Dude did you even watch it? Not ready for the Internet? I don't think YOU are ready for the Internet. - jdb252, on 10/12/2007, -11/+72Are you kidding? That was sick... Great skill.
- hbweb500, on 10/12/2007, -10/+51"this has to be seen to be believed"
Funny, this is exactly what I believed it would be before I saw it.
Seriously, it was nice, but nothing to call home to Digg about. - spraguep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35yeah they are going to sue 3 students making a parody...
- warmonger48, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39The funny part is a computer generated Kermit the frog is a better actor than Keanu Reeves.
- ZenFu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27The link is borked for me. I'm assuming you're talking about this vid?

It's pretty darn good tho. Esp with rizzo as mouse and bunsen/beaker/gonzo as agents. Lol. Whoever created this deserves some major props. Hopefully once their 3D modelling experience improves, they'll redo it with true 3D and shading to make it more realistic. - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+27While two and three sucked, the first matrix movie most CERTAINLY did NOT suck.
- invader, on 10/12/2007, -11/+28i agree about it being pretty good for a student project.. not much more than that
- ddomanski, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20I thought "Keanu Reeves" *was* computer generated.
- Sithlrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14muppets = autodigg
- mrsticks1982, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14man, read the introduction. It was made by three students for an intro glass. I give them major props and hope it serves them well since that field is growing very rapidly today!
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12You people have absolutely no respect for how much work goes into a 3d project. This was pulled off well, and it may not have the graphics seen from a two hundred man team, ala Spirits Within, for the extremely small group they were working in this is very impressive.
++digg - Thrasher9, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Awesome!!!
Actually made me want to watch the Matrix again.
Well done. - mrlost117, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Gonzo totally kicks ass in that role
- StarManta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11It's not that this wasn't "true 3D" - you can tell it was properly rendered. It just looked flat because:
1) apparently, they used 3d studio's Ink 'n' paint material which, while cool, was probably not appropriate for this video
2) poor lighting
3) poor materials (which was probably the reason they made it ink n paint - textures are a bitch to get right) - MrBabyMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Gonzo as Agent Smith! Heelarious!
- Langford, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11That was pretty cool. The only things that could have improved it, would be to use real Muppets and Muppet voices.
- tikistyle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I think the best part was that the enviroments felt like every single scene they were suppsed to be. I felt like i was watching a 3d overlay on the movie. Unless i was?
Nice job guys. I'll volunteer my vocal impressions if you want to re-do the audio. - Anpheus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Education falls under Fair Use :)
Thankfully, politicians a long time ago designed our copyright laws, and they recognized the validity of using copyright material in an educational environment.
Unfortunately, the media corporations today would like to have us believe that Fair Use does not exist. - somnus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9And...
Something more exciting!
"...I know these guys!"
"...the creators are super ugly! *pic*"
"...the campus is IN the Matrix!" - somnus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Actually, I think it's the opposite. Production quality was not great, but made up for it with hilarious role placement. You don't have to write your own script to maximize hilarity; sometimes all you need is to be the first one to replace characters/environments to make it contextually funny.
- deputysalty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Freeze Frame at 1:39. It says "ADOBE SUCKS" on the monitors.
- cazoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8@BrowncoatJedi,
"Lame. Nice for a student project, but not ready for the internet."
Man, 97% of the stuff on the internet is student made, or non professional. I think I enjoyed it even more knowing that it was produced by students of ITT Tech and not some of the more prestigious higher institutions of film and animation. - curunculus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'd pay good money to see a real Muppet Matrix in a cinema :)
- webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Uah?"
Keanu confused face.
"Uah?"
Keanu surprised face. - TheWorkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Reminds me of Southpark Matrix
http://youtube.com/watch?v=aO7I6T9sdAw - Xophmeister, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Good concept... However, it would have been so much better if they were real muppets, rather than somewhat dubiously modelled CGI.
- nikolas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I go to school at the ITT Tech campus this was made at.
- Nunya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pretty good for Intro to 3D modeling I'd say. Cant wait to see their graduate project.
- shirtninjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I liked how they used the rat muppet for Joe Pantoliano's "rat" character, Cypher. Great job.
- rdoger6424, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3exactly. They need a muppet section for digg.
- ruprecht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3knew
- remiprev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"I hate Adobe" is there too
- culbeda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Gonzo, Beaker and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew were the best part by far. That's the only part that really made me laugh-out-loud.
- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4the end was hysterical
- mississippiman, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7lol that was great
- Skegg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Okay am I the only one that thought the use CGI to spoof a LIVE ACTION movie with PUPPETS was lame?
Why not spoof ANIMATION with PUPPETS, or LIVE ACTION with PUPPETS, or PUPPETS with LIVE ACTION.
It just seems like something got lost in translation, or that there were too many steps for it to translate.
I did like the cell shading, just not enough separation to show depth. - clownguyx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Where is the Swedish Chef?
BORK BORK BORK - kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why are gonzo and beaker the bad guys /cry!
Freaking sweet - Catchpen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Some major amphibious ass kicking going on there. You go Kermie!
- iheardrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dang, that must be one hell of an intro class!
- donolsen1155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can't you guess?? He's the Oracle!
- Fijufic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice project...
- davidzet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@tanglefuzz et al. The Southpark version is not even as good. WTF?!? Got something against muppets?
- WildBil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has been my #1 digg for so long and I still got to say.
BRAVO! More! - SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lame for posting to a forum instead of youtube.
- slowmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The skins, textures, and shaders were weak although the modeling was very similar in quality and poly count to the Southpark version...minimal effort could have produced far more stunning results...would have taken a fair bit longer to render but I think it would have been worth it.
- iheardrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No! I'm saying that it's really good... I never learned stuff like that in my intro classes.
- zengame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just saw muppet version and original one simultaneously to compare.
This is amazing!
