- Jaxelyse, on 01/04/2009, -10/+38Here's an oldie but goodie : )
http://images.chron.com/blogs/nickanderson/archive ... - ranon78, on 01/04/2009, -2/+28If you have to explain a cartoon, the cartoon is terrible.
- chrillen, on 01/04/2009, -6/+19OPINIONS ON MY INTERNETS? IT'S MORE LIKELY THAN YOU THINK!
- kevlar21, on 01/04/2009, -0/+12Interesting how you can only see one panel at a time. Good idea, since I sometimes have a tendency to accidentally read the last one first or glance over and the joke is ruined.
- diggnidy, on 01/04/2009, -6/+16dugg for mountain goat in the last comic
- picpak, on 01/04/2009, -3/+13Dugg just for the Joy of Tech iPhone one. That one's hilarious.
- theOster, on 01/04/2009, -2/+12it's not you.
- JellyFish62, on 01/04/2009, -3/+12I am laughing. Or at least I try to.
- cloudberries, on 01/04/2009, -0/+8I did make a little laugh noise at that one. Then I ceased the laugh noises when I realised that the cartoon describes me a little too well.
- digitalpencil, on 01/04/2009, -0/+7buffali?
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -3/+10The Joy of Tech i-Phone one is the only funny and true one when it comes to i-zombies
- ayeroxor, on 01/04/2009, -1/+8"Usage Note: It is widely asserted that none is equivalent to no one, and hence requires a singular verb and singular pronoun: None of the prisoners was given his soup. It is true that none is etymologically derived from the Old English word ān, "one," but the word has been used as both a singular and a plural noun from Old English onward. The plural usage appears in the King James Bible as well as the works of John Dryden and Edmund Burke and is widespread in the works of respectable writers today. Of course, the singular usage is perfectly acceptable. The choice between a singular or plural verb depends on the desired effect. Both options are acceptable in this sentence: None of the conspirators has (or have) been brought to trial. When none is modified by almost, however, it is difficult to avoid treating the word as a plural: Almost none of the officials were (not was) interviewed by the committee. None can only be plural in its use in sentences such as None but his most loyal supporters believe (not believes) his story. See Usage Notes at every, neither, nothing."

- Foxtrot, on 01/04/2009, -0/+6i didnt know i was needed.
- rusty0101, on 01/04/2009, -0/+6It's not just you, there appears to be a large number of people who think that the only use of comics is to express humor, who have no concept of the possibility that the artist may have some other idea in mind in the creative process.
"Oooh! Oooh! Comic! Must be funny!. What? This one relates an every day experience? How stupid, I wanted to see something funny." - GamingBob, on 01/04/2009, -0/+6I semi laughed at the one with the guy reading the newspaper in the car.
- ayeroxor, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5You are mistaken. "Is it just me, or is none ... funny?" is basically the sentence. "of these cartoons" is a (prepositional?) phrase within the sentence. Remember sentence trees? (Do English classes still do those?) "of these cartoons" would off on a branch of its own.
- cloudberries, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5I don't think they're explaining the cartoons directly, more that they're explaining the rationale behind the cartoons
- pfhayter, on 01/04/2009, -1/+6Dugg for Wii Fitt toon
- hobojoe789, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Well there is no xkcd so they cant be THAT retarded
- spartarising, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Summary: We really like the Joy of Tech, but lets throw in some political cartoons that are semi-tech related so that we seem smart and sophisticated.
- yor1001, on 01/04/2009, -6/+10I laughed at the iphone toon...so yeah its just you.
- ZincSaucier, on 01/04/2009, -0/+4oh i get it because if you spend money on an expensive phone you can't afford to spend it on gas as gas is expensive nowadays but so are smartphones so its tough decision if you should get a smartphone or spend money on gas instead of getting a smartphone because a smartphone has all these extra features but the gas is a necessity
- absurdist, on 01/04/2009, -1/+4It's from Wired. What did you expect, they'd be funny?
- wadd, on 01/04/2009, -1/+4I liked the tail-wagging alternative energy scheme...
- Carlsen, on 01/04/2009, -1/+4(insert wanking sound here)
- thegman3, on 01/04/2009, -3/+6LMAO @ the rake cartooon.
- Snaggy, on 01/04/2009, -0/+3Thanks picpak :-)
- CanadaMan87, on 01/04/2009, -1/+4They're mostly editorial cartoons, which aren't meant to necessarily be funny.
- bduddy, on 01/04/2009, -2/+5Needs more Foxtrot.
- SuburbianMike, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2mountain goats killed my family...
- trake, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Not all Comics are supposed to be slapstick spill milk out your nose funny. These were some pretty smart comics that bought about the causes and effects of tech trends better than most articles I've read. Overall I thought it was a great post...
Seems like people replying to this comment agree with this, Yet the main comment "Is it just me, or is none of these cartoons funny?" has 70 diggs??? Talk about hypocrisy. - GeyserShitdick, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog.
- Incomp3tnt, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2They were all wank. Period.
- PhillyOC, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Have you ever seen a baby pigeon?
- cloudberries, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Although it is "turning a profit" in the same way cinemas turn a profit off popcorn.
- atm259, on 01/04/2009, -10/+12Needs moar Xkcd.
- Scira, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Double ***** could be a meme.
Not a very good one, but then again, most of them aren't. - lazybuoy, on 01/04/2009, -2/+4I get upset every time I think about how badly the telecoms are ripping us off. But then I think about the situation in Mexico and start to feel a little bit better.
- jrburkh, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2FTA:
"Singer just draws the funniest eyeballs in the business."
Um, okay. Looks pretty standard to me. - GramarNazi, on 01/04/2009, -2/+4Example:
"*Not one* of these cartoons is (not are) funny."
Same with "none." - Lemguy, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3Dugg for "F@#K you professorrrRR AAAHHHH"
- hfactor, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Of course it is.
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3Ah, another comic that assumes that the iPhone is the only smartphone (or the first) that has a higher initial price than a cheapie flip phone and also makes you pay extra for a data plan. HOLY *****, a phone with multimedia/internet capabilities with unlimited internet access is going to COST MORE?? Holy crap, did the iPhone start that trend??
- danewb, on 01/17/2009, -0/+1Haha. Could be. Still, you wasted space.
