enjoy - TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It takes some time to muddle through but if you're familiar with basic philosophical history and futurism it rings very true.
- TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7A stand alone complex is used to describe a subconcious connection through the network with links all "cyberbrains". The series is describing the leadup to a technological singularity which can follow several paths. Ghoda's or Kuse's. (See GITS GIG2)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity - novaredstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This is awesome. Loved Stand Alone Complex and am really looking forward to checking this out. Thanks.
- jacenat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7-) wrong aspect ratio
-) terrible quality
whats the point in linking this and not the torrent? - Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Digg cut my edit off, what I was going to say was:
For those of you wondering what a stand alone complex is, it's basically a copycat crime with no original crime. For more info see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stand_Alone_Complex
And the stand alone complex series has no relation to the movies. Completely different universe, or alternate universe, if you will. - stolenpanda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5just finished watching it and was suprised on how good the series is remaining. This felt more in line with the first two movies as well, but seems to be story driven to work out if you have only seen the first two movies, or if you have seen the series. Damn good :-D
- TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The series should be able to be enjoyed by those looking for kick ass anime action and philosophical futurist mind bending alike. Unfortunately some people feel intimidation rather than wonder at the deep currents running through the Ghost in the Shell narrative.
- NoNom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'll buy it. It's one of the best dubs after Cowboy Bebop. But I'm impatient so I'll d/l it when I get home then buy it when it comes out.
Now if they would just drop the Stand Alone Complex box set down from $100. If it was Stand Alone Complex AND 2nd Gig I'd kinda understand. A $100 for 26 episodes is just wrong.
At least Bandai gets it. They sell their anime season/series box sets at the same prices as non-anime box sets. - everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4no not rly.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's a film. Youtube's max clip size is 9 minutes so it has to be spread apart.
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i think i'll wait for DVD. or at least a full fansub torrent. i need to catch up on the 2nd gig series.
- chr0mekitten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'll be glad to buy it in 2007 (It'll go nicely on my shelf with my other GItS DVDs) or when the asinine DVD region system finally goes away. In the meantime, I'll watch it how I can.
- shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3hopefully they'll upload it to google, I don't think it has that restriction
either way, this is ***** awesome. I've seen all the Ghost In the Shell episodes and movies, and I'm not usually an anime fan. - Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you can wrap you head around it, Ghost in the Shell is hands down the best anime. Innocence was freaking awesome.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3omg omg! I literally started jumping up and down when i read the title of this Digg. I am buying this as soon as it comes out in america.
When are they gonna release some anniversary full on boxed set of everything GitS? I don't care if it's like $300, it would totally get bought.... - edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Go for the torrent. For something as beautifully animated as SAC, youtube's crappy quality is doing it a disservice.
- digitaloxygen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3More details on this movie can be found here > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_in_the_Shell:_S.A.C._Solid_State_Society
- NotADoctor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When SAC first came out, it was said in one of the media releases that the series occurred "in a universe where the Major did not meet the puppet master." A curious turn of phrase, I thought.
Oh, and because someone will eventually ask questions:
The first Ghost in the shell movie is oft referred to as "The Puppet-master".
Then came the Ghost in the shell series "Stand Alone Complex", which contains the same people, but set in a universe where they didn't meet the puppet-master.
The second movie "Innocence" is a sequel to the first movie, and the second series "2nd gig" comes chronologically after the first series.
This third movie, "Solid State Society" comes after the second series. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5heres a new concept: buy something once in a while, especially all of you "oh i love this so much" people
- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sure, let's all wait 6 months while they twiddle their fingers and we don't have the movie.
- OkayDoood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.mininova.org/tor/462102
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@NotADoctor:
and so it is completely unrelated to the first two movies? - jacenat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2120fps?
typo?
thx anyways. i found a similar torrent on mininova (via isohunt).
any details to your version? size? - everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the post margins cut off the link, but if you double click the line and select it all, it should paste in your browser fine.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2oh ***** yes
- radda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who wants some formatted subtitles? Better timing, fewer lines onscreen at a time, moved notes to the top of the screen, etc.

1) Get the CCCP (www.cccp-project.net)
2) download the raw
3) name the raw and the sub file the same
4) ????
5) PROFIT! - Caliente, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this is too good to be be wasted on youtube quality. grab the torrent!!!
- SgtBeavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well that was well worth the time to watch it.
