- doktorrocket, on 09/03/2008, -9/+177If just 10% of the people who threatened to leave based on the results of an election actually did so, we could solve all the traffic problems, energy shortages, overcrowded schools, AND you wouldn't have to wait in line for new consoles on launch day.
- ww3ace, on 09/03/2008, -11/+141but we'd still have a bad president
- Marcatto, on 09/04/2008, -3/+130The Conservative party of Canada is further left than the American Democrats.
- twiztidsinz, on 09/04/2008, -5/+62Conservative =/= NeoCon
- PoppedCulture, on 09/03/2008, -16/+62Seek refuge elsewhere -- we're likely about to re-elect a conservative ourselves.
- btschul, on 09/04/2008, -4/+40We tried. Paul got 6 votes at the convention.

- Marcatto, on 09/04/2008, -2/+30Amen, I am pretty tired having the name "Sarah Palin" seared into my brain.
As a Canadian, I realize that the outcome of the US election will have general implications for me, but I'd rather skip all the mud-slinging and just hear the result, when it comes.
On another aside, I think it's hilarious that if Harper dissolves parliament this week we'll have an election in October, whereas the American system will still be a month or so away from being done, after months (years?) of campaigning! - Hetman, on 09/03/2008, -1/+18Unfortunatly most people could not move to Canada even if they wanted to. They could cross illegally but then when you were caught they would just deport you back to America. Canada does not accept many immigrants a year. If you think it is hard obtaining American citizenship trying obtaining it in Canada or the U.K.
- drake53, on 09/04/2008, -6/+23Actually I'm saying, if McCain wins I'm staying in Toronto. Otherwise I'm moving back to New York.
(I made good on my promise to move to Canada if Bush was elected.) - cygnus2112, on 09/04/2008, -2/+18Yep. Since 2005. Since 2003 in Ontario.
- aphexflip, on 09/04/2008, -9/+24Terrance and Phillip > McCain
- charm803, on 09/04/2008, -0/+15"Note: Canadian white people threaten to move to Europe.
Note: Europeans are unable to threaten to move anywhere."
haha - 33PercentGod, on 09/04/2008, -4/+18Sounds like every digg visitor.
- lastoftheidiots, on 09/04/2008, -2/+15!=
- bmovers, on 09/04/2008, -9/+22McCain is certainly no conservative
- tnerd, on 09/03/2008, -4/+17Do we know of anyone who left the country thought.. sticking to their word?
- flyingclutchman, on 09/04/2008, -8/+21Not clicking on them usually works
- Shuk, on 09/04/2008, -1/+13Hey we'll be having an election here in Canada at the same time! Everywhere you go, it's partisan politics!
- SLockhart, on 09/04/2008, -0/+12It's not that the Canadian conservative party is on the left it's that the Democrats, no matter how liberal they think they are, are further to the right.
- muldots, on 09/04/2008, -10/+22I wish there were a reliable way of filtering everything to do with US politics from Digg. I tried removing elections 08, political news and political opinion, but it doesn't work for cartoons.
- Galaxylander, on 09/04/2008, -2/+13So Conservative, gay marriage is legal?
- Maynza, on 09/04/2008, -2/+13Maybe because it is a ***** run by drug cartels?
Oh and drinking the water makes you ***** blood for a week. - geoffg, on 09/04/2008, -3/+13I hear Canada is close to Alaska.
- DamnMan, on 09/04/2008, -0/+9And we don't give a ***** much more than the Canadians. I can't think of a single person I know who didn't know how they were going to vote once the primaries were over. Everyones already in their respective camps for the most part. Now we just have a few more months of each candidate making speeches followed by their supporters stroking them off. Its bloated, wasteful, doesn't work and stupid. In a word, Its American.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -6/+15Giuliani just said that Obama candidacy could only happen in America. Plain & simple folks: Republicans hate America
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 09/04/2008, -1/+10I was thinking I'd leave when it was beyond help.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 09/04/2008, -0/+9Buried for making me look like an idiot by association.
- GregFD3S, on 09/04/2008, -2/+11The only republican worth voting for.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+8No. we'd still have to wait in line for consoles.
- sugarazor, on 09/04/2008, -1/+9I am 100% Obama in this election, but if you're one of these people that say you're moving to Canada if McCain wins, you're a douchebag. A real patriot stays and fights for his country, even at its darkest hour; how can America improve if all the opposing viewpoints just give up? Don't hand this country over to these criminals, it may be an ugly four years for us, but don't give them a free pass to do whatever they want. Hey, Bush got elected twice and turned out to be the worst president ever, but by 2005, at least we had made him a lameduck, a footnote, and a punchline... well, he was always a punchline, but you get my point. Don't give up on your country!
