- Chadul, on 10/19/2009, -3/+149My dad told me he smoked pot for a year before it started to get him high. He said the weed was fine and his friends all got high but for some reason it took a year of occasionally smoking for social purposes before he got the effects of the weed.
Maybe he was just inhaling wrong, but I don't know how someone could inhale wrong unless they were just taking it into their mouth and letting it out without taking a breath in.
The first time I smoked it took about 15 mins to kick in, it must have been a creeper, either that or because I didn't know what to expect I didn't notice it at first. Anyway to make a long story short, my friends got me a little too baked for the first time (If you're getting someone baked for the first time don't give them more than one or two hits and don't let them use a bong.) and I sat at my computer drawing in paint for about an hour, while occasionally making high pitched squealing noises and baby sounds, soon followed by passing out, soon followed by a friend giving me the best cookie of my life. It was then I vowed only to eat food when I was blazed.
I woke up the next day to a unicorn in battle with some sort of wizard, the unicorn was shooting pixels out of his horn and the wizard was making a defensive shield of some sort with his pixel magic. - Chunken, on 10/19/2009, -2/+35The first time I smoked we smoked 8 bowls. Yes 8. I didn't feel anything. The second time I smoked I needed 1 hit and it knocked me on my ass. I've always guessed that it's because the first time your brain sees THC it doesn't know what to do with it. The next time it says "What's up THC? Make yourself at home with those receptors over there." And then you get high. I don't really know but I had a roommate who could not get high at all. We smoked him out probably 8 times over the course of a month and he never got high. And he was taking big bong hits. After that he wasn't allowed to smoke our pot anymore.

I have a friend who is not lazy in the slightest in fact one of the hardest workers i know, but he loves to smoke because it makes the small manual labor jobs he does on a daily basis much more enjoyable for him.

What? That makes no sense. Cannabinoids activate the same receptors that are being used by the endocannabinoid system. They're always present and ready.
The receptors open an ion channel when activated, but that's the same whether it's the first time or the 100th. - mei0023, on 10/19/2009, -1/+25My first time, two of my friends fishbowled me. We were crammed into my friend's car, sitting outside my parents' house, and they must have lit up 2-3 joints (they were HUGE potheads, had been smoking since middle school, and we were in college by then). I only had a couple of hits, and even with the smoked-up car, I swear to God, I felt nothing.
Second time, though, was with a gravity bong. - Amadeus2490, on 10/19/2009, -11/+28It's because you can't hold it in your lungs properly the first time. Either that, or you just don't know how to inhale. You cough most of it out the first time, so the THC never really reaches your bloodstream.