As always, GITS SAC does not disappoint. - radda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This IS the movie, it premiered on Japanese Pay Per View before being released on DVD later this month (the 24th I believe.).
For those of you that don't know, the first two theatrical movies (GitS and GitS 2: Innocence) have nothing to do with the TV series (Stand Alone Complex, 2nd GIG, and Solid State Society). They're different continuities. - small3687, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3OMG superb thank you!
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I need to watch it again...(innocence) then a third time with my eyes on more than just the lower third...
this is the only series that I would rather see with an English dub....just to see all the amazing animation
but I'm going to wait on the DVD as well, but I don't think the local video store will carry this one...since I was the only person to rent Innocence... - Grym11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, what I gathered from GITS:SAC, was that a Stand Alone Complex was actually a byproduct of their completely interconnected experiences. Because it was possible for people to experience events in the exact same way as others via their cyberbrains, people independently and uncontrollably (hence "stand alone") would develop psychological complexes identical to one another.
- stolenpanda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1also I should note that the end of this third movie does make a mad hint at the end of the first movie. Clearly it should be easier to pick at the writers brain! Mayhaps more will be revealed with a third season of the show.
sorry for spamming replies >_ - stolenpanda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I had not realized the universe of stand alone complex was not suposed to exsist with the movie ghost in the shell.
It would seem more like it takes place before hand, as at the end of the second season it heavily flows into the begining of the graphic novel, which is when they meet the puppet master, project 2501, whatever you want to call it, which is where the first ghost in the shell movie stems from. Then the first movie flows into the second movie which is meant to be parallel with the second graphic novel, where the major left section 9, is merged with the puppet master and is taking side jobs.
Which would lead to this third movie(tv movie) where section 9 years down the road after the major left, and she has come back. It just feels like they are trying to finally tie up all the loose ends and make the series into one constant universe since it has become so popular and to have loose ends and seperate universes would be silly.
However I have not seen any official statements to say this or the contrary and is really just my rambling. *shrugs* - GauntletWizard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Much as this is awesome, it's really NOT good that this is out. The show's been licensed, there's already an english DVD on the way. Wait for it to come out here. It's all well and good to download and watch fansubs to show your support for a series before it's licensed, but once it's coming over, show your support by buying the dvd or at least renting it.
- Falldog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is new to far to many people lol
- Mysk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Seen it. It's good. It's similar in feel to a long episode from the original series.
Bandai wouldn't have to go after anyone if they would get their dubbed films out faster. The fansub projects can do it, so why can't a company with money behind it? That's Bandai's problem, not our's. They snooze they lose.
That said, I wouldn't mind a collector's box myself. It's good stuff that's worth putting the money on. - abacadabbra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1already seen this, if you're a fan of ghost in the shell sac you'll enjoy it for sure.
- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sure, on the way, in 2007. People don't wait that long anymore.
- justplainan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I totally agree.
After watching Innocence, I felt I had earned enough credit towards an university degree. - saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1jacenat,
http://www.l33t-raws.org/bt/list.php - exsst, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2there's12 of these movies and each are 9:3minlong, which suggests it is a film... Is this a film or an episode?.. because it is titled "ep" as in "episode".
I do wonder sometimes if I need a new brain or if I am just too tired to realize what's going on.. anyone care to explain? - ithon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I just watched the movie today without knowing about the new series, kind of creepy.
- zwilliams, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You guys posting the torrents do realize you're handing the evidence right to Bandai right? They already publicly stated they will be pursuing legal action against all fan dub/subs. Bandai also said they would be going after all the downloaders as well.
- Zeroeon, on 12/03/2008, -0/+0watch anime series, anime episodes and anime movies at http://www.animeboom.net
- phoenix79, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here is the entire second season dubbed http://torrentspy.com/torrent/818668/Ghost_in_the_Shell_Stand_Alone_Complex_2nd_GIG_English_Dub I highly recommend this series although I think the 1st season was better!
enjoy :-) - phoenix79, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks for the link :-) Ghost in the Shell is utterly amazing and I would say that everyone should see the series. The translation was also great except the very last line was not included in the subtitles. Since it doesn't have any spoilers here it is:
"But you know, Batou, the net is indeed vast and infinite.
Soon, the next unimaginable stage of society will begin to take form."
I cannot wait until the dubbed version comes out in 2007. - rihojo, on 12/31/2008, -0/+0If you can afford it, you can afford to be critical. Try looking at life from another angle than your own seemingly narrow one!
