- mrgeekguy, on 04/11/2008, -11/+118At the end of my life, I will be missing 99 seconds.
- adminmatt, on 04/11/2008, -12/+99why is this so popular? its kinda neat but not 'most popular upcoming story' great.
something seems fishy - Cgeoffrion, on 04/11/2008, -8/+93i actually took a few inches off my living room doorway like that too when I moved in. Good call using the super glue, I went with the duct tape. Ahh the joys of living in a cardboard house
- DeviantDragon, on 04/11/2008, -3/+50Stop-motion is a form of animation.
- exomni, on 04/11/2008, -6/+38Front page? There are thousands of mediocre stop-motions on youtube. It was fine, but nothing at all special.
- Deehuff, on 04/11/2008, -25/+46This is such a good little animation with a touch of humour.
- theysayjump, on 04/11/2008, -7/+26That was a pile of wank.
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -10/+28wow i want to vomit.
- msolek, on 04/11/2008, -4/+21after work, 4 days
- pipermac, on 04/11/2008, -2/+17The reason it hit front page is because it was gamed! probably by piqq.us.
it took 200 friggin diggs to make the front page!!!!! a sure indicator of being gamed! - DeathJux, on 04/11/2008, -2/+17The complete lack of production value makes it look like it was made in a single evening by some bored college students.
"Kinda neat" is giving it more credit than I would. - had3l, on 04/11/2008, -0/+13And it just made "Top in all Topics". I call BS.
- Iknockstuffdown, on 04/11/2008, -1/+14This stop-motion video was *****. Theres no reason that it should have made front page.
- synystar, on 04/11/2008, -8/+21...
- MrFanrastic, on 04/11/2008, -14/+24I like the last scene.
- Lemonion, on 04/11/2008, -0/+9I get it. The fellow who created the video has set it up for Director's Awards, which makes him money. He has 50+ videos up that have made him over $4000. He's also the one who submitted it to DIGG in the hopes of getting more views. Looks like he's figured out a way to make a few bucks linking DIGG & Metacafe together. I'd say whatever was used to get the DIGGs up so high is also the same method he uses to get his vids up too. Eventually, they gain a certain momentum among the viewers that check out "Most Popular" Videos there....
Can't put my finger on it, but scamming DIGG to make cash from another site using mediocre videos raises my hackles. I'd rather get rickrolled, thanks.
In the time it took me to view the vid and comment here, the story has gotten over 100 DIGGs.
Is there anything that stops the DIGG Button from getting auto pressed a few hundred times? Also note he uses the same pic for profiles here and at Metacafe.
The vid would be cute if it were someone under the age of 10 that did it.
It would be appropriate levels of humour from someone aged 15.
This is a stop motion vid from a 27 yr old - HE'S 27. - jscnet, on 04/11/2008, -6/+15How in the name of ***** did this make it to front page, Digg! Seriously people.
- BrodyInc, on 04/11/2008, -7/+15Meh, front page? Nice, but I have seen much more interesting things get ripped to shreds. People seem to be glowing about this??
- mahler, on 04/11/2008, -1/+8You could have gotten at least 10 back, by not making your reply
- sleepyjjk, on 04/11/2008, -8/+14Despite all the negative comments - I enjoyed that. I'm sure it was a lot of fun and very rewarding.
- Acura666, on 04/11/2008, -3/+8You are a moron, this ***** sux.
- pipermac, on 04/11/2008, -1/+5I believe he does understand...thats his point.....the fact it has so many diggs and not front page indicates the other factors are taking place, factors like friends that all digg the same thing, If the user even clicked on the link to view the video, etc. Digg count is the primary thing that matters if all diggs were "quality" diggs it would have gone front page long ago. Not going at this many diggs indicates that the diggs are of low quality, most often a sign of the system attempting to be gamed. and It appears the digg system is smart enough to detect this, but as he said and I agree is that it takes up space on the hot list for other things that deserve to be there.
- ElBeh, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4The bug was fixed a couple of days ago...
- iancorey, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4Oh, wow. That was awesome! They were little people made out of clay and their house and stuff was all cardboard. TOO COOOOOL!!! I especially like the part where it completely sucked for the entirety. This reminds me of the work I was doing when I was 12.
- blackbelt88, on 04/11/2008, -2/+6This is my favorite stop motion video: http://www.compfused.com/directlink/717/
- da_bradler, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4actually i think there both clay
- moomza, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4We can thank Subvert & Profit (or a similar service) for this. There is no way this made it to the front page without cheating.
- noseeme, on 04/11/2008, -5/+8That was somehow oddly hypnotic.
- synystar, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3Once again: Digg count has nothing to do with front page. There are other factors. This time in lolcat: Duz not equal. Understand?
- RaggTopp, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3DO YOUR PART DIGGERS, BURY THIS *****, AND BURY ALL ***** COMMENTS ABOUT IT TOO!!
What the ***** is up with all these "that was cool" "that's really neat, well done" ***** ***** comments?
***** DIGG!!! This place is turning into a ***** joke. You all should have realized the ***** when they partnered with Metacrappy. Nothing good was going to come of them hooking up with a site known as a "***** Repository" on the internet. - synystar, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3I got RTFC'd.
- Raphyy, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3What are you talking about? Its better then seeing GTA IV posted every 4 hours...
- concretewave, on 04/11/2008, -3/+6Dugg for the authenticity. That's how a night of moving in always ends.
- DiggLive, on 04/11/2008, -2/+5That's what she didn't say to you.
- teekay87, on 04/11/2008, -4/+7awesome... drunk claymen...
- thatsmyaibo, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3Definition of animation: "A simulation of movement created by displaying a series of pictures, or frames."
Cartoons (that aren't done in Flash) are drawn 1 frame at a time then shot 1 frame at a time. Stop motion is the same thing with 3D objects. - ireland88, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3I want to say good work, but you could do better.
- sjl127, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3Stupid. You need a job.
- shmajent, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2I don't get it. Was I just Clay-Rolled?
- thepatster, on 04/11/2008, -4/+6Either way, it's pretty cool.
- SilverhammerMBA, on 04/11/2008, -6/+8This is really bad. It's not even or particularly creative. Spam, I think.
- JohnnyRad, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2"just because you're hung like a moose doesn't mean you gotta do porn." -Kumar
that clip was horrible - come up with something interesting next time. - gnarizard, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2again. why is this almost funny crap getting on the top 10?
- morninglorii, on 04/11/2008, -2/+4I mean, I agree that it sucks compared to a studio claymation film, but I think it's cool to see the work of other digg users, and I definitely enjoyed it, so I dugg it.
- Radica1Faith, on 04/11/2008, -3/+5Wait..this is front page worth? Well my animations are going up now.
- finir, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2Cartoons also drawn in Flash may be drawn 1 frame at a time. Production process is a little bit cheaper, and you can get that "non-Flash" (non-tween) look.
- aelias, on 04/11/2008, -3/+5Maybe I'm jaded, but if I were to do a 2 minute stop motion flick made up of stills, I'd probably toss in some photoshop fireballs or something. So much more could have been done to make this diggworthy. The only thing I thought was interesting was the shot of the real outside through the window. At least they didn't waste a ton of time.
- misterteenwolf, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3i totally enjoyed this. good work
