- inactive, on 10/22/2009, -0/+22I hope this turns out good for the TMNT franchis
- groonk, on 10/22/2009, -0/+16I don't know. Seeing TMNT's original non-cartoony premise would be a nice change.
- jorgio, on 10/22/2009, -2/+17At least it didn't go the way of Marvel, wearing mouse ears.
- mrMunchies, on 10/22/2009, -0/+15Hopefully a new TMNT film will be better than the 3rd one that they made.
- TSCheredar, on 10/22/2009, -0/+15I'm guessing Nickelodeon will keep the franchise more on the cartoony path that initially led to TMNT becoming huge in the mainstream. I'm sort of ok with that.
- shauntacular, on 10/22/2009, -0/+9I would have been happier if Cartoon Network bought it, who's that Turner??
- TSCheredar, on 10/22/2009, -0/+9No no, not slime... OOZE... Secret Ooze.
- cheapo17, on 10/22/2009, -0/+8great now u get to see the tmnt covered it green slime, how exciting
- TSCheredar, on 10/22/2009, -0/+8That third movie was such crap. I remember being so ridiculously excited when I was younger right before it came out. Looking back this was probably the first time I was ever really let down by a film.
- TextingTina, on 10/22/2009, -1/+9Ninja Turtles were the best f'n ninjas ever!
- palehorse864, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5I like turtles!
- bubbameister33, on 10/23/2009, -1/+6If they can make it the quality of Avatar then I'm down.
- XMovieGodX, on 10/22/2009, -1/+6Frara Jacqa!
- Ziriux, on 10/22/2009, -2/+7This is good news, as I def. trust what Nick does.
- rees18, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4Even though applying 'a darkness' to superhero movies is being overdone lately... I think this could work perfectly for TMNT... and as you say giving a 'rugrats' feel would do it no favours at all.
p.s. The reason why I think this whole darkness thing works so well, is that it allows us to appreciate in a new way the cartoons and films we loved as kids. - smack1700, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4Michelangelo, is a part-y dude
- amirman, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4Raphael is cool but rude
- smack1700, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines
- empressofmetal, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3I agree. I think we've seen a lot of the cartoony stuff, which is cool too. But, it'd be nice to see something different.
- iwashere2, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Cowabunga!
- theCoffee, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3But remember, Nickelodeon produced Avatar
- SketchaMPM, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2Not anymore. But...
90's Nickelodeon > 00's Disney - pjsmike, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2i would be very impressed if they can pull off making a game thats in the caliber of Turtles in Time (snes)
really, TMNT has so much potential but somehow companies manage to ***** it over again and again. where are the risk takers with creativity these days? - RBobby, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2This might have been cool back in the late 80s and early 90s when both Nick and the Turtles were in their prime, but somehow, I don't think either the franchise or the network will benefit much from this, let alone perform any better.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2I agree. Old Disney was awesome
- CassiBruce, on 10/23/2009, -1/+3I was a HUGE Turtle fan when I was little, so in saying that- The Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the only version of the cartoons worth watching. The movies, one and two, were OK. Not great but OK. I wish they'd stop kicking this dead horse. Stop revamping my cartoons for the younger generations!!
- MacHarborGuy, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2Shredder no shredding! Shredder no shredding!
- c3rb85, on 10/26/2009, -0/+2agreed.
It's sad though that kids today didn't get the chance to grow up with some good animated series and saturday morning cartoons.
Both Nick and Cartoon Network have gone down hill in their content. - Tyler2tall147, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1I don't know why you are getting dugg down, the original comics were dark as *****
- BrothaJonze, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1Pretty damn good pricetag
- Jorlock, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1The 2003 series was followed he comics for the most part.
I'm still surprised they allowed Leo to decapitate the shredder. - fuzzynyanko, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1I heard that CN is going to someone else as well
- ducttape36, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1me too, but still disappointed that its CGI. whatever happened to good old fashion animation? nick is still fairly decent at it, they should have brought the turtles back to their 80s glory.
- Elranzer, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1Only the first movie. The second movie was very kiddy. If you don't remember, go watch it again.
- c3rb85, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1I don't know if I trust Nick much anymore. They were in their glory in the 90's and early 2000's but of the recent years they've been falling, and I think this is a move to help pick them up.
I would like to see nick bring back their classic nicktoons on the nicktoons channel but it seems nicktoons has fallen into the same pit that nickelodeon has fallen into by only really having several shows that they show all day long. Even nick at nite has fallen to this. It's kind of odd seeing malcom in the middle on nick at nite when the show only ended 3 years ago. - fuzzynyanko, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1The movies were closer to the comic books, which were actually pretty dark
- Mujokan, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1I read a few of the original comics, and they were pretty cool. I also had affection for the cartoon/movie franchise back in the 1990s. I figure that aesthetic, along with Usagi Yojimbo and similar comics, still has plenty of mileage if it's handled right.
- GordonV, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1::cue TMNT TV Theme::
- inajeep, on 10/23/2009, -2/+2Damn, I know I'll get buried but I never liked the TMNT. This means more regurgitated watered down or re-imagined versions. They always disturbed me although the live action movie for some odd reason wasn't that bad. I was more of a Marineboy and Speed Racer fan.
- TheLedFloyd, on 10/23/2009, -2/+2Nickelodeon > Disney
- onlines, on 10/23/2009, -2/+1The only way this series can be correctly re-done, is by applying a darkness to the entire series. Get Christopher Nolan on the project. I hope Nickelodeon does not apply a, "Rugrats" feel to it.
- Spoomeister, on 10/23/2009, -2/+1Too bad Disney didn't get the rights... Miley Cyrus as April O' Neil, anyone?
- SageShini, on 10/23/2009, -2/+0Ugh. Article mentions a new "CGI" series. When are they going to get that the last good CGI series was Reboot, which (IIRC) was the FIRST CGI series. Everything else should stick to regular animation.
I was so excited when I heard there would be a brand-new Iron Man cartoon...only to find out that, "Hey, its crappy CGI again!"
Oh, and he's a teenager. The worst point in IM's 40+ year history and they make a cartoon out of it. Sometimes I wonder how those people get hired... - AndrewDB, on 10/23/2009, -4/+2*****.
There goes the chances of ever seeing an R rated TMNT movie. :[ - 32bytes, on 10/23/2009, -7/+1This is the first episode they´ve just produced:
