Who decided Sandman was cooler than venom and thus deserved more storyline. I'm surprised how they didn't make fun of how spiderman and sandman have a cry fest at the end.

The fact is these guys were the first ones (AFAIK) to make it in such a video, and honestly, after being swindled out of seeing the 3rd movie, the public could use an embodiment of the movies flaws, it's almost like therapy ;D.
The absurdity of the video lies in the absurdity of the obvious flaws of the story and movie, which, if you read into, was drastically changed against Sam Raimi's original story (It involved the Vulture & Sandman was more integrated into the story; however, producers clamored for Venom, rightfully so as many fans wanted this, but Raimi obviously did not like the idea for whatever reason and it easily reflects the now-in-hindsight clumsy, which aside from *maybe* eye candy (I say maybe since the screen time for Venom was a mere 10 mins at most), the hype up for Venom upon the release of the 3rd film wasn't justified by the results. One hopes that Venom's "death" in the movie reflects the source material in being merely a "comic book death", which are about as a reliable as the wind depending on the season, and that hopefully his character will be given way more justice in the future.
This is assuming of course Spider Man 4 (most likley will occur) is any good; if they drop Kirsten Dunst as MJ (pasty doesn't begin to describe the odd choice), and get a director who doesn't oppose fans, and maybe focus on making a good story (such things happened in the 2nd and arguably best Spider Man movie), it's easy to see SP won't be doomed by this 3rd sequel.
