- dashdingo, on 10/19/2009, -2/+90I'd rather have The Cleveland Show get cancelled before American Dad. And that's saying something.
- whatthefu, on 10/19/2009, -4/+55I hope not. American Dad is better than both the Cleveland Show and Family Guy right now. The writing is fresh. No one gives it a chance, though.
- tmanv, on 10/19/2009, -9/+57That it has, and I hope the Cleveland show gets canceled, like right now.
- smacksaw, on 10/19/2009, -10/+47It's about time American Dad gets more critical acclaim, but it also deserves more love from the fans. Think about it - not only is it scripted television, but WELL SCRIPTED television...gasp!
Also, I think it fits in perfectly with Family Guy. After 30 minutes of laughing at sharp, yet discombobulated gags you get a show with a punchline. If that hour of TV was a woman's orgasm, Family Guy would be lots of pleasurable shocks while American Dad would be the single big groaner that wakes the neighbours.
For me, Family Guy is like foreplay for American Dad. - anderzole, on 10/18/2009, -41/+77American Dad has surpassed Family Guy
- Hardataq, on 10/19/2009, -3/+37You think THAT'S bad?
- Tyler2tall147, on 10/19/2009, -6/+36What MacFarlane show will be the first to go if Fox decides to air the new Futurama episodes? American Dad?
- richardsim7, on 10/19/2009, -0/+26I thought Comedy Central was airing the new Futurama episodes
- thebadkitty, on 10/19/2009, -2/+22Really? On Digg?
gtfo - socrates114, on 10/19/2009, -1/+20ok tarantino
- DestroyedAUS, on 10/19/2009, -2/+16Is it just me, or did Family Guy start the season with a kick-ass episode, only to go down hill very steeply? American Dad has been something that FG hasn't been for seasons - consistently good.
- PhillAholic, on 10/19/2009, -1/+15@Elranzer the "lame" Futurama movie writers can still produce a plot 10 times more interesting then your average Family Guy episode.
- jrm125, on 10/19/2009, -1/+15Given Fox's history of canceling better shows...American Dad.
- HAL90000, on 10/19/2009, -1/+14you're
- smacksaw, on 10/19/2009, -0/+11I think it's like cleaning the pipes before your first date.
Or, if we're gonna go with socrates114 and the Cleveland show haters, it's "Dead n***** storage"... - Lith25, on 10/19/2009, -3/+13your a ***** genius.
- 99XX, on 10/19/2009, -3/+12"For 90 minutes a week, MacFarlane has the loudest megaphone on TV. Is he saying anything with it?"
He's overusing that microphone. He's turned Family guy into his own personal soapbox. He's pro-choice, pro-gay rights, anti-religion, for stem-cell research, approves marijuana... the point isn't that I agree or disagree - it's that I shouldn't know that much about Seth. I don't care what his point of view is. What happened to the Petercopter? Or Stewie trying to kill Lois? or the 5 minutes of peter holding his leg and clenching his teeth? Family guy used to be just non-stop ridiculousness... I miss the older stuff. (and the Cleveland show is terrible). - inactive, on 10/19/2009, -0/+9LOL @ "African-American neighbor"
Can't just say "black neighbor"?
...only to later say, "(including self-conscious ones about white writers making sitcoms about black people)" - cJw314, on 10/19/2009, -0/+9So is you.
- NJGspartan, on 10/19/2009, -0/+8American Dad has been better than Family Guy for quite a while now. American Dad is proof that a MacFarlane show can still have a ton of jokes while also having quality storylines and character development. Maybe Family Guy can turn it around someday.
- Subduction, on 10/19/2009, -2/+10"I do not like your cartoon so I wish death on you."
- inactive, on 10/19/2009, -1/+8Simpsons has gone that way too, I remember when it was satire of everyone and was more under the table with sly comments, but now episodes are 20 minute social engineering shows with Homer becoming a gay minister, white illegal immigrants moving into town (notice for as liberal as they are were too afraid to show Hispanics), Bart's Muslim friend, the environmentalism shtick in the movie, could go on.
- rentmitchum, on 10/19/2009, -5/+12Really, people need to just watch things for what they are and not bitch so much.
- cbadthemad, on 10/19/2009, -4/+11buried as inaccurate, the simpsons hasn't been funny in years
- whytey, on 10/19/2009, -1/+8evil tot Stewie? don't you mean - GAY tot Stewie
- smacksaw, on 10/19/2009, -0/+7Neither. They'll just let it languish on Fridays with The Lone Gunmen and Sarah Connor...umm...
- Konrad9, on 10/19/2009, -0/+7Without scenes that go on 10x longer than they ought to, and with 99% of the jokes being related to the story event that just happened or setting up a punchline an hour away.
- coolcole93, on 10/19/2009, -0/+7GTFO more
- swazo, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6Nah cause when all the good ***** gets cancelled and the ***** stays on, someone needs to bitch on the internet.
- Asianwaste, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6Tearjerker sold me to American Dad.
- diceau, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6That was literally the worst kind of bait ... for fish, and humans.
- BigT383, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6Oh anderzole...
I DISAGREE!
*vroom* - Matteus15, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6I disagree.., Family Guy is still my favorite. Stevie and Brian interaction just does it for me.
- d3sp, on 10/19/2009, -7/+12Agree 100%, Family Guy has lost all of it's "charm". Stewie is only gay (literally) now.
Roger should get his own show. - jaytek13, on 10/19/2009, -0/+5"American Dad would be the single big groaner that wakes the neighbours"
Immediately recalls Stan's orgasm groan from A Smith in the Hand. - Asianwaste, on 10/19/2009, -9/+14I call it Animation Dumb-a-Nation
- holzp, on 10/19/2009, -5/+10Each show is 1/3 as good as it could be. The MacFarlane block is Fox's Saturday Night Live. A half hour of humor with an hour of filler for an hour and a half's worth of commercials.
- Subduction, on 10/19/2009, -1/+6Family Guy is selling out in syndication, and the rest of those shows are going there as well.
He's going to make Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld look like they should be on welfare. - pandawa, on 10/19/2009, -0/+5FTA" A send-up of Family Guy on South Park revealed it to be written by manatees picking colored balls with random joke topics inscribed on them."
i laughed hard when i saw that on SP because its true!
dont care for the Cleveland show. cancel it Fox and keep American Dad/FG - Trav1289, on 10/19/2009, -0/+5Stop trying to be me. I'M THE ONLY ONE ON THIS HERE DIGG THAT CAN HAVE A DIFFERENCE OF OPINON!!!
- nurbsenvi, on 10/19/2009, -18/+22Really?
I hate American Dad... - PhillAholic, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4I would agree with you with the exception of Bender's Big Score. I thought that one was good, not great by any means but it did make my friends and I break out our DVDs again and watch. And that's gotta be worth something right?
- bsonline, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4Hey! Look at me! I'm in the future, gonna do cool ***** now! John Connor is dead, long live John Connor! Skynet has a little brother with a heart! I'm a show finally coming into it's poten...t..i....aa...llll.
- holzp, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4Not done on a Saturday night and not live. Their best skits are basically viral videos.
- falconear, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4No, I think that's the true part, that he actually WAS supposed to be on one of those planes.
- zantos420, on 10/19/2009, -1/+4^ proof
- A5204, on 10/19/2009, -3/+6Damn dude. You want to make sure a guy dies in a terrorist attack because you don't like the cartoons he makes? You're a shining example of morality.
- eekrano, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3shut up (y)meg!
- Asianwaste, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3Crap
- Elranzer, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3SNL stopped being funny when Will Farrel left. But to me, it was already dead around 1998.
