- robinthehood, on 07/14/2009, -4/+10Quesada - your art has changed so much and I know I haven't read comics in a while but frankly your Spider-Man cover sucked
JRJ - your art is just like I left it. I miss you - kontraire, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5*sigh* I miss McFarlane's Spidey. Say what you will about the man, he can handle a frickin' pencil.
- Gerakis100, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Love what they did in the last 20 issues with the series, really picked up after a slow start with the whole Brand new Day change
- valleyvideo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Thanks, Stan.
- eloestea, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Ill wait for the Minutemen version.
- SaladCactusKing, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3That's not what reprints means in Comic book solicit speak. A reprint is when publishers collect old stories as a way to jack up the price. For example, if Spider-Man 600 had a piece of the first time Spidey fought The Green Goblin and the first time he met Mary Jane along with a short new story together for 4.99, that'd be a reprint issue that fan's would complain about
~~The More You Know~~~* - H3BR3W, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Are you only interested in characters for their deaths? Hahaha, alright.
- Philbert, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Only 600? Frankly I expected the number to be a lot higher than that.
- G8kpr, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3I haven't looked at Spider-man since the Brand New Day disaster... That whole thing just left this really bad taste in my mouth, and I've even been dissapointed in Marvel's main titles since. They basically made a precident where "we can do anything we want to any comic and retcon the ***** out of it if and when we like."
I like Brubaker's work, but I'm not really keen on this whole Death and Rebirth of Captain America. Especially since that sort of story has beeen done to death with Superman a few years back, and now Batman is also dead, but coming back. Flash just came back, and the X-men have a revolving door to the afterlife. So meh! - valleyvideo, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3I love Romita Jr.'s art, but to me his style will always epitomize The Punisher.
- datdamonfoo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Spider-Man > All others.
Mark Bagley forever! - H3BR3W, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2You should see his Captain America: Reborn #1 variant that comes out this week. Looks like he has a beak.
John Romita Sr/Jr = The ultimate Spidey artists - cr3ative, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Emailed your employer about this and will be in touch with HP to get you guys off the job. Cut this the ***** out.
- ant9821, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Welcome to comics. Where have you been for the last 60 years?
- pe5t1lence, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Dugg for the shtick.
Blindside to DareDevil "Thanks to the chemicals in my glove...now you're totally blind! Quick everybody pile on!"
Spidey "Man Blindside, It's just not your night, is it?" - Gerakis100, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Don't forget you have more titles running - Annual Spider Man, one shots, Family Spider-man etc. etc.
- robinthehood, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1His first run on Spider-Man as well as X-Men for me. That was my childhood.
- ferbops, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1great!
- kontraire, on 07/15/2009, -1/+2If you're referring to your pencil-dick...no.
- SirBruce, on 07/15/2009, -1/+2LOL at the "no reprints" line. No company is going to be bound by that; they'll can reprint it later anytime they like.
- SirBruce, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1I know what reprint means in comic books (I worked in the industry), and you and I mean the same thing. I thought though that he meant that the book would never be reprinted, but now I realize he was saying the book *contained* no reprints, which apparrently was a complaint about Captain America #600.
- Philbert, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1That's a good point. I don't read them so I was just guessing anyway.
- G8kpr, on 07/21/2009, -0/+0Yea I know. It's typical. I guess when you're young, you can forgive this stuff. But when you've been in comics for 20 years, and it's the same crap over and over, it gets frustrating. I used to like the fact that bucky was one of the few heroes that died and stayed dead. Then of course they brought him back.
But what they did with Brand New Day, was really bad. It was really sloppy writting, I figure that they could have done something better and achieved the same results. Instead it was a quick fix, which is something you shouldn't do with your main title. - RN2K, on 07/17/2009, -0/+0Spider-Man comics have gone to complete *****. He was once the icon of Marvel, the "human" icon, the one who stood contrast to DC's godlike Superman. In the 70s and 80s you felt the ups and downs of his life through his eyes. You saw a man trying to be a hero, but he was only a man.
And then, the 90s happened, the ridiculous pieces of ***** started to gather themsevles....the Clone Saga began, one of the worst, unncessarily long pieces of crap Marvel has ever put together. The entire saga ruined Spider-Man as a character, in a whooping 2 year span. He went from Marvel's golden boy to being Marvel's janitor. The last 15 years of Spider-Man comics has solidified Spider-Man as one of the worst Marvel characters of all time.
Of ALL TIME. - G8kpr, on 07/15/2009, -1/+0McFarlane could draw, but his writting sucked ass. His plots weren't bad, but I didn't like how he wrote things. Then when he left, Erik (I'm going to rip off McFarlane's style) Larson took over. He tried hard to be a McFarlane clone, but never did.
I met Todd once at a comic con, back when Comic Con's weren't really a big deal. I got Spider-Man #1, and the Hulk issue he did signed. - thugcup, on 07/15/2009, -7/+1I personally dont like comics because nothing major ever happens. Characters never die for real.
- thugcup, on 07/15/2009, -8/+0do you also like to handle hard pencil shaped objects?
- thugcup, on 07/15/2009, -10/+1Spider-Man is a loser. I wanna bash him. I'm a tough guy!
