- vind, on 04/17/2008, -11/+5These are hilarious. I always appreciate the humor of the New Yorker.
"Once ze animal is dead, the rest is simple!"- oneoverzero, on 04/17/2008, -2/+3Most are pretty good, but some are crap.
I don't think that they gained anything being put into video though.- 5urr3al5am, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2completely agree.. why would you animate a single cell comic?.. it in fact takes away from it
- se1zure, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1No foxtrot ftl
- Godlike, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1These are not very funny. Maybe they are probably just total knee slappers to people like Al Greenspan and Ben Stein.
- oneoverzero, on 04/17/2008, -2/+3Most are pretty good, but some are crap.
- whiterice0, on 04/17/2008, -4/+28Just as stupid as The New Yorker cartoons have always been, but at least now I can understand more than half of them.
- citizenchan, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Satirical, but not funny.
- toppgun, on 04/17/2008, -4/+2this is the best one and it is funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpHLEm9-0bg
- brundlefly76, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3New Yorker cartoons are hit and miss - but when they hit, its great.
I see no need whatsoever to animate them though - bad idea.
- baldgye, on 04/17/2008, -7/+1:( for some reason there was only sound on the dog animation
- ChzPlz, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I had sound on the naked cigar smokers. Didn't try any of the rest - don't generally find 'em funny.
- everett3, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4I had sound on all of them.
- Namco, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1So out of all of them, you chose the one with old naked fat men and cigars?
- schmimd04, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1i had sound on none of them.....oh yea, no sound card at work :(
- Shakermaker, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Just you. They worked fine for me.
- ChzPlz, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I had sound on the naked cigar smokers. Didn't try any of the rest - don't generally find 'em funny.
- jbob2000, on 04/17/2008, -1/+36I'd Be More Apathetic If I Weren't So Lethargic
- kibbets, on 04/17/2008, -6/+30Watched 4 or 5. Don't find any of them funny myself.
- nerdherder, on 04/17/2008, -0/+10Me neither, was kinda expecting a laugh.
- antdude, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4I laughed at http://www.newyorker.com/humor/cartoons/daily/vide ... ...
- directedition, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Haha. I didn't get that far before giving up. Thanks for posting it, that was a good one. But it really could have ended much sooner.
- antdude, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4I laughed at http://www.newyorker.com/humor/cartoons/daily/vide ... ...
- nerdherder, on 04/17/2008, -0/+10Me neither, was kinda expecting a laugh.
- Steinr, on 04/17/2008, -6/+3one more entertaining comic to visit to waste valuable work time.
- NadesXe, on 04/17/2008, -1/+15"On the Internet...nobody knows you're a dog."

- PrincessSalami, on 04/17/2008, -2/+9Who is it that decides that these comics are funny? Some are but most aren't even mildly amusing while some are about as funny as I am being right now. Only not as a cleaver, and thats not saying much...
April 11th, March 26th,14th and 12th are some pretty good ones.- DreKor, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3was cleaver supposed to be some kind of pun? if it was, it wasn't very funny.
- PrincessSalami, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1yep intentionally not funny nor clever, ya got me.
It was a typo- it was early in the morning and I barely got 4 hours of sleep if you must know.
- PrincessSalami, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1yep intentionally not funny nor clever, ya got me.
- DreKor, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3was cleaver supposed to be some kind of pun? if it was, it wasn't very funny.
- Intangible360, on 04/17/2008, -2/+18Yeah, I watched a bunch of them and not one of them was even mildly funny.
- everett3, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1really? I see where you're coming from, but what about the sleeping beauty one?
- Mandeo, on 04/17/2008, -3/+9I am glad to see I am not the only one who did not find them funny, at all.
- Heavypettingzoo, on 04/17/2008, -2/+6lame...
- uruururr, on 04/17/2008, -3/+3i want 30 seconds of my life back
- QaSpel, on 04/17/2008, -2/+7Not very funny and the animation didn't add anything to the comic.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/17/2008, -1/+10Jerry: You ripped off a Ziggy?
Elaine: It must've seeped up my subconscious , Puddy has Ziggy bed sheets....D'you read the comics today?
Jerry: I see that Ziggy's back at the complaint department.. "The New Yorker is stealing my ideas." ha ha ha See that's funny.....'cause it's real. - exformation, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2No one has an ass here at the New Yorker.
- lex0nyc, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6Because it's so hard to just read them...
- punkcat, on 04/17/2008, -0/+34i dare say my monocle popped off my eye at least twice during these uproarious cartoons.
- Axemantitan, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2What was the name of the music on the first one?
- Axemantitan, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Any particular reason I am being dugg down for asking a simple question? A grudge perhaps?
- facereplacer, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5they're even less funny animated!
- knobidy, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6I feel like my sense of humor died.
- directedition, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1It's like reading a Cathy. Joke detector is blinking, but humor response circuits aren't activating.
- mancat, on 04/17/2008, -2/+3well I guess if I fail at everything else in life, I can always be a cartoonist for the new yorker.
also, who decided that city dwellers must love jazz bass lines? - kamikaze87, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2The New SNOREker
- stinkypyper, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2This is brilliant. Way to stay ahead. A news paper animating it's cartoons.
- OneZeroZeroOne, on 04/17/2008, -3/+7Probably going to make myself seem like an uncultured rube, but what is up with the New Yorker's comics? They're patently unfunny and always have been. Is it some sort of snobbish inside joke or secret handshake of the self-proclaimed upper echelons of society? Are you supposed to pretend that you think they're funny (or brainwash yourself into thinking so) so that you'll be accepted as a member of the elite crowd?
- shockingbird, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2For god's sake, don't be elitist. That's worse than being racist these days.
- directedition, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1"Probably going to make myself seem like an uncultured rube" - What other purpose does the New Yorker have?
- hoghug, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I love New Yorker cartoons. I hate these animations. The brilliance of their cartoons is the simplicity of a single frame. A moment in time captured with a simple caption. Making these move and dragging out the punchline totally ruins the joke. It makes as much sense as animating the Mona Lisa and is about half as funny.
- Squeeself, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Except, for single frame comics, they're remarkably unoriginal and not funny. The Far Side and other single-frame comics do a MUCH better job.
- Laughto, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1it's like a non-ironic lasgnecat (http://www.lasagnacat.com/)
eg http://www.lasagnacat.com/FinalFantasy.mov - liquisoft, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2The pig says "my wife's a slut"?
Now that's a complaint. - itbescott, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Wow I had no idea how not funny the New Yorker is. Thanks Digg!!
- wizalt, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0There's a great site where you can post your own "anti-captions," which I enjoy to do from time to time. http://www.radosh.net/archive/001648.html
- stanleyford, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2You might lose something going from a video to a single-panel comic, but you gain nothing by going from a single-panel comic to a video. Vorshtein?
- terryhuang, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1dilbert is so much better when it comes to boring comics
- talkenglish, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Wow I finally realized how much of a pretentious ass I am, I actually laughed at a few of them. Regardless of their humor the music composition was above par.
