- grapeguy, on 10/28/2009, -2/+171I'm pretty sure that Darth Vader is not a superhero.
- bluerazor413, on 10/29/2009, -1/+93and his lightsaber isn't made out of plastic
- bluerazor413, on 10/29/2009, -1/+49out actually fighting the wars, with Wolverine.
- C777K, on 10/29/2009, -2/+48Captain Planet was out protesting said wars.
- Langford, on 10/28/2009, -2/+38Where is Captain America?
- beloitpiper, on 10/29/2009, -3/+38They could've done so much more with this.
- HouseofEl, on 10/29/2009, -4/+39This could have been something really interesting instead they use either images from films or just bad costumes. They literally are just sticking them in the pictures. There isn't any connection to the photos really. This isn't even a situation of someone just having poor photoshop skills. This looks more like a half ass attempt at a great idea.
- Sewermutt, on 10/28/2009, -8/+38Photoshopped. I can tell from the pixels.
- GregFD3S, on 10/29/2009, -2/+31Go on...
- bluerazor413, on 10/29/2009, -0/+25The Hulk picture looked awesome
- charliecharlos, on 10/29/2009, -2/+25Reminds me of the beginning of Watchmen. 'Course would've been a lot better if they had the old costumes.
- jeremiahjw, on 10/28/2009, -4/+24Before I looked at the article I was kinda betting on a Superman being in a pic. Of course a FAIL as there wouldn't have been a WWII if he existed...
- inactive, on 10/28/2009, -0/+18That's assuming all superheroes are American. I don't think it's a stretch to say every nation, ethnicity, and ideology would have their share of superheroes if such a thing were commonplace.
Then we'd have a conventional ground war going on while superheroes are beating the ***** out of either other in the air.
I'm generally a pacifist, but that would be ***** sweet. - Skurt, on 10/28/2009, -1/+18This
- jeremiahjw, on 10/28/2009, -2/+16Although the question is if Darth Vader would join the dark side. :-?
- badwithcomputer, on 10/29/2009, -2/+16http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=573XmVOdD2Q
- BookaShade, on 10/29/2009, -0/+14Batman may be human but he is the coolest one there. He doesn't have to rely on superpowers to get the job done. (sure he has millions of dollars) but he is a badass.
- directedition, on 10/29/2009, -1/+13Yeah, the prequels didn't cover the time he spent fighting crime in New York City.
- ray42, on 10/29/2009, -1/+12http://browsei.com/upload/Pictures/direct/ww2-at-a ...
If the German's had AT-AT's we'd be screwed. - MacBandit, on 10/29/2009, -0/+10The Hulk image was the best.
- b3owulf, on 10/29/2009, -0/+9These are terribly lame
- sporkman, on 10/28/2009, -1/+10There wouldn't have been a war if ANY of them existed. Batman could sneak in anywhere and scare/beat the ***** out of Hitler, ending the war.
Darth Vader could use the force to A. strangle tons of people to death B. Stand on a battlefield deflect bullets with his lightsaber and hack people to death. and C. Use a mind trick to convince Hitler to stop the war and/or commit suicide. In fact, I think Vader would be the most likely to END the war, as he is the only one that has absolutely no problem with killing people.
Spiderman, drop him out of a plane and have him land somewhere and spray a bunch of guys with web. and then have troops come in and take them prisoner.
Hulk SMASH!
The Flash, the man can run so fast he can travel through time, tell me what CAN'T he do? - gankige, on 10/28/2009, -5/+13Dugg for Batman standing behind communism. I KNEW IT!
- Ignatz720, on 10/29/2009, -3/+11This would have been a lot more interesting (and appropriate) if they had stuck with Golden Age superheroes.
- KokomoNYC, on 10/29/2009, -0/+7And I didn't need a molded plastic suit to improve my physique. *Taps chest* Pure West.
- kanojo1969, on 10/29/2009, -0/+7Yeah that was really obvious, not very impressive. Mind you, I think as a whole this set is a good idea executed very badly - the newer parts of the image don't really fit, the lighting isn't right in most of them, there is no 'old film' texture on the newer parts, etc.
But worst of all, there's just no context for any of it. The only one where the new character fits is the second one of Vader, because the other people in the photo are looking at him. The rest of the pictures, the superhero appears to be invisible as the other people go about their jobs seemingly oblivious. The picture of the troops carrying artwork on the steps is particularly bad, as superman is inserted, looking off at some weird angle totally unrelated to anything in the photo, he's standing in an un-natural pose on a sloped surface, the others in the pic are stealing or rescuing artwork but he doesn't appear to be doing anything related to them.
This is a cool idea but without some actual effort it is a big letdown. Very lazy. - Baconation, on 10/29/2009, -0/+6Dugg for the Hulk one being extremely awesome looking.
- browwiw, on 10/29/2009, -0/+6Technically, M.I.A.
- Puppytwo, on 10/29/2009, -2/+8Batmans armor looks awfully new
- randmcnally, on 10/28/2009, -3/+9so they could only find one picture of Darth Vader and then they used it twice?
"just cover his hand and change the lighting, no one will notice"
he's not even a super hero! - Fabbyfubz, on 10/29/2009, -0/+6"Moments before Spiderman was killed, he gave us this pose"
- jimmysilvs, on 10/29/2009, -0/+6is it just me... or does fidel castro look a lot like liam neeson there?
- l800LEMMINGS, on 10/29/2009, -0/+5awesome concept poor execution, most of the characters are almost randomly inserted they have almost no place in the pictures, while blended well they obviously don't fit into the story the picture tells
- VeroZ, on 10/29/2009, -0/+5Boring Photoshops on Digg
- Conguent, on 10/29/2009, -0/+5"Times they are a-changing."
- iritegood, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4Wonderful intro.
- appleseed1234, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4Working in a Chinese sweatshop.
- abcdeath, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4dugg for accepting the fact that the flash is a badass and can travel through time
and ***** superman! - insomniacal, on 10/29/2009, -1/+5That Spider-Man looks even dumpier than Tobey Maguire.
- imakethenews, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4The times, they are a-changing.
- MikeyMoose, on 10/29/2009, -2/+6He came to the fight; unfortunately he was 2 years, 3 months, and 10 days late...
- WoollyMittens, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4Maybe it's Chad Vader? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Vader
- dronkmunk, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4These remind me of something that would have been in The Watchmen.
- DeathTrendSetta, on 10/29/2009, -0/+4Reminds me of The Watchmen.
- mrwright613, on 10/29/2009, -0/+3http://browsei.com/upload/Pictures/direct/ww2-at-a ...
boom - Idonteven, on 10/29/2009, -0/+3I've never seen the movie, but is it as great as the opening credits makes it out to be?
- IamZed, on 10/29/2009, -3/+6This would make for a nice opening for a movie. Oh.......it did.
- Gravey9, on 10/29/2009, -2/+5Should have been Superman (Red Son)
http://www.superherotimes.com/news/images/Elseworl ... - mablung, on 10/29/2009, -0/+3Wow no one EVER looks good in a spiderman costume... it always bunches up like adult full body pajamas or something. I need to find a new halloween costume quick!
