- Thater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+39Yes. The guy who made this drew every frame one at a time on a whiteboard and took still photos and strung them together making this astonishing animation. You might be surprised to learn that before computers this is how all animation used to be made, sans whiteboard.
- Livewired, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Wow! That's talented. I wonder how long it took?
In other news, I keep getting this feeling that I'm watching PBS as a small child. - vawksel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20Yeah... I don't call this Stop-Motion as much as I call it this other word, "Animation".
... Otherwise, you know, I really love all the stop-motion's, like the Disney's Snow White Stop Motion DVD I have. I also like the Lion King Stop Motion DVD, although I did see that Stop Motion in the theater. - Tollboi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15@ SeppukuBLUE
I never saw it 2 months ago, maybe you can set the statute of limitations for us on when something can be resubmitted. I find it hard to believe you can recall all the great news and videos that were submitted over the past 2 months.
I enjoyed the vid and was glad it was resubmitted. - FlapJaw, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Stop-motion is a type of animation, you *****. Call it that.
- Sphonix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I have no words for to describe this video... I can't believe how talented a drawer the artist is, along with his imagination and ability to merge the pictures so skillfully (obviously having to plan ahead with what he is drawing and going to draw). Very creative.
- 72doubledown, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9I disagree, The Nightmare Before Christmas was just a teeny bit cooler. Let's chill with the hyperbole.
- jlewicki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6anyone know what music was playing in the background? i digg it.
- DenTPuzz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Very 'Yellow Submarine'. Enjoyed watching it. Thanks for posting.
- allholy1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Finally, Google video instead of YouTube
- wicketr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's not so much the "stop motion" that makes it cool. It's the guys imagination and artistic talents.
- wisam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That part where he stretches the belly of one bird and the peak of the another is just brilliant.
Watch it at around 00:27. - merr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Art Attack!
- xenoploid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not stop-motion. It's just animation.
- FlapJaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3His style of drawing things is cool.
- thehoodie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is crazy, it would take so damn long to make all that. This is definitely the best stop motion that I've ever seen.
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i love the song
- piccols8, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4This was submitted a couple of months ago. Still very cool though.
- quoquo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1swedish electro:
http://www.myspace.com/minilogue - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pure creativity.
- Eddm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That is actually incredible. I would never have the patience for that.
- Kam3k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was utterly delightful, thank you.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I wish I could draw like that....
- UnleashChaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1At 2:37 there is a giant penis! Lolzzzz.
But seriously, great animation! - Azewaldo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's some pretty wack s#!t
- chazlarson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The hands appearing aren't necessarily a sign that it's edited down from live video. I used to shoot stop-motion for fun, and usually one guy moved the characters and another shot the pictures. We got a hand in the pic every now and then if our timing was off. After a while you stop being so diligent about looking through the viewfinder to ensure the one guy's hands are clear.
- PeteyUK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1time watch that again but with class A's. as someone said very "yellow submarine" lol :)
really off the wall animation though. Love it. - helloaloha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1what drug is he on? may i please have some
- TheElectricMonk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1im pretty sure this guy spent at least a few days working on this(yeah, low estimate) you see the sun go by a few times
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Awesome video, but a bit long tbh, while I was amazed at it's beginning, I was bored by the end of it.
- supazio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
- dancenhance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was brilliant. The characters reminded me of friends' drawings back home.
- ryandury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0holy crap, this is amazing
- crazyboy1121, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1woa..
- motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"I dont get it. Is it some sort of animation or what?"
That depends on the definition of animation. My 5 year old camcorder has a built in function to automatically capture a succession of video frames, simulating stop motion animation. This artist may have just drew this "animation" freehand without stopping, letting the camera do the work. Even if he did, it's still very cool to watch.
And for once, the music seemed to fit the video. - ThwompBlock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Damn.
That was incredible. Not so much the fact that it was animated, like someone above said, but the fact that his style flows so well with the animation... A+ for awesome... plus. - geekzapoppin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Not bad, but if you think that this is the coolest stop-motion animation ever, I have two words for you: George Pal
- armc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Awesome stop-motion!
- naymlis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0wow, very nice.. and to think, that was the short version!
- siegethesound, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1that was a great stop motion short. It'd be pretty impressive a stop motion movie were made, lets say about a cloud kingdom and cirrus clouds are angry that the cumulonimbus clouds are retaining all moisture but can't really do anything about it because the cumulonimbus clouds are angry and have super lightning launching abilities.
- curtosrules, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Enough of the "BEST _____________ EVER" stories. They are annoying!!!
- thecompkid, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Did you even look at the video, *****?
Yeah, I thought so. - Clearz, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Anyone know the name of that tune.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1my vote's for clash of the titans ;)
- elqboy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2THAT ***** WAS HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
- thealliedhacker, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Not Dugg for exaggerated description. People need to learn how to make a real description and title every once in a while.
- SeppukuBLUE, on 10/12/2007, -19/+11Nice submission.
It's a shame it was submitted two and a half months ago.
http://digg.com/videos/animation/Whiteboard_Animation - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1Anyone have a link to more?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1actually i question if this is true stop motion... it looks like he had a video camera constantly rolling and then went and edited out frames afterwards... the only reason i say this is because during scenes where it's just animation you can see spots where he had to leave in his hand in a few frames. if it were true stop motion his hand wouldn't be in any of the frames (well, the ones they weren't supposed to be in), however, if he's editing out frames it's natural that his hand might have been in a few frames where it shouldn't have been in order to maintain smooth animation.
however, it's still an awesome video... many diggs if i could :) - 72doubledown, on 10/12/2007, -29/+3Coolest ever! Wow, I haven't seen anything "coolest ever" "amazing" or "incredible" since the last little retarded internet clip I watched 5 minutes ago.