- worldchanger, on 09/04/2008, -3/+11well, at least our conservative government doesn't ruin our nation's economy and worldwide reputation. in fact, they've done a pretty bang-up job of holding the country steady, in spite of how our southern neighbours have flushed their economy down the crapper.

#75 Threatening to move to Canada. - k3rfuffl3, on 09/04/2008, -1/+8No desire to save those who can't save themselves.
- coheedcollapse, on 09/04/2008, -2/+9Well, considering his voting record for the past year has been up Bush's ass and his VP is a crazy religious hypocrite bent on destroying the earth, I think it's a good bet to say that he'll be as bad as you think he'll be.
- friyaz, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6Thanks for the warning.
- ComeOutSwingin, on 09/04/2008, -1/+7No one said "Ron Paul," only "Paul" was stated. So obviously, you know what a Ron Paul is.
- Sogladtobehere, on 09/04/2008, -2/+8But they are still infringing on our freedoms, making dissident lists, and pushing a neo-con agenda of the North American Union which would effectively move Canada's political spectrum much further right.
Although I agree that our Conservative party hasn't done A LOT of damage yet, they also haven't done any good. They have effectively killed two electric car companies that existed in Canada by passing restrictions on their ability to sell electric cars in Canada. They have ignored our Kyoto commitments (which does ruin our international credibility), and they have put higher criminal penalties on minor crimes like possession of marijuana (which most Canadians don't support). The Neo-con government has also closely aligned themselves with Bush's war machine by extraditing American soldiers who seek refugee status here in Canada (allowing military deserters to stay in Canada is long and proud tradition that dates back to Vietnam).
On top of all this, they are planning to extradite Marc Emery, a political dissident, into the vengeful and corrupt hands of the American DEA. Marc Emery is a Canadian citizen who has been cleared of any wrong doing in Canada, but the Neo-cons figure they can just wipe their hands of this Canadian hero by working in conjunction with the DEA. - theseaweedking, on 09/04/2008, -5/+11Why is it that everyone always wants to run to Canada when things get bad? Mexico gets no love from US refugees. No love a'tall.
- Nidy1, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5Meh, I'll get dugg down for saying it, but it wouldn't be that bad. I actually *gasp* agree with McCain on some issues, but I don't think that's allowed here.
- coheedcollapse, on 09/04/2008, -2/+7I wish that were a realistic option for me. I remember how disappointed (enraged) I was in America when Bush was re-elected. I was sitting in my apartment in Indiana cursing very loudly pretty much all night.
I wonder how long ***** have to be in office before the idiots who vote them in realize that it's their damn fault it's happening. They're still blaming it on democrats from earlier years - I wonder how long that argument will hold up. - juliehardman, on 09/04/2008, -10/+15The biggest difference between the Republican and Democratic conventions is one of them was uplifting, inspiring, and made me want to be a better American. While the other is basically saying if I don't vote republican I am not patriotic. I agree with the republicans that we should put "Country First" however by doing so it leaves me one choice and that is to vote for Obama. Voting for McCain and Palin is a vote for the oil companies, and more B.S. I am not saying McCain is just like George Bush because no one is that bad. I am just saying McCain and Palin are in bed with the oil companies so nothing will ever get done.
The next President needs line-item veto power to get rid of all the ***** in those spending bills. Bill Clinton had this and the federal budget was balanced. Go figure!
If this country really wants change and they really want to reach across party lines than I say we need to have Obama and Palin on the same ticket. - doublefelix, on 09/04/2008, -3/+8So, Are you better off then you were 8 years ago? Personally, I wasn't using those civil liberties anyways.
- Niallgriff, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4lol...Love it, so leave it. I like it. I'm tired of idiots telling me I should leave for wanting our country to be a better place.
- FishThePirate, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4I don't get it. Where's Garfield?
- worldchanger, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4buried for jacking off over your keyboard so much that it caused your caps lock button to stick.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3I honestly think this comic went over some of your heads.
- it5five, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3What are you talking about. It's incredibly easy to get permanent residence status in Canada.
-College grad?
-at least 6 months of professional work experience?
-healthy?
-no criminal background?
You're in.
Thinking about Quebec? If you're a college grad and can speak french, it's even easier. - boethius, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Crikey - I'm with you on that. I haven't RSSed the main Digg page for over a year because there's so much dugg political and religious/anti-religious patter.
