- spliffy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+101if you are going to "steal" it why don't you get yourself a proper copy instead?

a nice alternative would be renting it. kicking down a few proceeds and then copying it.
http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=70043811
a better alternative would be buying it if you want to support the studio.

but please don't watch a 150mb flv version. people put a lot of work into this! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+98sigh...
Yes, here in Ye Olde UK we still say things like "I fancy taking that girl's knickers off and giving her a damn good shag". But then you must remember we only just got TV last year, and electricity 3 years ago. And what's this "Enter Net" thing I keep hearing about? - JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+93It's been up there since November 1.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+73maybe, but then we wouldn't know
- juanotejano, on 10/12/2007, -2/+56That's retarded. They definitely did not do this on purpose.
- CandidateZero, on 10/12/2007, -9/+58Now that it's dugg, it won't be long now. For those interested in having Cars on your hard drive, the following 14KB Firefox extension allows you to do so.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/ - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -8/+53Maybe it would stay on a little longer if idiots stopped submitting it to digg.
- Floydian23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38Quite common in the UK.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+34What came first, the chic... I mean the download or the digg?

for your viewing pleasure.... - BobbyOnions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19"Fancy a shag?" is one of the more common mating calls round these parts! (UK)
- dodger2020, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Didn't do that good? $244 million in box office sales in the US. $210 million in the international box office. And it's #2 on the rental list after only a week or so. I'd call that pretty good - unlike the quality of the google video :)
- FatherG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Speed test time. Which is faster; a torrent or a direct-download from google?
- gr8one, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21I've always wondered what it's like to be cynical and mad at the world, perhaps you can tell me what it's like?
- triska, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Except for the bit about you still downloading.
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Do you still say "fancy"? As in, "I quite fancy that Pixar movie, 'Cars'"?
I had Scottish relatives that used to say that all the time. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+25People still say knickers?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Be careful guys, it may be a trap!
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Ah, no disrespect was meant. :)
Words come and go in popularity, so I just wondered if "fancy" was still around. - lagnut, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17"I'm sorry to interrupt but we need Marcha and Ron Barns to come up and get thier child at the concession stand, thank you"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16You can bet that'll come down quicker than a stripper's knickers....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+21It could turn out to be an awesome marketing strategy, though. Once the profits are fairly minimal, release it on Google Video 'by mistake', Digg it, and rev up interest for a sequel.
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14It'll probably be down in a few minutes, ***** happens to everyone.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Your implication is on the board of Not Going To Happen, Inc.
- kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I fancy Google's ignorance.
- Teej, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It's gone as of 10AM EST
(originally posted by RyanSK, just moving it up on the page) - bogaut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12now that there is a dvd rip out, this one is kinna pointless.
- digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12"netflix the dvd"? Since when did the proper noun become a verb? I guess I'll go Dodge my way to the gas station and Exxon my car up.
- SamKellett, on 10/12/2007, -10/+18But CandidateZero, Google Video offers downloads of all their videos anyway...
- Orbatos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Why would you complain about something you have no ownership of being on YouTube? If you are really concerned, contact the actual owner, as this does not involve you in any way. In other words, it's none of your business.
- david76, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11@manageMyRights
Someone needs to go back and take Economics 101. Scarcity in this case is not the reason for cost of the product. The fact that you've put someone's product in an easily distributable form doesn't mean you magically justify stealing that product. Most movies aren't about making art for arts sake. They're about making entertainment for financial gain. Someone else invests millions and expects some compensation. And you think just because it's distributed digitally there's no longer an "scarcity" and so it should be free? - FatherG, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9By the way the source of this wasn't a DVD. Looks like HUSTLES SVCD from the little I watched.
- ComputerSherpa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7In answer to your question, poster, no, they don't have a team of humans that watches every one of the millions of videos that get sent to that site for uploading. If they did, people would probably be accusing them of censorship.
Buried for meanspiritedness--people like to rip on Google because they're a big target. This is a prime example of that. That's about all there is to it. - kypeli, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I just can't understand people who watch movies this way. The picture quality is crappy and the sounds are in stereo. Why not rent the DVD for a few dollars/euros and watch it in full quality on your TV with surround sounds? Watching a good movie any other way is a waste of time!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11CandidateZero, or click "download" on google video?
- digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Dude what in the hell are you talking about?
- e68895f, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I think one reason why people have not reported this to google is the following text.
"To file a notice of infringement with us, you must provide a written communication (by fax or regular mail -- not by email, except by prior agreement) that sets forth the items specified below. Please note that you may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you materially misrepresent that a product or activity is infringing your copyrights."
Would you tell google there is material on their site that infringes copyright after this threatening text.... - zeero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Actually this movie is a bit different from the typical...
-main character is on his highest point in life
-problems/troubles arise
-gets a stereotypical comedian friend
-fixes problems while learning a valuable life lesson
-everyone happy
... wait actually it's not. Has anyone noticed that all cartoons nowadays have the same plot? - gr8one, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7After that you can Circuit City a dvd player, and Applebee's some dinner.
- MrDarkSim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Your foil hat is on too tight.
- kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I never had the wow speed factor of torrents. Direct downloads are usually the best way to go.
- Spo8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6You know what I mean. Streaming is bother-free, as opposed to going out and finding a good torrent, tweaking it for best speeds, and then waiting.
- Pottersquash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't know when it started, but I was able to google a paper on this phenomon its called genericide, dont worry ill print out a copy and Xerox it and FedEx it to you. Dont worry about the fees, just trade me a Thermos and we can call it even, unless you have a Trampoline then maybe we can get together and Ebay the items and makes some cash.
- noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Don't worry, it will be pulled faster than you can say "Poopty pyooptie pants."
- RyanSK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's gone as of 10AM EST
- FatherG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Good point with the mp4 transcoding dubya. Even if the quality isnt' the greatest it has stereo audio and on a PSP/iPod screen you wont notice the lower quality much.
Getting about 360-430kbps on the .mp4 download. Anyone with a faster pipe getting a higher speed? - manageMyRights, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Cars is still making DVD money, but the point is excellent. Every movie studio has a bunch of films still copyrighted that don't make a dime ever. Most of these are so obscure you can't even rent them at the local video store or find them on bittorrent. And sites like gootube and google video need content that won't get them takedown notices immediately. Seems like the perfect combination.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5and for the 800mb version the
