- Ozmotear, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19Semi edit - I'm not sure that 3D is the right term here. The space they were drawn in is 3D, but the drawings themselves are 2D.
- Scopitone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Don't cross the streams!
- wedges, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11i agree, i wouldn't call them 3d.... but these are just plain awesome!
- maijc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9link to the actual animation

this one is the best static image IMO, amazing! - jrobbio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I wonder if they have sore arms after all that!
- HMMaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5they just set the shutter speed of the camera slower.
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Venkman, shorten your stream. I don't want my face burned off."
- 1807, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ive made some animations long that using long exposures and light pens I also included human interaction with the light sometime in September ill get them up on youtube cause if you guys thought those were cool you'll definitely think these are.
- Kiel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5i did this with my colledge once, its just stop motion with long exposures, but DAMN is it hard to do, gtting the shapes consistent would take some seroisly steady hands and alot of practice
- spencewah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2These are incredible, I need to make some
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Your "colledge"? How did that whole "colledge" thing work out for ya? :-P
Make-believe words "gtting," "seroisly," and "alot" for the win! - mindsnare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2totally diggworthy blogworthy also

- MicrowavedH2o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is the most trippin' movie ever...
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is like that speed sand art stuff but with ADD.
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Troy, your browser must not be showing animated GIFs properly. They're not static images.
- nepawoods, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Neat - you can actually view those in stereo (but not while animated). Open the same animation in two windows. Shrink the windows and bring close together. Pause the one on the left (right click, pause), then move the one on the right one or two frames to the left of the frame the right one is on. You now have two images from slightly different angles. Focus beyond them until they converge, and bingo - 3D.
- zachl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yup, it's down, at least for now
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've tried this sort of thing with still pictures, using long-exposure photography. That was hard enough just trying to get a good static image that looked like what I wanted it to be. Can't imagine trying to draw animations -- drawing each image so that the whole thing moves properly when animated. That's really cool.
- yoda133113, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are diff, they are added later by hand/comp
- Kajico, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Lots of software. Easiest most available, just open up Windows Movie Maker, throw in some stills in the time line in the right order and you've got animation. There's better software out there though, that gives you more control of stills and frame rate and such, but for the most part almost any video editor will do the trick.
- tounchin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1THATS AWESOME!
- laserdisc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
- awhileago, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1It was slightly interetsing the firts time...now I have seen this series of videos/photos for the 100th time in stumbling and they cease to interest me.
- MicrowavedH2o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1looks like he's hold a can of spray paint or some aerosol... not a penlight?
- LordofChaosIori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Read the rest of the comments before asking something, it might have already been answered.
- Etheo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All I could do was draw a straight line or so... I wish I could do light shows like that
- wooblemaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not 3D, but very cool! I wonder if they are just blurring images of themselves waving their arms around and then adding in the animation later. It looks more like the frame of reference in size of a person drawing it onto frames and not drawing it in the air with long exposure. If it IS done in the way it appears, then that is taking a lot of preparation and prolly many mistake were made to get it right.
- Renolc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did anyone else notice the heart taking a crap?
It's around the 2 minute mark if you're interested. :) - iAmGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Daedalus81
Draw One Image, take a picture, move and draw your next image, take a picture. Then animate it. I believe they also long-exposure photography as Wavey said. I can't explain that part to well, though I understand it. - brokencity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is AWESOME!
i want my own! - Spuls56, on 10/16/2008, -0/+0wow thats amazing
- Andy92, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0Wow thats AMAZING!
- cycletronic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow, that site rocks, man. It's more 3d than the others. They do this with lots of cameras at different places and angles.
- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How exactly are they doing that?
- hoowahman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2so you're saying these aren't AMAZING?!
- tw0bit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1How is this done?
- RoryQ, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I can't see it, im afraid that the digg effect has already taken place
- semelad, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0What software allows you to create an animation from pictures?
- TroyMcKlure, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Here is a better link that i ran across on that same site, WITH actual ANIMATIONS :P
http://tochka.jp/pikapika/2006/06/the_past_of_pikapika.html
Now THIS is diggable :) - TroyMcKlure, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Animations?? Look like static images to me.. :-/
