The uproar about the bear and the drawing is stupid of other Muslims and they're only welcoming more incident. They're not making it any better for themselves. There are many liberal Muslims in the World who detest the actions taken by these extremists, I'm one of them we're not horrible hate mongers and people need to realize that as well.

  • ggnictee, on 02/13/2008, -0/+28sooo close: while the swastika has been used by: ancient unknown cultures, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Aryans, Hittites, Celts and Greeks, and even American Indian groups: it was rarely (if ever) used by the jews, and even then only as decoration, Not as a religious symbol. We would have accepted any of those answers. But you do win a version of our home game!

    History books: if you read them, you will know stuff.

    (also I think that the artist is just trying to make the "jew" character look evil. And Everyone thinks the Nazis were jerks. It also probably is a reference to claims that there was no jewish holocausts. And may be used to draw attention away from the fact that many Arab groups (in an effort to get rid of oppressive French and English overlords) took money and help from the nazis)

    When Christian extremists terrorized blacks in the South, the greater Christian community at large rose up to oppose them.
    Where are the parades of moderate muslims saying "Enough!" Where are the coalitions of moderate muslims trying to unseat corrupt clerics? Where are the moderate muslims who raise awareness of other cultures and preach AGAINST the intolerance today?

    I love you and there needs to be more people like you but you've gotta get off your ass and speak up for what's RIGHT! (I dugg you up)

While you guys are saying that we should stand up for our beliefs, you do not have not seen what happens to people that try to stand up to extremists and politicians in Arab nations. Death is a very normal result when it comes to protesting other punishments include kidnapping of family members and torturing them and torturing you as well. My father was jailed and tortured for 3 months because he tried to stand up to the government. He was then given a "trial" where the government chose their own lawyer and even wrote his case for him so the lawyers told a different story of what happened. The court issued him the death penalty and thanks to god the UN told the government that if the group of people that my father was a part of were killed, then they would overthrow the government. Hopefully this gives you guys a personal example of what happens to people in Arab countries. Being in the U.S. I can't do anything to change how people over in the middle east view the western world. This is due to the fact that most people are scared of governments and governments and political extremists own the countries pretty much.
