had it recorded somewhere.. but I actually liked that as well.
- JayQuick, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2Screw-On head was great! Why this is this not on TV?
- tequilamaniac, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2I remember Dr. Strange from the late 70s. It was cool and dark and reminded me of a Black Sabbath album cover.
- zaren, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2I'm a big Nick Fury fan. I read all of my dad's old S.H.I.E.L.D. comics, and I collected the resurrection of the series back in the 80s. I thought the Hasselhoff movie was pretty decent. A bit campy, sure, but I'd like to think it was meant to be that way. He really did have the look down for the movie, just never mind the acting in that clip you saw there.
- dire, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2Nightstalker pedo much?
- amoirae, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2What about the 1967 Wonder Woman pilot? http://www.wonderwoman-online.com/flash26.html
- gothsquirrel, on 11/25/2008, -1/+3Well I for one am glad that they didn't make any of these. I've seen most of them. They are total crap except for the Amazing Screw-on head, which is absolutely amazing (I think I'll go watch it again right now).
- dingedarmor, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2Not sure as I didn't see Cop Rock but trust me when I say JL really sucked--Green Lantern on the tower crying "I can't reach the bomb..." sort of of gives you a taste of just how lame it was.....
And I'll take your advice and avoid Crap Rock.
:D - floronicman, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2I have four times. But his voice was full on down under aussie
- Lynxpro, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2That was a good show whether or not one felt Snipes should have continued in the role. Goyer certainly expanded the mythos more with the series and it was a total travesty that SciFi didn't pick up the series when SpikeTV canceled it.
- mikereads, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2The voice talent for the pilot was amazing too. Paul Giamatti, David Hyde Pierce, Patton Oswalt, Corey Burton, Mindy Sterling.
- TrevorBelmont, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2I don't thin the word "literally" means what you think it means.
- YouAreNumber6, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2They forgot "The Spirit" (1987) with Sam J Jones. Great stuff if you liked Sam Jones.
- HappyScrappy, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2There was also another 'The Flash' 5-10 years earlier.
Hamill does quite well as the animated Batman's Joker. - DemiRonin, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2Aww!! Why did they not green light X-men. I still have the vhs. I mean come on, the makers of GI JOE!
- cddict1, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2AGREED by 100%.
- tmyprod, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2Amazing Screw-On Head = amazing 22 min!
- HappyScrappy, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1Fish Police went 3 eps.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_Police - tamahome2, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1+1 for Dr. Strange, probably the best failed comic book pilot. It was on at the same time as Roots.
- cquinnd, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1I liked her in that pilot, but I think they would have re-shot the scenes where she came across as more angry at the world than cocksure of her own ability to save it from itself.
- Remelox, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1Wow, I expected there to be more detail, like that Charles (David Ogden Stiers) from MASH was the Martian Manhunter in Justice League. And the Green Lantern looked more like Aqua Lantern. The characters were nothing like their comic equivalents. Oh, and Bull fro Night Court (Richard Moll?) was the villain if I remember right.
Still better than the Fantastic Four movie I have yet to finish. I mean really, it boiled down to a jewel heist and a what, some sort of leprechaun working for Doctor Rubber Doom? - HappyScrappy, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1Would anyone admit they like Sam Jones?
- shipwreck58, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1GD I freaking hate IO9's web design!
