- EricDraven, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0Plus points for the original link for having all 100 entries on a single page, though...

- paranoidfox, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4As a comic-book enthusiast I think this is a great list--though I want to add to it Ed Brubaker's Criminal, Brian Wood's DMZ, and Steven Seagul's American Virgin (I'm sure many diggers can relate).
- chancesarent, on 05/06/2008, -0/+8I couldn't agree more with the #1 pick.Neil Gaiman is one hell of a comic book writer. I wish he would do it more often.
I'm also surprised Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" is nowhere to be seen on this list.- lamiaconfitor, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Digging you up for that one, for sure. Though Gaiman has been doing some great movies as of late. I also want more graphic novels + books though.
- suttercain, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3I agree. Walking Dead should be on there.. at least a top 100.. at least!
- slavingia, on 05/06/2008, -3/+0OGC
- theholyraptor, on 05/06/2008, -2/+2I'm digging it cause it sounds cool even though it's down. I just hope bringing awareness to it might produce a mirror from a more resourceful person.
- rpieszak, on 05/06/2008, -2/+1Site down, but...
Spawn, FTW!- DryerCombo, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1Spawn? That's your comic book pinnacle? You need to read more books.
- rpgguy1o1, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1the current run on spawn is actually really really good. David Hine is writing it, and Brian Haberlin is on art

1. Neil Gaiman’s Sandman - 1318 points (42 first place votes)- KillaJazzBass, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1Daredevil and Fantastic 4 on the top 5... Yeah..
- aaaleman, on 05/06/2008, -0/+9Y was great series.
The Sandman belongs among the great contemporary literature. - MarrowMan, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4Preacher ***** rocked. I hope the HBO series does too (if it's still being made)
- rpgguy1o1, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3i think the writer strike basically killed it. i am hopeful myself, preacher was better than sandman IMO
- jaradams, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1One word for all you pinheads -- Steranko
- HydrogenOxide, on 05/06/2008, -5/+2Buried for lack of Countdown to Final Crisis
- Doomshot, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Dugg for your sense of humor!
- xthpsgodx, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Glad to see Alias on there. Seems like there are quite a few 'mature titles' on the list.
- cassifras, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1Grant Morrison's run on JLA? Brubaker's Captain America run was way better.
- Comicbookhero, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Alias deserves to be much higher on the list if you ask me.
- Luxowell, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Hell yeah to Preacher being so high on the list. I was a huge Sandman fan, until I read Preacher, and now it's simply the best comic I've ever read. Optic Nerve and the Acme Library comics were great too.
And hell... anything Morrison, Waid or Byrne worked on is damn good too! - BionicAntboy, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Glad to see Miller/Janson's Daredevil, which was a brilliant run. Would have put Preacher higher though... and Cerebus deserves to be in the top ten, because of the impact it had on independent comic publishing.
Jaradams is right too... Steranko should be on there... The Nick Fury stuff was absolutely brilliant. - WinBear, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Nice list, except for the inclusion of Marc Silvestri's X-Men run. Sorry, I wasn't a fan of his artwork.
- briguyd, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I'd imagine that after the next two issues, if this list was remade, Matt Fraction and Ed Brubaker's Immortal Iron Fist would be somewhere in the middle of the list. Sad to not see it on there now.
- optigon, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1What? Where's The Maxx? I loved that comic!
- skaldicpoet9, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Dugg for Sandman being in the number one spot. Definitely one of the defining series in modern comics.
- H3BR3W, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I love how many Grant Morrison runs made it onto the list. Good work, voters.
- frelk, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1This is a great list. I'm a little surprised that Swamp Thing isn't even higher (somewhere after the obvious #1 pick of Sandman)--maybe number one picks should count for more, since Miller's Daredevil only had 12? Also, didn't anybody else really enjoy the original Valiant titles? I would have like to see a Magnus: Robot Fighter or Solar: Man of the Atom or something... I know Jim Shooter's supposed to be a jerk, but he did a good job with those.
- Armagetto, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1I remember absolutely living for the next John Byrne issue of the Fantastic Four as a kid. From the ages of 8 to 12 I was totally hooked. Sadly, the book fell apart when his run ended and nothing he did afterward could equal it. However, it wasn't too long until stuff like Dark Knight and Watchmen came out and completely blew my 13 year old mind lol.
Now when someone mentions the name John Byrne, I don't think of his FF or X-Men runs, but all the dick moves he made afterwards. I don't think anyone in comics has been viewed as negatively as he has over the years. - Gadgeteer10, on 05/12/2008, -0/+0Cool list, love the X-men I think it should be number #1
- Armando57, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Where's Mike Grell's "Jon Sable"?
