- ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -4/+71What's really cool about comics on Digg is how they are never funny.
- bananasluggy, on 08/25/2008, -3/+55My personal favorite has to be the cover of nearly every Women's magazine... Invariably there's an article on how to lose weight (unlike all the other ones, promise!), and, right under it, a picture of some huge cake, ice cream, or cream-covered dish.
- Onji, on 08/25/2008, -6/+43On the book rack...
Internet: The Book
tim75: BUY IT ITS GREAT
DOREE: ya whatever dood
XM37: YOUR A FAG - kellan6, on 08/25/2008, -6/+35the comic itself isnt that funny, its the titles of the books/mags that are worth the digg.
- tim75, on 08/25/2008, -2/+26BUY IT ITS GREAT
- whahaa, on 08/25/2008, -0/+23funny? oh you want a The Far Side calendar. digg is for the crazy people.
- kazakal28, on 08/25/2008, -8/+28Very unfunny. Kind of like how unfunny that floppy disc/cd comic that hit the first page a couple of days ago was.
- Hayaemsay, on 08/25/2008, -2/+18If you want a short read, i recommend "The Best of Internet Culture".
- Ransack, on 08/25/2008, -0/+151) xkcd stickman goes to newstand
2) xkcd stickman buys magazine about math
3) xkcd stickman complains about something
4) 10000 diggs - luke16, on 08/25/2008, -5/+16It would take the xkcd artist 5 years to produce a comic with artwork like that.
- tehbored, on 08/25/2008, -0/+9That pretty much is the comic.
- Psygnosis, on 08/25/2008, -0/+8Those are headlines on an actual Rolling Stone cover!
http://www.rollingstone.com/issue1058 - ELCad, on 08/25/2008, -0/+6So is today's xkcd
- HenryLegge, on 08/25/2008, -1/+7Steriotypical American Father - "Giving porn to your son: is Grade 3 too early? Our panel weighs in"
- biggerapple3am, on 08/25/2008, -3/+9Did the author come off as a naggy bitch to anyone else?
- x2cprincess, on 08/25/2008, -3/+8Note the cut-off issue of Rolling Stone, featuring some of the actual headlines from the current issue's cover. Rock & roll is really dead and gone, isn't it?
- tidu, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6don't forget the woman with a modest weight posing in the latest style, which will probably be out of style by the next issue.
- whatisnotmyname, on 08/25/2008, -0/+5how about lacking-in-cultural-exposure-and-possibly-trying-to-convince-himself-of-his-self-diagnosed-Asperger-syndrome crazy.
Sorry, I just never know what to say to the people who try to advertise their quirkiness, but only end up describing a kind of sad life. - ssj2119, on 08/25/2008, -6/+11Could've got the point across with less ink
- itsJALbert, on 08/25/2008, -0/+51. While I love Subnormality, why is one of the weakest comics being dugg?
2. If the comic image wasn't hotlinked, there'd be the phrase "Comix with too many words since 2007" at the top, which would save about 10 digg comments.
3. http://www.viruscomix.com/page440.html gets my vote for best comic there that I know hasn't been frontpaged. Although the Sphinx one that makes fun of religion would get frontpaged instantly as Digg just loves that sort of thing. - meez, on 08/25/2008, -0/+5I'm all for a bit of George Orwell, don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan, but that was one of the most irrelevant statements I've read all day.
- frenchkick, on 08/25/2008, -2/+7whats funny about it?
that it is partly true?
isn't it more sad than funny? - Andrwmorph, on 08/25/2008, -2/+7I looked through a few of those comics and man does that artist like making them overly wordy. It takes >3 minutes to read through each one.
Highlight: http://www.viruscomix.com/page446.html - Powerfan5000, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4That's why you didn't get it.
- g00dbye, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5Dugg for Onion Week.
- hotjava23, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3George Orwell would probably loathe the magazines on newstands and today's "literature" on bookstores.
- jhaydon, on 08/26/2008, -0/+3Dugg for making a new account just for the joke.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 08/25/2008, -1/+4I would love a copy of "Dom Deluise Magazine". Just for the fun of having it on my coffee table. I'm easily amused...
- hoghug, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3So Kathy Griffin is a cartoon character now?
- hotjava23, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3I was just reading his diary on the web, http://orwelldiaries.wordpress.com/, that's why he came to mind but yeah, my comment is pretty irrelevant.
- Cedargrove, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3Three ***** minutes of reading? Are you ***** kidding me??? OMFG, reading, if I wanted to read I wouldn't be on the internet, too many words, I can't even be bothered to read youtube descriptions. I just click on ***** all day so I don't have to read through stuff, haha, reading, what a ***** joke...
(The "slogan" of the comic is "Comix with too many words since 2007") - koonchu, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Meh. I didn't get it. Lost me when she went into the bookstore. I ***** love my bookstore--they have tons of occult reads that I faithfully buy.
- ZedoMann, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Not long enough for a pamphlet.
- limbikity, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2www.internetmagazine.com redirects to internet.com, what a letdown...
- jbmcb, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3So, magazines are catering to people's interests so people will buy them? What is the world coming to.
I subscribe to Woodworking Magazine because I like to build things. I must be a stark raving lunatic. - whatisnotmyname, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Yes. One example: Penn Station, a major metropolitan travel hub.
- Tokyosexwhale, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2I could definitely go for some more cat pics and hardcore nudity where I least expect it. As long as those two things don't cross...
- BradOFarrell, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2"The Quickly-Forgotten Life Lesson" "Chicken Soup For The Failure"
Amazing. - TomRemixed, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2As much as I cringed when I saw that in the mail I still quite enjoyed the articles in there. Plus the latest issue had Robert Downey Jr. on it. Rolling Stone has had their fair share of good and bad covers.
- jotate, on 08/25/2008, -4/+6Why would you draw your comic book character to have a Owen Wilson's nose?
- whatisnotmyname, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Maybe if you stepped out from behind your collection of Sylvia Brown and Starhawk books you'd see that the modern bookstore does suffer from an increasing amount of "Hey, you liked this sort of material when we printed it in a magazine or published it online, now buy the book!" content.
Sorry, I just never know what to say to the people who try to advertise their quirkiness, but only end up describing a kind of sad life. - polalion, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2It's one of those name card sized things.
- Quicksilver4648, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Is it a pamphlet?
- artfiend77, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Meh, ok joke, but the art is awesome.
- wburglett, on 08/25/2008, -2/+4digg him up! look at the name
- allhard, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Yea, pretty weak jab at Harper though.
- dumbconsumer, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1ignore this comment, wrong tab on firefox :D
- ultraseamus, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Eh, not all that great, the magazine covers were OK, but trying to extend it to books seemed like a stretch to me. But even if I thought that books were for crazy people, it would still be a pretty meh comic, I have no idea how it got so many Diggs.
- koonchu, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Ouch. Oh wait...lol. I just looked at the majority of your past comments. My bad, I had no idea you suffer from down syndrome. Oh great. Now I feel bad for blocking a retard. Tah-tah. ;)
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Dugg for "Tuesdays with Moron"
