- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -3/+73I swear to god I will turn this car RIGHT AROUND if you kids don't SHUT UP!
- cyrix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+66The cameras were the reason he was stuck in an "infinite" loop so to speak of stairs. It was due to the camera's angle. Think of it as: what the camera see's becomes "reality." When he smacked the camera it shifted it's view of what it was seeing, in turn changing the reality around the character.
This video should help you understand a little more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMkauQ8X210&NR - Mohonri, on 10/12/2007, -5/+64This guy should go work for Pixar
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46You're a waste of time.
- bntphoretwunny, on 10/12/2007, -5/+35M. C. Escher, that's my fav-o-rite MC
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+33Why would people digg UP a Family Guy reference?
- bcool, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27man, that's a great short. I was wondering why the cameras were there.
- Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17That staircase doesn't exist on 3d except if seen from a certain angle. The cameras were "creating" the staircase in the way in which they were positioned. By changing angle of 'em, he is able to break away from the illusion. Or atleast that's what I got from it.
Edit: cyrix beat me to it (i was incredibly slow typer) :P - upsidedork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16The visuals may not be Pixar-quality, but it tells a fun story with an interesting character, and I think that Pixar folks hold that in highish regard.
- haveacigar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14he should have done some free falling first
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+25Typing "Waste of Time" on Digg without any reason or explanation is itself a waste of time.
Did we just start a literary Echer Stairwell? - tdp05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@crilen007. Pixar recruits people who can convey story and emotion through their animation, not through the wizbang 3d that they do.
It's not the tools that you use, it's the story you tell and how tell it.
How many of the 3D movies have been shiite because of their story? The story is what is in short supply. Technical aptitude is the easy part to teach and much easier to learn that good storytelling. - asuraci, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Why do people keep copying and pasting the YouTube comments? :/
- Benzido, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7LOL, copying someone else's youtube comments, now THAT would be the definition of a waste of time.

- mriegger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7My impression of Diggers is that they liked Family Guy. And the reference in FG is a direct play on M.C. Escher's work, a pretty cute one too. Guess I was wrong.
- RockMyMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I relate to that cartoon. :(
- bushawa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Hell yeah, but I think the landing would have hurt like hell once he decides to stop.

I didn't enjoy the video that much, although, I must admit the animation was brilliant. - vitriolix, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1wow, you managed to put a spoiler in the title of your post, nice.
