- cathead, on 07/21/2009, -0/+5I would kill for a hostess snack cake right now.
- jjohnstn, on 07/21/2009, -0/+5I ordered the Sea Monkeys and sold Grit newspaper as a kid. The Sea Monkeys never hatched, let alone created an underwater family. However, I did sell enough Grit newspapers to receive a pocketknife. I may even have that knife around here somewhere.
- Gr00ver, on 07/21/2009, -1/+5If the Dingo don't fit, you must acquit.
- gusyehia, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2thanks this is great
- palehorse864, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2The Charles Atlas muscle ad was used as a basis for the previews of the TF2 Sniper Update.

- spanky6256000, on 07/20/2009, -1/+3I remember running to the pool with my X-Ray sunglasses, hoping to see some naked ladies. lol
- KMFDM781, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2I'm 31 and they were definitely around then. I remember them fondly coming from the Johnson Smith Company (Things you never knew existed) and other companies.
- praisethelard, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2If you're serious, contact me.
- densetsu23, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Something's fishy with that Charles Atlas ad...
"THAT GUY HAS MAN-BOOBS! I BET HE USES TABLE-BASED LAYOUTS!"
WTF? - Reddog_x2000, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1I'm 42 and can say for sure that they were around in the mid to late 70's.
- densetsu23, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Wow. Sounds like he's a master at pleasuring women, not inciting children to sell crappy merchandise in exchange for more crappy merchandise.
- hokeywhiteboy, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I remember most of those adds. I actually sent off for pretty much all of them... it is just that I did not include any money. I hoped they would not notice, and just send the stuff anyway. They did notice, and did not send a thing :-(
- marx2k, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Where's the Captain-O ads?
- PanthusDire, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1HAHA, read the INSULT one...someone edited it. "Crazy good at proper web design." LOL
"Nested tables make me angry enough to punch people in the face!! DIV based LAYOUTS RULE!!!" KAPOW. - CasualNinja, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I remember this one kid used to have comics with boobies in them. He was a god.
- womweasel, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I just picked up a hard bound reissue of Eerie Magazine (a horror comic from Warren Publishing). One of the nice things about the reissue is that the original adverts were left intact. Apparently you could have a live monkey shipped to you for $5.95 (plus tax and shipping) in the 1960s. They claimed the baby monkey would eventually grow into a 12 inch tall adult. Any of you diggers ever order the live baby monkey?

- wertach, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Mine hatched, strange creatures, died in a few days.
- BBoombastic, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Why does OJ sign the autograph book as "O.J. Dingo?" Is he so fixated on the boots that he can't even remember what his own last name is?
- wertach, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1They were still around in the 60's. I bought the X-ray glasses, my brother bought the Charles Atlas Body Building. I read the Charles Atlas thing and it was really good. I still remember the statement about a healthy bowel system, good advise. The X-ray glasses were a lot of fun at school. I just turned the double nickle................
- marx2k, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1But... but... only 34,000 more greeting cards and I can have that Commodore 64!!

- skipvt, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I ordered the sea monkeys. They looked like little pieces of dandruff floating in water.
- crossmr, on 07/21/2009, -1/+1No you don't. You're 31. At the age you would have begun reading these, early to mid 80s, these kinds of ads weren't really around anymore.
These ads are all 50s ads a long time before you were born.
